I could easily see them not going forward with it if for example, The Equestria Girls toy-line was a flop. I'd gotten the impression that it might happen, but there weren't any guarantees. I'd be psyched for one though, provided they kept the voice actors and writers from the show. As nice as it would be to see a show centered around Sunset Shimmer's adventures in friendship, it would probably copy too much from FiM and other high school shows, plus it would create a much heavier workload on the staff. Too much could lead to a decline in quality of FiM and poor quality for the EqG show to begin with. Of course, if Hasbro decides they need it, they'd make it happen. If there was a show and it turned out good than great, if there was one and it turned out crappy it'd disappear after the first season. People complain it'd be the end of mlp fim, no it'd be the end of mlp eg. Despite the film itself making a lot more money than Hasbro expected, I'm under the impression that the tie-in toy sales have been poor. Hasbro spent the last fifteen or more years deliberately shifting away from being a toy manufacturing company to an IP licensing company. They've shut down all their manufacturing plants except for one in the states and one in Ireland, I believe, and do nearly all their work licensing their IP to third-party manufacturers in India and China. It's going to take another, similar shift for them to start thinking of Media being a valid revenue source rather than an advertising expense. The very same night I saw the trailer for EqG, I had a really strange dream/mild nightmare about it becoming an entire series. My dreams are becoming a reality... Besides, they already have a show similar enough to EqG. It's called "Monster High"...
