Things you don't want to find out over Facebook and the like

What are some things you do not want to find out on a web page?

Did you ever have something like that happen to you??

Example: I would like to be told by phone about a family death. My grandmother in Arizona passed away on Wednesday night. Found this out over Facebook.

Too much about someone's personal life. Sharing some info is alright, but not very personal info. People like that really need to keep their leash on tighter. Also, relationships and who is dating who and such. That's info I really don't want to hear about. :(

There aren't many things that would bother me honestly as long as whoever told me is trying to keep me informed. I have no problem with knowing what is going on. I don't use Facebook too much anymore so there is that. I guess it doesn't matter to me, I am receiving information either way.

Oh, you know, those pieces of information you just don't want to know, like a creepy old guy whose identity you have not even the slightest clue that keeps posting comments on your stuff or sending you messages.

That and tragedies, which happened over vacation once. I stopped to read facebook while at the beach in Florida and found out a good friend of ours died. It was sad because both she and her son had been through so much bullcrap in their lives it was heartbreaking, shocking, and frustrating (their luck was awful) that it happened.

Could be worse, My Ex learned about her aunts death over FB... TWO WEEKS after it happened.. Cause.. you know, thats not important enough to tell people about or anything...

It was actually posted early on, but so many people post so much that the tiny two sentence blurb got lost in the fray and she wasn't tagged in it, making it extremely hard to spot.

TBH, I don't want to hear anything about anyone over FB at all.

If its important, phones exist, and cell phones are quick and easy access.... I also don't want to hear about the government spying on people, then seeing they are running FB pages LOADED with personal information handed out FOR FREE.... yeah.. brilliant...

Social media = the sad sad decay of society at its finest

I won't deny I have an FB since most can't seem to spread any info without it.. but mine is devoid of actual information. But I now wonder given my grandparents annotated my B-Day card this year with "(Grim)" under my name... creepy...

Instead, mine has pony pictures and thats about it :)

A picture of me is a rare thing...

What half of the teenager girls in the world are having for lunch.

Break ups, deaths, marriages, births, anything personal really.

Pretty much the above. I've never had to be the bearer of bad news or witness it and hope I never have too.

For right now though, if posts aren't comic book or pony related then I'll pretty much ignore them unless it's my best friend posting, she usually has awesome stuff to say.

Nothing except the most trivial of things. I don't see Facebook as a serious avenue for news. I don't care if it's worldwide news that has nothing to do with me personally. Basically, things like deaths of important people, somebody telling me they have to go away forever, But only if I'm just looking at my News Feed.

If they tell me PERSONALLY, in a private message, and they have no means of... well, telling me in real life (or via phone conversation/voice call, which would be preferred), then I honestly don't care. The majority of my most vital life conversations have been over the internet anyway, so it doesn't lessen the impact any less.

Well I most certainly don't want to find out that a person has instantly received inspiration from a famous figure soon after their death. I would much rather remember the person even during their lifetime. To be blunt, I found out about Nelson Mandela's death through those "inspirational" quotings. That I don't want.

I also don't want to see any more Bitstrip statuses. Like, I used to do them, but I found some of the pretty stupid to be honest. When I made them, I didn't want to be funny. I put them in to show how I was feeling in a different way. So yeah. I don't want anything to be known through Bitstrips, particularly those moments that never happened, but were placed just to be funny.
