I gotta say the intous 5 is a very good tablet, the touch feature on it works much better then the one on th bamboo pen and touch, also i has way more hotkey buttons and A wheel on the side that comes in really hand to change brush size, zoom, canvas rotation and much more. The only problem with the tablet rigth now is thta it sometimes bugg up so you have to turn it off then on agein ( atleast with the wireless kit) but i think that will be fixed pretty soon wuth a firmware update. The tablet is a bit pricey but is totally worth it if you do large ammounts of graphics work or drawing.

Having the Intuos or Cintiq is my DDRREEAAAMMMMM. However, she requested cheaper tablets, and the Intuos range isn't cheap (sadly).

I'm looking to taking out a student loan and getting the Intuos or Cintiq though, but I'm not too sure when to get one or how long it will last. My tablets tend to last around 1 - 1 1/2 years except from the Trust one I got which lasted about 8 months or less.

Any insight to their lifespan? c:

I dont have a clue on the lifespan of the intous 5 since i just got it and it feels very durable. Aslong as you dont drop it i think it will be ok since you can just plugg out the usb cable from the tablet and change it out. It also comes with 4 difrent nibs i think and 5 replacement nibs for the regular one. Also you can buy new nibs from the place where you bougth the tablet (usually) btw how do you manage to breake the tablets anyways or ?

Edit: damn phone why dont you have any form of english auto correct/spellcheck

I was about to make your OC but then I forgot about this thread since I was visiting this thread from my phone x)

But the one Enigma made looks stunning! And it's probably better than what I could ever make :)

Ahhh okay, I'll put up some for you~

TB-5300 Slimline Design Tablet: I've not had much experience with this tablet, I tried it for about 30 minutes at a friend's house. My experience with it is that it didn't have the greatest sensitivity, it was smooth, but quite bulky. Honestly, if you can avoid this tablet I'd say avoid it, I haven't had a great experience with Trust tablets but their price is a definite plus. So if you can't afford anything else, you may as well give it a go.

Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet: U=If you can afford it, get it! Wacoms are very popular and there's a reason for it, they have easy to follow instructions to install and a tutorial on how to use it (you must complete the tutorial every time you install a wacom tablet or all the features won't work).

VT PenPad 7.7-Inch Graphic Pen Tablet: Not tried it before but I trust the reviews/ratings.

In terms of digital painting/drawing software I highly recommend Paint Tool Sai, however it doesn't have any fancy features like Photoshop. It's an extremely smooth program (smoother than PS), which makes it brilliant for lineart. It's also cheap. If you need tutorials on how to use it there's a few around Deviantart. If you use a MAC like me though, don't get it, the tablet drivers in it are for PC only so when you use the tablet with it, it won't be pressure sensitive. If you do have a MAC the only bit of advice I could give you is to find a torrent of photoshop CS4, though that is illegal and you do run the risk of getting a virus if you don't know what you're doing.

Many, many thanks! It gave me a pretty good idea on what to shop for and what program to use. You're a big help. Again, thank you! :)
