The OOC Thread

Note: Italic text=Ao (me), bold text=ACTs, and normal text=everything else.

A multitude of stars dotted the endless tapestry of the Void. Worlds spun lazily around the suns and upon some worlds mortals toiled and worked. They worshipped gods which had long since perished and sang songs that had been old thousands of years ago. Only a few of the wiser mortals could read the omens around them, and they were the only ones who grew ill at ease as each year the suns grew a bit dimmer and days grew a little colder. It was these few that were not surprised when one day the sun chose not to rise at all.

Existence had already taken root, but it was over and its gods had moved on and Ao grew restless in the Void. Without a second thought Ao began to wipe the slate clean. Stars flickered out at the far edges of creation and moons shattered to dust and even the dust was swept away by nothingness. The great purging of the Void moved inward and spared nothing. The physical was wiped away and not even a memory was left. The immaterial was not spared either and though it could not be seen by mortal eyes, it too was scoured from the face of the Void.

If the wise men had remained at the end of the day that had not dawned, they would have nodded sagely and said "It comes full circle."

Once again the Void was cleansed and barren. Not a trace, nor echo was left of the previous works of existence. There was no light, nor dark, no up or down, only a vast expanse of nothing and Ao to behold it. But this did not last long and the utter Nothing of the Void would be passing as well. Before returning to his quiet role Ao took one last moment to fashion a new set of gods. Some of them using traces of things from the past, others entirely new, but all of them full of endless potential and granted the power to set the machinations of existence spinning once again.

It comes full circle. Welcome to the Void.

OOC: All gods begin with two Acts rather than the customary one. One Act is a Creation Act. This must be used to work towards creating a working sandbox and should be universal, something that is useful for everyone in getting up and going. Think, water, air, land, trees, animals. If this Creation Act is not spent by Tuesday it is burned off and becomes a normal third Act. The second Act you have today is a normal Act and may be spent as you see fit.

Ishmael looked over the field of earth that had suddenly sprung up. He floated far above it, his arms and legs currently sending smoke down as to hide his entire body save the front and back of his chest. His head resembled smoke with a single red dot acting as his eye looking in all directions. He pulled away his arm from the mass of smoke and waved it ahead of him. "As it is, there shall be nothing that can be done. I call upon the brilliant light of days past to rise and set in opposite sides of the field of earth, where the direction shall be called north and south respectively."

A blazing ball of light appeared in the distance, sending light across the field from the north as it rose for the first time.

Seeing that there was something for the field to be visible, Ishmael created a chair of smoke out of his own body and sat down to wait for other changes to happen.

Noticing a plane, Butios floated above it. It was interesting, and seemed to go in all directions. He then saw the huge ball of light, and he got an idea. On the plane, a hot, bright material appeared. It was of the color orange, a beautiful, bright orange. It could change forms to something wide and tall, and could consume other materials. It could cause pain to anything that touches it. It could spread onto whatever it touched and turn it to ash. He named it "Fire".

Butios created a dangerous object, naming it "Fire".

Butios laughed inside, hoping for something to touch his new toy.

Asatya:

Looking across the Void, Asatya decides that something should be put in place to walk on. He envisions a flat layer of solid earth expanding to infinity in all directions.

Asatya creates a field of earth.

And so with the awakening of the first god comes the first creation. An endless expanse of earth stretches as far as the eye can see with the inky blackness of the void hanging overhead. The earth is a uniform brown, and as it settles the other gods yet sleep

Ishmael:

Ishmael looked over the field of earth that had suddenly sprung up. The second god's awakening brought with it the first light. The great blazing sphere found its home in the void floating above the endless plain. As the sun lazes through the void and eventually comes to touch the earth it was previously showering light upon, it begins burning its way into the plain. Due to the plain being endless the sun must eventually settle into the earth itself and pass through it in an arc to rise again. The earth above the sun as it moves through the dirt caves in on itself no longer supported from below, creating a grand fissure surrounded by scorched earth and a glassy substance. The sun eventually rises again finding its home in the sky once more.

Butios:

Butios created a dangerous object, naming it "Fire".

Butios laughed inside, hoping for something to touch his new toy.

The glory of the fire found itself extinguished as quickly as it had been created. Without a fuel to burn it simply fizzeled away into nothingness. Although this fire may have died the concept of fire shall live on, and its destructive force shall be felt throughout the aeons to come.

Asatya looks at the light and enjoys its glow. At least know his glassy orbs for eyes can see something. He moves his rocky contruct across the plane, pondering his existence in the void. It is then that Asatya discovers the fire that was created. After studying it, Asatya decides to come up with a substance that can destroy this fire. He doesn't know why he wants to do this. He seems to just want to simply annoy the other creator for the fun of it.

Ryadin, seeing the barren field of earth, envisioned it one day being inhabited by small, living creatures. However, the demise of the fire Butios created made him aware of the necessity of a way to sustain these creatures. He thus blanketed the earth in a thick layer of many gases, to allow those living creatures to escape that fate that met the fire.

Ryadin creates the world's atmosphere.

Asatya creates water

The creation of water is both magnificient and powerful. The power of a god is immense, and through such a simple command as the creation of water a grand flood crashes across the plain. The gods are submerged as the massive tidal waves roil around them, no sound is heard but the vibrations can be felt in the ground below. Eventually the waters settle, filling up the grand gorge first and then creating a grand ocean that stretches far into the distance around the fissure.

Ryadin creates the world's atmosphere.

The various gases mix and mingle freely above the plain and ocean, though with no force holding them down their tendency to rise causes them to disappear into the inky blackness of the void. Some of these gases come into contact with the sun, which at this time is halfway though its path in the sky slowly approaching the ocean. This creates spectacular light shows as the gases combust.

Seeing the plane devoid of life, Zalgo creates a small organism. Simple, but it can multiply to great amounts and survive in harsh environments. He spreads hundreds across the bodies of water created by Asatya. He looks at the large numbers of his creation, and it quenches his greed.

Noticing the gases and water, an idea sprang into Butio's mind. He wanted to mix them together. Above the land, a big puffy object began to form. It was black, and menacing. (Dats right, I ain't makin' no white shit.) Most mortals would fall through it, if given the chance to stand on it. Butio called it a cloud.

Butio creates a cloud.

He stared at his work and frowned. Hopefully this one didn't disappear as quickly as his Fire.

Zalgo creates Bacteria

The bacteria making their home within the ocean find it quite welcoming, able to survive off of the water and light from the sun alone. The bacteria on land however do not fare so well. Those near the ocean are able to eke out a hard existance, while the others which are unable to receive water die off. The ocean dwelling bacteria quickly spread across the surface and under the flat expanse to about 50 ft. Below this depth the lack of light (the mud has settled now leaving the water clear) keeps the bacteria from proliferating. The sun continues on its path, coming ever closer to the ocean.

A massive cloud forms binding water and gas to create something in between. This cloud floats lazily above the ocean not moving due to the lack of outside forces to act upon it, but not rising due to the weight of the water. Eventually the cold of the void overpowers the heat of the sun and causes the water within the cloud to precipitate out. The rain pounds heavily upon the ocean's surface, but still no sound can be heard. As the rain falls the ocean begins to heat up more and more as the sun draws ever nearer.

Smiling broadly at the creations of the other gods, Arkra notices that though the light shows and glorious brightness of life and water is fantastic, something is missing. The gears are in motion, and yet they do not move perfectly. It is silent, even if it is more colourful. This irritates her quite a bit. This visual beauty must be supplemented by another sort of beauty. Perhaps... aural.

Arkra creates sound in attempts to fill the void of silence.

With that the world suddenly came alive with sound, the water still falling from the massive storm cloud began droning. The nearby sun drowned the rain out with the sound of crackling fire. The sun, nearing the ocean even more now as the water begins to bubble and steam from the intense heat. Another sound is given voice as well, the sound of death. Bacteria unaccustomed to such intense heat die in droves, simply melting into the liquid around them. It is a quiet sound beneath the roar of the others, but it is audible to the gods nonetheless.

Ryadin cocked his head. "The bacteria used to be alive," he remarked. "What happens to it now? Does it go back to a state of unliving? No, it appears to be disappearing from existence-that should not happen. There must be somewhere living creatures go when they cease to be."

Ryadin creates another plane of existence he calls Death, a state of non-living that living creatures disappear to when they are slain.

And so the first god to bend the universe does so. The resounding boom made possible by the creation of sound silences even the god's ears for a few moments. Space had been twisted and folded to create a land seperate from reality, yet real in its own right. A place where the dead would find themselves once they had passed on. This plane fills with more and more bacteria as the sun continues to approach the ocean. Water begins evaporating at an alarming rate and the wet earth is quickly drying and cracking.

Maat sat, unpleased with the dullness of the universe. The burning sun had destroyed the possibility of creation, dissolving any item it touches, dooming the lands the Gods had dutifully created to a crispy fate. But Maat was set to stop it. In his greatness, he rose from the ground an indescribable force, a force that pulled and pushed the largest masses of The Void. A force that exhausted his very existence.

Gravity, in its true form, exploded across the universe to attempt to stop the careening sun from crashing into the world, and to hold the gasses and the creatures onto the land.

Gravity, in its true form, exploded across the universe to attempt to stop the careening sun from crashing into the world, and to hold the gasses and the creatures onto the land.

With the creation of the first true physical law of the universe, everything changed. The massive force of gravity first fought against the endless earth, one facet of reality must inevitably give in. The plain was endless, which created paradoxes with the introduction of gravity. Suddenly the great expanse began to crack, and shatter. Every piece of earth pulling on another, forcing them every which way. Great pieces of earth came undone being pulled towards the sun above due to it being the most powerful in terms of gravitational strength. Soon a great shell of earth had formed around the sun hardening from the heat forming a layer of new substance called stone. This in turn was covered with dirt until the whole sun was encased. All was dark again, but now in the inky blackness there stood a grand sphere of earth and stone with a heart of fire. Apart from this major sphere many smaller spheres had formed comprised only of dirt. They floated around one another crashing and spinning wildly as if in some passionate dance. Many of these smaller spheres were pulled towards the great one, creating hundreds of satellites as they circled their mother while others simply floated in the Void. The majority of the water had found its way to the great sphere and now blanketed its body filling the deeper holes of the planet forming great oceans. The introduction of gravity also allowed the gas that had previously been lost to the Void to find a home on the great sphere. The gravitational pull was strong enough to keep the flamboyant material to itself. The plane of the dead filled with more bacteria as many died in the incident, although some still survive off of the water and heat provided by the new planet's core.

Thokal opened his eyes, he saw that the others had already created, and destroyed things. But yet, everything was plunged in darkness. He felt that there was gravity and somehow understood how it worked. So he thought about how to change all this, he then had an Idea. He would use his powers to force several of the floating rocks crashing together.

The shock dispersed the heavy parts away, but left was a huge mass of gas which started to draw together with the force of gravity, suddenly self-igniting.

Asatya had been pulled onto the new sphere. This force of gravity perplexed him, but he decided that its workings were not malignant. Looking back on other creations, Asatya decided what to do next. He thought to himself, "So far both of my creations I made simply for my personal enjoyment. I made the plain for me to walk on, and I made water just to destroy fire if it were to ever come back. My next creation will be the mountains of this new world. I will make them out of the same amythest that make up my eyes, and they will rise above the world for all to see.

Ishmael looked over at the now mostly dark sky. He had seen his magnificent Creation be perverted by dirt and rock and all that, which had not made him happy. He thought for a moment, about making holes directly to the center to allow his Creation's beauty to show through the ground, but he decided with this essence of gravity, anything could go wrong. Instead he called upon his power and looked at the burnt water, deciding that it too should change. "From Asatya's water, turn into my own water vapor, which condenses into the Butio's clouds created, which then rains down upon the earth again, resetting the cycle."

Ishmael began the cycle of water.

Seeing how the process worked, he sat down yet again, content that he had merged not one, but two other Creations with his one new Creation to create an endless cycle, endless like he.

Thokal has been thinking for a moment, wondering what he should do, should he do anything? As the world was not infinite anymore he thought of adding additional borders, after all things could interesting. The new border should be Time, as nothing should be immortal like they are. Immortality should belong solely to the gods.

Thokal started of the never ending clock which is Time.

Acastus:

Acastus Looks at the ball of fire and thinks "Would it not kill everyliving thing on this plain" He then had an idea of shield of some kind to protect the lands from the harmfullness of the sun

A massive sun even larger than the first forms from the multidudenous gases still floating in the Void. This sun dwarfs the newborn planet and easily draws it into an orbit around itself. Some moons of the planet are pulled away while others stay behind, leaving the planet with around 40 moons of varying shapes and sizes. The heartless planets floating about in the Void are either forced into the sun's orbit or are consumed by its flame. This new "center" of all that is slowly begins to rotate around its axis, pulling its children with it in a celestial dance.

Asatya:

Asatya had been pulled onto the new sphere. This force of gravity perplexed him, but he decided that its workings were not malignant. Looking back on other creations, Asatya decided what to do next. ASATYA CREATES THE MOUNTAINS OF AMYTHEST

The fires from within the earth suddenly erupt through the crusts shooting up in magnificient columns rending the planets surface. Normally this would only have formed simple stone but the will of the gods can work marvels. The fires subside and in their wake stood mountains of beautiful violet crystal which spread in arcing patterns all across the surface of this world.

Ishmael:

Ishmael looked over at the now mostly dark sky. He had seen his magnificent Creation be perverted by dirt and rock and all that, which had not made him happy. And so begins the water cycle, which like the gods shall last until all is wiped away or its very essence is destroyed. The water from the oceans evaporates from the heat of the new sun and forms the clouds, this new sun also heats the gases creating the winds through low and high pressures. These winds blow the clouds every which direction across the surface of the planet delievering water wherever they went. The new mountains create rainshadows in some places due to their immense height, and thus block water from crossing their peaks.

As the gases of the new planet settle they begin to form a close layer around the planet. With the introduction of water vapor into the sky alongside the gases, the light of the sun creates colors which change throughout the day including brilliant sunsets and sunrises. The light of the sun on the mountains also creates a smattering of rainbows to complement the new colors in the sky.

Thokal:

Thokal has been thinking for a moment, wondering what he should do, should he do anything? Thokal started of the never ending clock which is Time.

And so the wheels of time begin their motion, marking the beggining and end of all things to come. No longer shall events take place in limbo, but be marked down among the endless pages of the book of time. Along with death time ensures that all existance shall eventually end, all life shall die. Aside from the gods that is, for only when existance itself ceases shall the gods cease to be.

Lycantheo finally awakens and sees such a sight, then realizes he wants eagerly to create.

He finds the planet with water and an atmosphere and decides to make the tiny creatures on it last longer, and creates a layer in its gas-filled atmosphere that will protect the planet from too much heat from its large, newborn sun.

Lycantheo creates the Ozone layer. (Creation ACT.)

Then, after thinking for a while, he wants the other spheres of stone to revolve around the star too, not just the planet. So he takes 6 of them and fuses them together, making one bigger planet, even bigger than the original planet. He thens sets it adrift to orbit its sun, farther away from the other planet. He does this 2 more times, and is finally satisfied at his impact on the new solar system.

Lycantheo fuses many of the moons from the original planet together to create 3 new planets that will orbit as well. (Normal ACT.)

Lycantheo fuses many of the moons from the original planet together to create 3 new planets that will orbit as well. (Normal ACT.)

A portion of the atmosphere began to alter, changing in composition so as to be a shield to the planet below from the sun's more destructive rays. This lessening heat slows the process of the water cycle slightly and tames some of the more powerful storms and winds, thus creating a more mild environment. This allows for the bacteria to quickly mutliple and spread over much of the planet which receives more consistent rains. Another side affect of less heat is the creation of very cold areas surrounding the northern and southern poles, any water present there quickly freezes into thick ice and rain freezes into snow. A very warm ring around the center of the planet also forms where bacteria are able to thrive.

The three new planets join their own orbits shortly and pull many moons towards themselves both from the original planet and the Void. This leaves the original planet with only two moons to call its own, which now have begun acting upon the oceans creating a tidal cycle of highs and lows. Now the four planets all orbit the sun, the original being the second outwards. These new planets are devoid of water, atmosphere, bacteria, cores, moutains, and are much larger than the first.
