Name: Princess Dawn Sparkle

 

Gender: Female

 

Species: alicorn

 

Cutie mark: Love heart

 

Personality: Princess Dawn Sparkle (Everypony calls her The Big D) is a very nice mare. She is very approachable and loves making new friends. She loves going on adventures with her friends and loves learning new things. She can be socially awkward due to her sheltered upbringing which leads to panic attacks

 

Backstory: The Big D was born in the heavens of equestria as an alicorn where she became the first heir to the throne. As a filly she would go out on many adventures with her friends. People made fun of her all black coat calling her a names. Because of this her parents kept her at home most of the time. she was home schooled and had limited contact with friends. The Big D got her cutie mark when she was doing triple bypass heart surgery. She was the first filly in equestria to complete the operation without killing the patient. After this The Big D knew she was destined to be a heart surgeon, thus she gained a heart as her cutie mark.

Upon hitting marehood The Big D had a huge party and got totally wasted. A stallion spiked her drink and had his way with her while she was asleep. A few months later she had twin babies which she named Celestia and Luna. When her mother finally passed away The Big D became the new ruler of Equestria. Her reign was only short lived however, one day she suddenly disappeared and no pony has heard from her since.

3.her design, no... Rainbows and black is a really unfitting along with the yellow wings, it's painful to look at.

4. She's an alicorn, this is a complicated subject.

5. Which that's the problem, why the hell is she a princess, heart surgeon and the mother of celestia and Luna, if she's not canon do not make her related to any pony who is.

6.born in the heavens? What?

7. The backstory is all over the place, then disappearing at the end? It again, makes no sense.

Wow... well I'm really not sure what to say. Though, oddly enough, the back story was quite amusing, so I'll give you that.

Because it really wasn't a good reason, she was born in the heavens, which she shouldn't have, because if she's a princess and being older than Luna and celestia being their mother, is forcing the oc in being connected or related to canon characters, there really isn't a good reason, they're all just excuses, parents being alicorn, being royalty, or havering father being Pegasus and mother being unicorn. Twilight sparkle became an alicorn because she earned it by spending years being celestias student, then learning a certain spell and became an alicorn, this OCs reason was because she was the princesses mother, being born in whats supposed to be heaven. She shouldn't be related at all to the princesses because its just forcing their oc into being canon.

And the backstory honestly wasn't that good, it seemed really rushed and being just an excuse to being a princess oc.

I can think of one good Alicorn OC, and that is my friend 's OC - Moonlight

I am actually roleplaying with her now (well whenever she's on) and she is loads of fun

 

So yes there are some really good alicorn ocs, but sadly there are more extremely terrible ones

Um... I really don't mean to be mean in any way, but that's not that great of an OC in general. Being an alicorn makes it even worse sadly, considering there isn't even an explanation as to why she's an alicorn.

Well if you want to get into technicalities that OC isn't technically an alicorn

 

"A winged unicorn is a fictional equine with the wings of a pegasus and the horn of a unicorn."

 

"Alicorns are pony characters in the show who have both a unicorn horn and Pegasus wings, and are all styled as royalty."

 

M.A. Larson and Lauren Faust said in the past on their twitter accounts that bat ponies and pegasi are two different races

Please explain how being an alicorn is a flaw?

It's just extra power, there's no reason to being one, there are very little ways to being an alicorn, being royalty or a student of Celestia are the only known ways, and being either of them if forcing yourself into being related or connected to a canon pony greatly, as if they're part of the show. In the show we never see an alicorn just walking around. Pegasi earth ponies and unicorn are the common race, and there are only 4 alicorns. All the reasons said in the backstories are used a lot because noone can think of a better reason to have extra power in being an alicorn or a princess. There's just no GOOD reason to being an alicorn princess.

 Nuff said. It isn't stated in the bio that she isn't a alicorn and is in fact a "pegacorn", and Blue Blur, who is the creator's friend, even said it was an alicorn OC. While he could be saying his opinion and moonlight7starshine actually does believe that Moonlight is a pegacorn, nowhere in the bio does it actually say that. And while you could make an inference that she is a pegacorn, the backstory and personality are too rushed to even tell, which also makes Moonlight a not so great OC.

 Um... Did Lauren Faust tell you that? Or Meghan McCarthy? Unless it's proven as canon you can't claim it as fact.
