I got mine as a gift and it's glitched so I can't even return it or get a replacement with no proof of purchase. ; ;

Perhaps the person who gave you the gift will have the proof of purchase? Worth asking.

 

Alas, I finally had a chance to check out the replacement disc, and while Episode 1 is now fixed, the sync problem at the end of Episode 2 (that I mentioned in the OP) is still there.

 

The problem begins right after the break when Twilight disappears in the castle of the royal pony sisters (when Nightmare Moon teleports her away). The mismatch isn't as bad as it was for Episode 1, but is still quite noticeable and distracts from the dramatic conclusion.

 

At this point I'm not interested in pursuing things further, but I do hope Shout! Factory will exercise greater diligence with respect to quality assurance for FiM products in the future.

Oh man, didn't know there was an issue in episode 2 as well. Got my replacement discs awhile ago and gifted some, so that's a shame. Oh well, hope they sort it out next time around. Is there any word on sales data for these? Just...curious how significant the impact Bronies are having on this is compared to your average "kids" DVD.
