movies/tv Favorite Version of "A Christmas Carol"

There have been a lot of different alternate takes on the classic novel "A Christmas Carol" where rich mizer Ebeneezer Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. My favorite is a two way tie between Scrooged which is this movie where this TV executive is visited by the ghosts which is not only a good take on the story but is also hilarious. A Muppet Christmas Carol is perfect in nearly every way, it is the most faithful I have seen to the original novel and has some good songs like this one which has the best version of Jacob Marley.

 

 

Mickey's Christmas Carol comes in a close second for me, I especially like this scene. The sound quality sucks on the video so you will have to turn up the volume a bit to hear it.

I think the 1969 adaptation of ''A Christmas Carol'' is my favorite because, of the effective gloomy atmosphere. The only part of it, I didn't like was Fred singing in it.

My personal favorite is the 1984 TV movie. George C Scoot plays Scrooge more like a businessman than any other actor, and it's an interesting take. It's like Scrooge simply doesn't understand why everyone doesn't thinks the same way he does.

Muppet Christmas Carol, Mickey's Christmas are both awesome. But my favorite live action re-enactment is Scrooged.

Muppets take it all the way. I like the take on Mickey's, though the Muppets are more memorable for me.

 

That and the Flinstones one.
