Grell was passd out his horn blackened he laid there and if one looked through the magic monocle they would see no magic in grell

Steel had walked far enough so he didn't hear Luna he sighed and looked at. His blade "I have failed.. My word is my life, my life is my word..."

"Mom!" Willow choked. "Mom! Are you okay? What happened!?" Willow hugged Luna tight. "Please, don't let anything like that happen again. You were attacked by something and then you went limp and then your heart stopped, and you made Melody and I scared! So, so scared!"

"I know honey, I know, I was so scared too, I thought I was saying goodbye to you both." Luna was crying openly now. "I'm so glad I'm back with you."

 

Then she looked over to Grell and she couldn't tell if he was awake or not but spoke to him anyways, "thank you for bringing me back, thank you."

 

Suddenly Luna's wings turned a bright white and shot up spreading wide. A hush fell over everyone and they could not speak or move. An ethereal white Alicorn with a pink mane seemed to appear between them. She took otherworldly steps through the air as she walked to Grell putting her hoof on his forehead and making sure his soul was conscious to what was happening around him.

 

She spoke in Celestia's voice, "It's not often a soul is allowed to return to life, and even rare that a soul is allowed to return from what comes after, but you've done something very selfless and while usually such actions go unrewarded this warranted a response." The transparent ethereal Celestia gestured to Luna's glowing wings, "you gave a princess a life but it is not the same life, not the life force of princesses life. She gets to live but only a mortals lifespan. It's not your fault; that was all the spell could give. So she cannot keep all of her power, some is left over like a cup overflowing."

 

With those words Luna's glowing wings began to fall apart, it wasn't painful but soothing, it was beautiful as glowing white pieces that looked like flower petals drifted lazily down around all of them. The celestial Celestia smiled, "so it was decided the power left over should go to good use." The drifting petal floated towards each of the ponies, even to Steel and Runedawn, they seemed to disappear on contact filling them with warmth and power. The flurry of petals healed all their wounds and restored all their strength and energy. The largest amount of petals entered Grell restoring even his connection to magic.

 

Celestia booped Grell in the nose, "be careful with that you are the first to ever have a chance of casting that spell twice."

 

She moved on to Luna grinning slyly at her, "take good care of that life, it's all either of us could have ever wanted."

 

She paused finally in front of Willow and Melody, nuzzled each of them once, "remember you two are so loved, I am so proud of you." And with that she simply was gone again.

 

Everypony could breathe and speak again; they were fully healed, awake and restored. Luna was now just a unicorn, looking as she did without her power. She looked unsure at her hooves, "I'm mortal? Just a normal pony like everyone else?" She smiled happily.

(Umm foreverfrozen you do realize when Runedawn went after a sun shard alone he got turned into a monster by North Wind. Embers isn't going to wander into him but all the sun shards are in very dangerous places O_o careful don't get in over his head)

 

The hydra was mad and hurt. The diamond dogs had attacked it, they were not tasty, they made the hydra's stomach ache and it felt sick. Eating them wasn't the worst part, they had dirty claws and had managed to cut off one of its heads, it had grown two new ones in it's place but they both had a wicked headache. Worst of all they had taken away the warm and shiny thing. It had liked the warm and shiny thing.

 

Then it smelled something to make it happier. 'Pony flesh' it thought to itself. Yes that would clear up the foul taste in it's mouth and settle it's upset stomach. It moved under the swamps surface waiting for the right moment to strike and devour the pony.

Grell was awake now so confused he hadn't heard Luna but he didn't get why he could still do magic he had never dreamed Luna would lose some of her magic he thought about what was said and slowly began to understand

Steel had felt his wounds heal he didn't know why they did or what happened he looked over his should "failure was never on option" steel said "my life is word and my word is my life broken one broken the other shall be" and with that steel took his dagger and stabbed his stomach

Embers yawned as he walked, not really having a care in the world. He still needed to find somepony to make his sunshard into a sword, but he was sure others had survived if HE could. As he walked, he wonderd about luna...about willow...bah, willow doesnt care about him, why should he?

Luna felt a twinge in her mind from her mental connection to Steel. The connection had weakened but was glad to find it was still there. The pain she felt come from him though caught her off guard. She didn't let the alarm show but called out to him mentally, 'Steel?! What's wrong?' She looked around not seeing him anywhere, which worried her more, she would have thought he would have stayed with her body, seen her to some sort of burial and guarded her daughters.

 

She call to him mentally, 'where are you Steel? Grell restored me, you should come take guard; Runedawn will awaken soon and it would be best we were prepared for any surprises.' She hope the call to duty would speed his reply.

Embers chuckled as he walked, knowing were ever he was going, he was going to have fun. He no long took pain, he took the pain, and turned it into madness. Madness he then used to fight. He smiled as he walked, knowing what ever would come his way, that he would have fun with it

The hydra waited as the pony drew closer and couldn't believe it's luck, this pony was carrying another warm and shiny thing. It committed itself to wait until the pony got close enough that it had no way to escape. But one of it's new heads didn't listen and struck out at him to early letting the pony have time to react.

Wanderlust moved and caught the collapsing Melody, then moved her on to his back. He gave her a smile, "told you I'd catch you whenever you couldn't catch yourself. If you need to close your eyes for a bit you can."

 

Luna leaned supportively into Willow, "I think she followed me back when Grell revived me. He used magic to break some rules to bring me back. I think she came back to explain what happened to me and to say hi to us. She loved us to much to stay away." She smiled gently at them and caressed Melody's mane with with her magic. "I won't miss my wings too much, it will be a relief to not have to rule the night anymore. I can just live a normal life and raise my daughters when this is over. Grell didn't bring me back, he gave me a whole new life to live with you both."

 

She heard Steel's response and a lump formed in her throat, she responded mentally, 'what do you mean I'll find you or your body? You didn't, you're not that foolish. Please tell me you're not that foolish.'

 

She looked at the group around her, "You're right Willow we should should go now. We should get out of this cave and back to the surface. Wanderlust and I will go with the Girls and carry Runedawn out to the mountain side. Sapphire you and Grell go get Steel, he went down that tunnel there, go get him quickly so we can leave soon." She lifted Runedawn with magic and headed for the exit.

 

Mental she thought to Steel, 'you stay strong, no dying on me now and that is an order. I'm sending Grell and Sapphire to help you. The leftover magic of Grell's spell just healed everyone so your wounds shouldn't be bad, they might already be healing so you hold in there and no dying that's an ORDER. I need you more than ever. So you recover and meet us on the surface, double time Steel. Please.' She thought all this as she walked not letting the emotions show.

Embers ducked to the side, looking at the head "Ohhhh man...This should be fun!" He laughed as he pulled out his sword, knowing that he had to also use the sunshard to seer the cut over. He yawned and waited for its next move "You know, I would have thought you would have been smarter" He mocked

The head that had bitten into a rotten tree instead of the pony hissed at him, the other four heads roared out a challenge in angry striking at him all at once. They came on their long necks, two from the water and two from the bushes, they had various scratches along the neck that smell rotten and infected. But it was a magical creature and was still very strong despite it's wounds.

Embers tilted his head and laughed "Whats the matter, dog got your head" He smiled as he ran at one of the heads, ducking just under the reach of one of them, turning around and plunging his sword as had as he could through the head, praying that it would fall off, then using his sun shard to follow it up

Steel sighed "I did it after Luna" steel sent the though when she ordered him to stay alive he sighed "yes my princess" steel pulled the blade out if him and felt it tearing his flesh he clutched his stomach and waited

"Alright... lets go." She didn't remember Steel, but she didn't care either. He had done some horrible things. Being horribly mean to the fillies he was supposed to protect, and then leaving them to drink. 《Thank... you... *gasp* I'm going to sleep now... okay? I feel... like throwing up...》

The hydras scales slowed the sword but it still managed to cut all the way through. The hydra squealed and pulled away from Embers looking at the severed head and sealed stump of a neck. The four heads cried out and attacked one after another, not letting Embers slow to cut off another head or stop moving for a second.

 

Wanderlust looked over his shoulder at Melody, "okay, you can sleep I'll carry you but if you have to puke, aim for my back not the saddlebag." He tried to put humor in his voice, "can't have anything in there getting dirty" he chuckled.

 

Luna sent a thought to Steel, "that's the last order from me you'll have to follow Steel, stay alive to see this mission through. You won't have to call me princess or ever serve an other order from me again. I'll let you quit like you wanted to before, but stay alive until this is over. From now on you're no longer my soldier just my friend."

Embers kept running, he had to find some way to make them slow down, but they came so fast. luckaly, they were a bit clumsy, otherwise he would have long been dead. As he ran, he though "Hmmmm...You guys should slow down, ill give you my orange warm thingy if you do, just stop!"

The hydra did not pause at the ponies words, it heard them and understood them but it did not care. It wanted the shiny warm thing but it also wanted to eat this pony and this pony had used the shiny warm thing to hurt it. So now it would hurt the pony, eat the pony and have the shiny warm thing, it wouldn't stop until it had done all three of those tasks.

Luna thought at Steel 'You can be my soldier if you feel you have to be, but I can't be a princess anymore. Grell brought me back but it cost me my wings. I'm not an alicorn so I'm not a princess.' She wondered to herself if there were anymore princesses left in the world, if twilight might be alive somewhere. She doubted it though, Twilight Sparkle had never been tardy and arrive with impeccable timing as a princess, if she was out there she would have found Luna by now. No she mused this was now a world without a princess to lead it.

Embers laughed "Ok ok, fine, I get that you wanna eat me, we can make a deal! You let my friends past...and You can eat me! JUST PLEASE STOP BLOODY ATTACKING" It was all he could do to stop the heads from biting his, he kept jumping and dodgeing, but he knew one of them would hit him soon

One of the four heads stopped attacking and rose straight up looking about and sniffing the air, trying to figure out where these friends might be. It rarely had the chance to enjoy pony flesh especially recently, so the chance at a feast of pony made it's stomach growl in longing. The three other heads kept attacking one after another though their pace was slower. Too far way from the group to smell or see them instead the searching head turned toward the Everfree forest it smelled some pony in there. But that was too far away, it would eat this pony with the shiny thing first then find and eat the other pony.

Embers smiled "Ok ok, Sure, I wont kill any more of your heads, you can eat me, blablalba...But...there is one think I would like to ask you" Embers said as he jumped, dodgeing attacks from head after head "Jeeze, you sure are bloody fast, you should chill before"

The hydra was starting to get angry, why did this food keep talking and not die and be eaten. It did not talk anymore, it could not talk anymore, it just wanted to eat and become stronger and eat.

 

But the anger made it's three heads try to pick up the pace and catch the pony, but that rush made it sloppy. One attacking head missed and then slammed into a tree as it withdrew; this caused it to swing out and tangle with another striking head knocking them together and leaving only one head on the attack.

Luna tried to put humor into her thoughts at Steel to cover her worry, 'now I know you must be going into shock and feeling delusional. You always fought to do what was right for Equestria, not for me. You never liked having to serve me; you even went off on your own in the end because you couldn't stand my orders anymore.' She knew what she was saying wasn't true, that it was all in the playful banter they had developed, but to hear him breaking that banter and acting this way scared her.

 

She realized how much thinking she was dead had affected him and how much his death would truly affect her. 'You hang in there Steel. Take it however you want, if you need to be my soldier then I order you to live, and if you want to have the freedom from my orders and be your own soldier than you better live cause I'll let you have it. Just live for the worlds sake and mine.'

 

She had all sorts of emotions raging through her and didn't want to show it to her girls; so instead covered it up by feeling anger and taking it out on Wanderlust. She gave him a harsh look, "I don't know how I feel about a Wytch carrying my daughter. You failed to mention you use pagan magic... You know that could be a threat to this groups mission."

 

Wanderlust's face flushed, he knew how dangerous Caribou magic was and the rumors of what happened to ponies that used natural or dark magics. He simply hung is head and didn't respond, he didn't know how to justify what had happened, he didn't remember why he had just done something so dangerous. 'Maybe I am a threat to the group,' he thought unsure of himself.

Embers waited untill the head came, jumped into the air, he stumbed a bit though, sliding in the sluge. As he skidded, he put his sunshard right next to his sword, making it so the sunshard would follow up his sword, hoping to kill it he swing his sword down at its head as it came at him the next time
