Do you need the main six to be the only hero's in equistra?

i felt this is it's own thread even though it's in reaction to fan out cry to daring don't.

Do you really need only the main six to be the only do gooders in all of equistra?

Does Princess celestail have to have a giant insane map with thumb tacs showing every hero in her war room that could be called on like a league of heros?

Cause that didn't work in justice league unlimited (heh) having one giant super group.

I'm not suggesting those hero's get their own episodes like daring do, but if a couple show up here and there,

you shouldn't freak out.

I'd like to think their are competent ponies beyond rarity, AJ, Pinkie pie, twilight, flutters, and rainbow.

In fact while I love pinkie pie, i'd hate to think she's part of her worlds last best hope.  Surely you feel that's reasonable?

I like how the OP ignored every critique the majority of people have actually levied against the episode and instead just made up his own reason why they consider the episode of poor quality. Attributed his made up "no other hero's allowed" reason in place of the common critiques and then chastised everyone else for it.

I bet no one will notice.

Well they are other ponies out there in Equestria but, they're not in Ponyville though. Since Ponyville is the only closest thing to Canterlot, it makes sense to have the Mane 6 be the main heroes.

The problem with the episode was not Daring Do, it's just that Rainbow Dash was putting Daring Do on such a high pedestal that she was starting to doubt herself.

The problem with Daring Don't wasn't that there was another hero, it's that Rainbow Dash was insufferably annoying.

At any rate, I'm sure there are plenty of other ponies out there having adventures of their own, we just don't see it. Perhaps someone in Saddle Arabia is saving the world as we speak.

You mean how most people blamed fan fiction when the story is ripped of a george lucas movie?  Something far less evolved?

Be glad you didn't bet i would took you up on it.

Let me toss an idea out at you.

Is daring don't rainbow dashes sweet and elite episode?  cause it's my head canon that people like myself who like the episode are the ones who find rainbow that annoying all the time.

So instead of being the poochie of the show, ie the character that's there to be cool,

she came off as a nerd.

a much more likable arch type.

Actually, that would be a definitive *no*.  Rainbow Dash is one of my *least* favorite characters in the mane six.  They switched out her cockiness, which is pretty annoying, for being The Scrappy, which is *really* annoying.  Acting like a nervious wreck and bungling things up for others is not entertaining, it's awkward.

It wasn't her nerdiness that got to me, it was how she just bungled things up and got in Daring Do's way.  She was Buddy in the opening scene of the Incredibles.

well drowning in horse shoes pointed out that rainbow dash suffers from confidence problems,

look at sonic rainboom,

she has a melt down before the competition.

Look she bungled those things up to.  Are we to believe that was out of character as well.

The nature of this episode can't help but create a very polarized reaction from the fan base.  A lot of people saw Daring Do as the relatable character for Rainbow Dash and seeing a denizen of a fantasy world have their own type of fiction, albeit "inspired" by Indiana Jones, is a level of world building unto itself.  To tell the truth what constitutes as a fantasy genre in a fantasy world has always intrigued me.

And now we learned that Daring Do is real.  Her books are non-fiction and we have attempt to interpret everything that means.  What we know about Equestrian fiction has kind of been thrown into the fireplace in favor of a hero who uses her adventures as a way to... well, not really sure why she does it.  Doesn't immediately matter.  This element did sacrifice an aspect of world building for another and so I have to ask myself was it worth it?

And I can't really answer that at the moment.  Aside from the random team up with Daring Do and the main six, mostly Rainbow Dash, I have no idea how this truly interacts and exists alongside the already established world.  Yeah this is illustrated to be a rather insular setting, the problems always being referred to affect only "the valley" instead of Equestria.  Only Rainbow Dash and to some degree Twilight Sparkle seem to blow these issue into world-wide issues.  Worse we kind of begin the history of this setting in media res so we don't have a true beginning to it or the reasons behind anything.  We know nothing about Ahuizotl, why he want's to conquer/curse the valley, why those cats follow him, who those temple ponies are, we don't even know why protecting the valley is important, in short all the aspects that would make this cohesive.  It's an element that just raises further questions which is why there have been a lot of comments declaring this episode to be a giant plot hole.

Yeah, I like this episode for the main six, especially seeing Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle as actual friends with relatable conversations.  Still though, I can't help but be confused by the myriad questions this episode left us with.  At the moment I kind of prefer Daring Do as a fictional character.

That might change depend on how those questions are answered though.

Stop putting words in my mouth. I never said it was out of character, just that it was different from her usual brand of annoying. But still annoying- no, even worse.

Is she behaving differently from how she usually does? Yes. Is it still consistent with certain aspects of her character? Yes. Does that magically make what I saw less awkward to watch? No.

I suddenly have the mental image of discord holding up a literal bag of words trying to push them in Twilights mouth.  yep that's my new wish list.  But in all serious ness my mind associated what you said, vs the fans who felt she was out of character,

and apparently I mis understood.

My apologies.

Well (get ready for this b.s.)

the show is called friend ship is magic.  Rainbow is an awkward friend correct?  Rainbows awkwardness is her brand of friend ship, so it could have magically have made it less painful to watch.

It didn't but it could have.  (and thus begins my not so slow descent into madness).

I watched digi's and olivers critics on the show.

I've read the threads.

Obviously you didn't listen to what Oliver and Digi were saying because not once did they allude to this:

Do you really need only the main six to be the only do gooders in all of equistra?

As being the reason they didn't like the episode.

in other words you threw that up didn't leave any other critic to correct me with.

I will leave you with two critics to correct you with.

Fimpressions

DigibronyMLP

The two you said you watched. The two that never mention having other hero's was the reason they didn't like the episode.

Or you could read the criticisms in Naive Wolf Josh's post. They are the common ones.
