How to get to the Human World in less than 30 moons

To sum up, my opinion of Equestria Girls is that while it had its flaws, I absolutely loved the movie. That said, I would love to see the alternate universe be expanded upon. While I doubt another film or another tv series would work out, a comic series might do it justice. (I mean expanding the fictional universe is what they're made for.)

 

But I digress. I'd really like to see Twilight and Spike explore the human world so more, but the mirror only opens every 30 moons (which, according to sources, is the equivalent of 2.5 years) and don't like the idea of waiting the long. Things in both universes would changed so much that it'd be difficult to pick where the movie left off.

 

Therefore, I'm looking for suggestions and ideas on how the portal could be opened again without having to wait for 30 moons to pass, as well as share my own thoughts and see what everyone thinks.

Maybe there is a spell in the Starswirl the Bearded wing, where you can extend the time for a portal to open. So, you can stay in the human world and not wait for 30 moons for the portal to reopen.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if Starswirl created the mirror. It was probably another one of his magical experiments.

 

Edit: Going back to what Malinter wrote, time travel is a thought that has crossed my mind. However, if I remember correctly, a magic user could only use the time travel spell once, so Twilight could not use it again since she used it once before. Though, there might be a possibility that the spell could be coasted onto someone by another, but this is debatable. One thing I find interesting is the question of what would happen if one crossed over into an alternate dimension while using said spell. I am curious as to the effects it would yield. So, basically the effectiveness of a time travel spell being used to reach the other world is debatable.

perhaps they could say something like that the mirror keeps time in the moment it recharges so when it activates again you can go through and nothings changed (yes i know logic couldn't allow that to happen)

Here's the plan on avoiding the whole 30 moons/nights limit.

 

1) Acquire Doc Brown's DeLorean time machine

 

2) Set the destination to a date when the portal was open

 

3) Somehow get 1.21 gigawatts into the time machine when there is no plutonium in Equestria

 

4) Drive down a straight, long road to get up to 88 MPH

The time line of events between the two world that perplexed me.  It feels like the human world operates on a different flow of time than Equestria.  Time moving faster in the human world than Equestria.   Knowing what we do now it would be what 1 year since Twilight found the elements and became a Princess?  But nearly 3 years in the human world?  We can tell this by the 3 prom queen Pictures of Sunset.    So given that time does not Flow at the same rate in both worlds we can make some guesses.

 

1.  The Portal opened 1 Prior Time before the Movie (2.2 earth years right?) 

 

2. When the Portal is open the Time flow is in sync on both worlds,  so both worlds have the same amount of time to travel between the 2.

 

3. Lets now look at Equestrias time line,  We can guess about half a year probably passed. Given we don't know when exactly this is we can guess anywhere from mid season 2  up to Crystal Empire time window.

 

4. Sunset used this optotunity to recon Info on what is happening in Equestria for future conquest plans.  She is after all Safe in another world able to plan out her next move.  She learns about Twilight and Company and the Elements, if she didn't already know. That leads me to ...

 

5. Reading the Comic, it's revealed Sunset spent a lot of time in the forbidden archives.   She was not only power hungry, she was willing to study for it.  That means reading many books.  So she probably learned about the legend of NMM before she even left and was able to guess what the elements are and that they would stand against her.

 

6. She defiantly sees the similarity's in the two worlds and is able to identify our worlds Elements.  Seeing them as a possible hindrance she decides to cause conflict between them.  Didn't she even drive off another girl that was going to run against her in the dance.  A possible Twilight parallel?  ( well that's unlikely)

 

7. With a plan ready she comes back, has a crown to swap and knows what she must do.  For her it was probably luck that Twilight was nearby.  Swap the crown, MC the School, take them thru the portal to take over Equestria before anyone knows whats going on.   Element of magic in her ...Hoofs..  the other elements are useless.   I'm not saying that this plan, even if pulled off perfectly, would of succeeded, maybe, but at least she had a plan.

Now wouldn't that of made a good movie? Instead of getting the crown back in our world, its a battle to reclaim the element and return the humans to their world before the time is up.

I actually wrote a short fanfiction in which one of my OCs, who is a human, finds a smaller mirror in her roommate's closet and gets sucked into the pony world, coming out at a fountain (which I called the Celestia Honorary Fountain) in Canterlot. The OC went to find Twilight, who did some studies and found that the fountain was a secondary access point that opens on the last day of every month.
