Luna spoke into Steel's mind, "the vagabond is right, not about the fillies leading but about calling it to a vote. If the girls choose not to lead yet then they are not ready to lead yet. Vote for yourself, it is better to gain the respect of everyone else and lose graciously then to isolate yourself from them. If they when help guide them all that you can, if you when do please consider them in you choices and how they might feel... When the sun rises again and we rebuild Equestria I need you to be ready to become Captain of the Guard and lead the army that protects Equestria. You must be prepared to lead no matter what the situation or who 'thinks' they are in control, the best leaders don't always shout orders but guide soldiers."

Wanderlust sighs, "Willow I won't force you to lead, that's why we're voting. If you don't want to lead you can vote for who you think should lead. But you do have leadership or at least so much potential for it, you are observant and a quick thinker, you have a big heart and consider everyone else before you act. Those are the traits of the best leaders I've seen all over the world. Flower, a tactician means you're really smart, good at planning and amazing at out thinking other creatures. Willow wouldn't be leading alone because I know we would all help her.

 

He sits down, "I'll accept who ever wins as leader, but my vote is still Willow."

"My vote is Anypony besides the fillies" steel said them he flew over to embers tripped him and put demons bane against his neck "don't touch me again" steel growled embers could feel his soul being pulled on

Wanderlust looked back and forth between them, "Gah, I know Equestria is ruled by princesses but you ponies had to have voted for something before! Of course you can change your vote until everyone has voted. You nominate somepony from the group and vote for them. It can be anyone, and I doubt we'll have a tie but we'll come up with a tie breaker if we need to."

When embers poked the blade part of his was exposed to the true horrors of hell and his soul began to bleed away into the blade steel jerked it back stopping the blade from taking his soul "don't think I'll keep my blade in check next time" steel said as he took flight he flew high and stayed there

Steel was to high in the air to hear embers he was done dealing with embers he was obviously a colt hiding in a stallions body he flew around till he found a cloud he out it above the fillies and perched there making sure they where safe that's all he planned to do now

You care more than you want to admit but I know you Steel. So I won't push the issue but when this is over the position of Captain of the Guard will be waiting for you." She hesitated, "And don't let that Vagabond win to be leader! He's not fit to lead a noble mission like this one!"

Both of the fillies sensed the change in the atmosphere that Steel brought. Crystal looked up, and Willow nodded. She closed her eyes, and said just loud enough for Steel to hear: "I see you are done with your little argument. Why are you here? We can protect ourselves. Just like you said, 'Willows a natural born leader!'" She imitated Wanderlust. "Mom told you to protect us, but not stalk our every step! We don't need a trillion bodyguards!"

We won't do any fighting! That's why we have big, scaaaary stallions like you! Stallions who don't care about anything other then who they're going to kill next!" She spat the last words out like they were poison.

 

(Being angry is horrendously fun.)
