Seth looked at the alicorn for a moment, then realized she was being sincere. He extended his paw and met it with Bliss's and shook it. 

 

"I swear by the the brethren of the Wolfpack, I swear on the honor of my kin, I swear to you that I will right the wrong that I have done to you." Seth said, firmly gripping Bliss's hoof. "I... I owe you much more than that, but first, I promise to get you back to your rightful stancher." He said, as he attempted to stand, only resulting in him to fall over in pain.

Stay with me Seth...*she comforted him nervously* Forgive me for hurting you... I was...scared and out of control, did not know what was happening to me... Prehaps that is the key to defeating...whatever this is, that has a grasp on us...Figure it out what it is...

 

*She looked at him for a moment, seeing his eyes filled with concern* I know... what you and Volt did...you felt was the only course of action... *Smiled gently and nuzzled his cheek* You are both brave for doing so...and I owe you both my life...It is I that should swear to you... on my life as an Alicorn, that I will do everything in my power to help you.

 

*She pushed herself up against his body till he was standing on all fours properly* Will that injury heal? Or do you need time? Quite honestly I was able to restrain my darker self but I don't know for how long... my alicorn magic seems to be unpredictable.

Seth groaned as he stood properly, not trusting his wounded leg. "It should heal, but I might need your help for a bit" the wolf said, accepting the assistance of Bliss. "But, I want to say something before you go on trusting me. It was true what he said... about me giving myself the curse. If you want to know the story, you deserve to know.

 

"As for what we do, I truthfully don't know. We could return to Canterlot to request the help of the other princesses. I truthfully don't know what to do. I wasn't been able to cure, let alone effect this until you ponies showed up." He said, giving Bliss a slight smile.

I am curious I have to admit...Why would any being wish for this evilness upon them unless they felt they had no way out from it...Yes I would like to hear your story, *she encouraged him to lay down on the porch* maybe there's clues in your story that can help me figure out a way to stop this... Not to mention... should your evil self emerge again... I need to be ready for him...

Seth looked at the mare with a face of disappointment. "To know what happened, you need to know a bit of my history. Roughly two years ago, I was on a peace mission with the Wolven Empire to established a lasting peace accord. Long story short, it worked, exept that my brother gave his life to save mine. I returned home for his funeral. Needless to say, I was depressed. Before being a diplomat, I was a scientist for the military.  So, when the diplomat gig was over, I returned to my work. Before leaving, I was given a job to working on weaponizing a biotech element. At the time, I deemed it 'immoral'. But now, I was depressed, so I didn't care. I worked on it for a month as a shrink got into my head and got me to ralise that I should accept Dawn's death. The day I was deemed sane, I was going to shut down the lab. As I looked over the experiment, I read over a report a partner left me. He said that it showed mass muscle growth and and stamina increase. It also increased mental aptitude, and awareness.

 

"I... saved it, thinking it might be useful one day. I left the lab and returned to wolven diplomatic work. A week in, I was requested to return to Equestria. Thinking that I needed to be more powerful in order to protect myself, I decided to take the dose. At first, I felt great. Then it hit. I felt a thirst of blood. I couldn't understand it, so I talked to a contact in a lab in ponyville. I did bloodwork and found that I was already infected with the vampire plague, but the new virus amplified the dormant life form. So, I guess I was the cause of it."

 

When Seth finished his story, he sat on the floor, somewhat glad he was a able to tell his story to a pony that he trusted.

*She stared at him for a moment or two, then looked down at her hooves, pawing the dark, slighly iced over, old wood of the cabin porch...pondering his story.*

 

Then...*she concluded after awhile of thinking* That...depressing was your own...the anger and bitterness was your own...The vampire disease impulse merely enhanced it, like a steroid! *She leapt up then, thinking she had a break through...then sat down again realizing her own horror*

 

Then that means...my darker self... Blight... thats what she calls herself... she is....She is me... *a tear dripped down her cheek as she teleported her hood and cape from out of the cabin and onto her body. She pulled the hood down, hiding most of her face in shame, only her tiny muzzle exposed...She sat there in silence with him, sobbing quietly as she tried to grasp the situation...Thoughts of her passed seemed to flicker past her shut eyes as she meditated. Images of her deceased father Fire Strength...to the gryphon terrorist attack on her and her friends... Skylar being stabbed in the chest mortally...and that she gave part of her soul to save his...her first step to her alicorn ascention she couldnt' begin to realize... Then the battle between Night Light's mother, Prya of the wyvern dragon clans...fighting the Eastern Gryphon Army...that she some how, with the love and strength of her fiance and friends... was able to stop the war and heal the wounded and bring back the dead...thanks to that sacred ground and its powers that she somehow had connection to. Then without much warning she was ascended...

 

Thoughts of regret and bitterness echoed in her head...She wasn't ready to be declared an alicorn, let alone a princess. She had no interest in negotiating between gryphon empires and dragon clans. She just wanted to get married to her dragon husband...fly back to Ponyville with her friends and celebrate with her remaining family at their cave up in the mountains...She was going to be an artiest and paint, sell her work...and he was going to be a teacher, and help other ponies while they tour in the town. But now, as she continued to think...all those hopes seemed so belittle and far away. The world was bigger now, and more overwhelming*

 

I don't...understand why this is upsetting me more then it should... *she finally spoke after sevearl minutes* I guess... it's like how I felt when I first ascended...The fear and unknown, the unprepared feeling and responsibility of what I have become...What I realize that I have become... Now I'm coming to terms all over again that I have this...evilness inside me...and it scares me greatly...But *she placed a hoof on his paw then* I think I'm now realizing we all have this kind of evil inside us. That its a part of our souls whether we like it or not...what matters is what we choose to act on... Our dark sides...or our light sides...We may not be able to be rid of our darker selves Seth... But we can be rid of the disease that has taken a hold on our bodies...

*He looks at volt and shakes his head and looks down to his wing, stopping for a second as he spoke* I think it's okay for a the moment... the bandage seems to be holding it in place... it's painful but not unbearable ....  *Nuzzles into the stallion, trying to keep him warm*   Your right, we need to focus on our survival, if we stayed there we would have been killed, lets try and make it to the town, get the vaccine... if there is one... and bring it back to Bliss.... as for Seth... well...   *Shakes his head and sighs as the canter side by side again, the cold wing streaming their manes behind them*  He has tricked us twice now.... perhaps he is beyond saving

 

*They continued to gallop on against the howling wind and lashing snow, each step drained him a little and already he was beginning to feel weary, comes to a halt hanging his head down and panting, wincing as pain shoots through his wing* Sorry *Pants* Friend.... Just need a little break... I'm feeling a bit... *Coughs and shivers, looks up at the blue stallion and tries to grin*  ... Never mind *Sighs and nuzzles into him gently, closing his eyes* We need to keep going... for Bliss sake   *Turns his head back in the direction of the cabin, now long out of side, he mutters to himself* Stay safe sis

"if.. if you want we can stay for a while.. the storm and the sow will cover our smell and our hoofsteps... but the forest will protect us from the wind at least... just tell me ok? "

 

smiled Volt again, he knew that the situation where almost without hope, but being negative never helps, and he knew that

 

"at least now this storm is our friend after all... can you do it friend? i can't walk very well after.. well you know what Seth did to me... but i can fly.. i may try to bring you on my back... if it is not a problem for you i mean... just.. just tell me whatever you need ok?"

Seth pondered what Bliss had said. He had mixed emotions on the situation at paw. They, (or at least Bliss) needed a cure for this, and they were in the middle of a tundra. He continued to think of situations of how to return to the way it was before all this happened. Before the violence. Before the blood lust. Thinking of nothing better, the wolf thought it better if to elaborate on the vampire plague, as to there being more clues to it's downfall.

 

"The vampire curse is not anything magical, it's biological... or at least it was." Seth said, recalling his knowledge of it. "The disease it self died out nearly a thousand years ago after the near eradication of the wolves during the Great Wolven War. All who survived were were immune to it after a medical team found the cure. Since the population was cured and the disease wiped clean off the planet, the information was lost. I have it still... because I am a lone survivor of that war..." He said, hoping Bliss would not go into detail of the subject.

*Inspite she could sense his emotions whether she wanted to or not, and as much as her curiostiy peeked her...she could tell he didn't want her to ask him about the war, and instead, focused on the task at hand...*

 

Well, I remember before, when i healed Volt... it was a out of pure reflex and push by Night Wolfe. He insised that my alicorn magic would eraticate the vampire evil within him...And it did! But I still don't understand how or why, and it was a huge risk to be sure! I mean Volt... his heart... i stabbed him RIGHT IN THE HEART SETH!

 

*She stood up then and began to trot in front of him in the snow, going back and forth in a pace* I can't just turn and stab YOU in the heart... thats like...murder...not to mention there's no guarentee it would work now, since I too now have this disease... But if it did work... it would cure you, but we'd still be left with me to deal with...and for all I know my darker self wants me to do this...maybe she's playing possum in my mind and... GAH *her large ears perk out of her hood and flick back flat on her head then up again, emphansizing her frustration...as well as a growing hunger...*

Seth began to think, not noticing Bliss's rage.

 

"Hmm... you might hate me for sugjesting a stupid idea like this... but I do have one." Seth said. "As you said, we need an alicorn to cure us. You doubt that your powers can do it due to being potentially corrupted. What if... we go to the crystal empire? Shining armor owes me a large favor." Seth said, standing up.

Shining Armor and Princess Cadence? *She stopped and stared at him surprised... trying to ignore the growing hunger*

 

But wouldn't that be dangerous? Especially if we told them or..."him" in particular about the dangerous situation? *Paws the ground* And i've never met the Prince and Princess... alicorn or not I'm a low ranked Princess as it is and... *she blushed* I've never really set foot in a palace before...What if- *she stuttered and began to whimper some, feeling embrassed* Sorry... some alicorn I am...too scared to see royalty when I'm considered royalty...

 

But in all honesty, I'm corrupted royalty... I might as well be... Nightmare Moon...

"You, corrupted?" Seth asked. "Bliss, you are still the loving peaceful mare I met a few days ago. The only difference is that you are the one taking care of me." He said, smiling at her. He wanted her to be happy, it was the only way to fight anything: staying positive.

 

"About the prince of the empire... Me and him go back a bit. He has been owing me a favor for the past to years and I think curing a vampire and werewolf would be sufficient." the wolf explained, looking at Bliss. "Plus, there aren't that many princesses out there. Cadence is like family to you. And if that doesn't help, I am a high ranking diplomat, so I can request an audiance with any member of the royal family. Seeing how the empire is so close, I thought it would be best." He finished.

"Well, that's the easy part. You carry me, I guild you." Seth said with a smile. "It's basically strait south from here. I can easily get you from point A to point B." As he stood, he noticed that his leg was healed to the point where he could tolerate the pain. He looked at Bliss, catching something... off in her eye. "Are you ok, Bliss?" the wolf asked.

OUCH NO! *she skidded just mere inches from his face* OUCH OUCH!!! *she pulled her head away trying to keep her mouth shut but the fangs made it difficult*

 

They are hurting me! This hunger! *her stomach growled loudly that even he could hear* These fangs... this hunger... its like the vampire disease reallly doesn't have a mind of its own...It almost felt like the fangs were gonna jump out of my mouth! Seth... *she quivered her lip as she stared at him... Her eyes filled with terror, not hunger, but her body said the opposite* How do...how do I control it...? It's hurting...so bad...

Seeing his fried in pain, Seth knew what to do. "Bliss... I'm sorry for doing this, but trust me here." He said. He placed a paw over his wounded shoulder, then with a swift action, ripped at the repairing flesh. As fresh blood began to stream from the wound, he looked from the painful cut over to the terrified Bliss.

 

"This is the only way I've been able to control myself... I don't bite ponies, I merely cut them. It's the blood that we need." He said, forcing himself to lie on the floor. He then presented the blood to Bliss, hoping for the least amount of pain.

Nnnoo...*she tried to look away but the eyes already saw what he did, now the vampire instinct to survive was in control* I...don't...*walks towards the wound and lies next to him, her tongue extended out quivering to lap the nutritious blood* don't...want to...*The fangs extended and forced her forward, digging in like little needles easily into the open wound...once in she settled slightly as she began to suckle*

 

*She held firm...doing her  best not to move, making it least painful as possible to Seth*

 

Make...make me stop...I don't...know if...I can... *her fangs continued to push deeper, the blood slipping easily down into her throat...the hunger growing less and less...*

As he felt the licks of his blood, Seth flinched as every tong-stroke lapped away his blood. At least it wasn't too painful. That is, until the fangs sliced through the muscle of his arm and more blood began spray out of his side.

 

"Ahh!" he yelled as he tried to keep still for Bliss. As he began to feel a bit clouded from the blood loss, he was able to contain his screams. "Bliss...just finish your... thirst..." He strained himself to say.

*Her eyes began to glow green... a certain lust and thrill as she felt the blood fill her with energy...* This is...amazing...*she drew in further and further...Till a flash of her horn snapped her back to reality* GAH

 

*Flies off of him quickly, wiping the blood from her muzzle. The fangs appeared to protest and stretch outward again till she managed to snap her mouth shut, firmly telling her teeth instinctually to back off*

 

Grrr....*shakes from the effort to control the hunger* That's...enough *relaxes slowly and shakes herself to loosen up* Seth...thank you...that...helped alot thanks. But gods... I never want to do it again...The sooner we can get to the Crystal Empire, the better. *She approached the wolf and looked at his wound...seeing that her fangs had done more damage then she realized* Oh gods Seth...your arm... i didn't mean to-

The pain wasn't as bad as the wolf thought it was going to be, or it might have been the lack of blood to his brain that was numbing out the pain. He looked up at Bliss, his head wobbling slightly.

 

"Don't..m...mention it." He half stuttered as if he was drunk. "You...looked like you needed it." As he looked at the alicorn, fangs extended, his mind wandered. "You now... for a griffon ,you are pretty hot." the wolf said, a stupid grin plastered on his face. "No really. I would kiss you right now if it wasn't for this Bliss pony. She was around here a minute ago." He said, his head beginning to bob. "Ya... I think she was into me. Why else would a pony nibble on a wolf's fer so long that it began to bleed?" He said, gesturing to the leg wound. As he did so, he lost what remained of his balance and fell over on his side. "You know what... I think I'll just lie down for a while..." Seth said before falling asleep.

Princess Lightning Bliss Night Lights.

 

*She placed the quill down, and took a deep breath, then scanned the cabin for a blanket.* If I can find a blanket big enough to hold seth, I could tie it around my neck and fly us there... But... how do I get to the Crystal Empire? *She scanned the cabin again, finding a tossed blanket on a table, followed, to her joy, a map of the land of Equestria*

 

Thank Celestia and Luna! *she levitated the parchment of map over and looked it over*

 

 

*She looked over the map, and pinpointed their location...* Oh wow...its quite a flight...but...NO *She stomped her hoof and teleported her staddle bags onto her back from her bedroom, rolling up the map and placing it into one of the bag slots.* I cannot afford to doubt my flying abilities... This is a matter of life or death for two beings...and I will NOT give up! As my father's soul is my witness...Fire Strength...*She placed her hoof over her heart* Father...I feel the fire of your courage and pride burn within me... I won't fail you...*She then gathered up the blanket and galloped back outside. It was finally morning, and a light bit of snow was starting to fall. It was already covering Seth's body somewhat. She smiled and patted his head, then with common magic percision, teleported the blanket under Seth's sleeping form, levitated it around him securely, then tied the ends around her neck*

 

This is gonna take a bit of effort...*she heaved in some air, then leapt to the sky, hovering a few seconds to adjust to the weight, then flew north...towards the Crystal Empire*

As Seth's body was lifted into the air, his mind began to dream.

 

The wolf found himself in the blank snowy canvas again, nothing else in sight.

 

"I was waiting for you." A familiar voice called. Seth turned to see his shadow-self, snacking on a discarded caucus of a animal. There was something odd about Lust, but Seth couldn't put his claw on it.

 

"So now you are in my dreams? I thought this was the one time I got to be alone." He groaned.

 

"As did I." Lust replied, standing from his meal. "Apparently, that little blood offering of yours helped me out. She injected a bit of the curse back into you."

 

"I assumed that much." The pure wolf called. "So, why did you want to chat?"

 

"Oh, I just wanted to give you a heads up." The dark wolf called, walking over to Seth. He reaped a paw over Seth's face in an intimidating fashion. Seth jerked his head away and glared at the dark-wolf, noticing what the difference was. The wolf had white highlights down it's body. "Oh, you noticed. Just a little after effect from helping out a friend. You've met Blight, haven't you?"

 

As he said that, an alicorn that looked nearly identical to Bliss walks up.

 

"What have you done to Bliss?" Seth demanded.

 

"Oh, nothing yet... I just wanted Blight here to have a second chance." Lust called, giving the alicorn a peck on the cheek. Blight gave a wolfish (when I say it, it's not racist.) smile to Lust and walked off.

 

"I hope you don't mind, Sethy. She mentioned that Bliss's dragon husband was not going to be happy about... well her. So, I was thinking..."

 

"You know I have somewolf back home, right?" Seth gowned.

 

"That's what makes it that much more fun!" Lust exclaimed. "She's just so feisty. I like that about her. anyway, I've given you the warning. You can go back to your 'real world'." Lust said, tapping Seth's head. When he did so, the would went blank.

*Every now and then the weight would get to her, making her bobble in mid flight from the efforts*

 

Gah...Blissy! You've been getting lazy in your own flying...You've relied too much on gryphon escorts and Nighty...what would he say if he saw you like this... *Paused a second as she continued to fly* Why am I even talking to myself... this as worse as...talking to...Blight...*She felt odd that the alicorn magic seemed to be restraining her darker self, to the point she could have sworn she wasn't even there in her mind anymore.* No... can't let my guard down...that darker self could burst forth any second...and if I'm not mentally prepared..nor will my magic... Must focus...must follow Seth's play... *pants as sweat builds up under her arms and wings*

Seth slowly began to stir, the rhythmic beets of Bliss's wings waking the wolf. As he slowly opened his eyes, he noticed he was covered in a warm blanket. He looked around to see Bliss over him, the blanket tied to her neck. He admired the view of the alicorn as she flew Celestia knows where. He then glanced below him, to see that he was at least 20 stories of the ground.

 

"What the F***!" he yelled, reacting to the sudden realization of his height. He had never been a fan of hights, that's why he never liked flying. As he squirmed in the blankest embrace, trying to get a better hold on it, he began to hyperventilate. "Oh shitshitshitshitshitshit..." He repeated to himself as he clung to the blanket.
