Ideas on how to get involved in the community

I've been watching the show for nearly a year now and I feel like creating something for the community.

The only problem is I really don't know what because:

 

I'm not particularly good at drwaing , I don't want to do Analyzis/Review because there are so many already,

I also don't have a good feeling for music, the only other thing I could try is animation witch I know nothing about (yet)

So any Ideas?

Well that sounds nice and all: but how about starting off just contributing and having fun with the forums and enjoying what that and the show has to offer for now?

 

And when you think of something you want to do then try your hoof at it and give it a shot: inspiration can't often be forced out of thin air it sometimes just has to happen out of the blue.

 

You seemed keen on animation it seems, so maybe learn how to animate and do that stuff before anything else as for drawing or music if you did want to have a go at that (which of course you might not) then there's nothing stopping you from at least trying it first.

You can get a free trial of a program like Sony Vegas Movie Studio and the downloads of the episodes from Ponyship and start pretty easily in my opinion. If you've ever thought that a song fit a character or an episode in the show, you can turn that idea into reality.

I published the first chapter of my first fanfic several months ago (it is linked in my sig if anyone is interested) and am working on the first chapter of another one while my editor goes over chapter 2 of that one. I did it not because I felt any obligation to contribute but because I wanted to express my creative side and have some fun and I suggest that if you do anything like that you do it simply because you want to do it not because you feel like you have to.

Writing fan fictions could bring out your creative side that you didn't know you had, you can always try different things if that doesn't work out.

Seems like you've been given several good suggestions already. I will say that there's opportunities to get involved and be creative everywhere in this community.

 

If there's MLP music fans reading this thread who ACTIVELY listen to the current music (going through EQD's music of the day and finding their favorites for example) I'd love to have additional help for our FimMusic.Tumblr (see my signature) which is a news, reviews, interviews, and playlists for brony music. Like Pitchfork for Ponies. We are always looking for people who want to signal boost good lesser known music and who want to get involved.

 

But back to the op.  Art, Fimfics, Music, Cosplay, Collectors, PMV's, Analysis,....there's lot of avenues if you have talent or interest in any of these areas.
