A possible explanation on MLP's timeline about its respective epoch

Many of us know Equestria is a magical land (it's said in the beginning), but due gadgets' presence throughtout the series we've been wondering about MLP's rightful epoch.

According to this link, ponykind is still in its Renaissance time. Now, considering this and the fact we're on 21st century, I can suppose the time they reach to their very own 21st century we'd be already on our 27th or 28th century (2600-2700). In other words, we would be a Type I civilization already, while ponykind would still remain on Type 0 category.

Now, how did those gadgets appeared in Equestria then?

 

Well, we can say that the same logic of Zero no Tsukaima: Human technology was accidentaly summoned or teleported to Equestria for X, Y or Z reason.

Your theory sounds correct. But, I think MLP takes place in the 19th century just how I see it.

Like most things with the show the writers keep it very vague. They show certain technology and don't show others. I'm not sure you can equate it with a specific human time.

I think it would be an alternate dimension with a different concept to time than we have... After all Manehattan has huge skyscrapers... So they can't be too non advanced... So yeah... Different concept of time

Well, seeing as how they have farms, and rather modern clothing, and CAMERAS, I think we're a bit ahead of Renaissance. We still have vinyl records instead of CDs, though, so they might be lagging behind a bit.

Personally, I think they have mid-late 20th century level technology, but for their society technology is just less important, so only prevalent in some places like Manehattan. In other places magic is preferred over technology, since both can be used to accomplish the same things, and magic has a more natural feel.

 

The impression I've gotten is that Equestria has whatever technology it is necessary to have, but not more. I think that this is evidenced by the way it tends to show up based on convenience relative to the plot of the given episode, and can vary from old-timey to fully contemporary, to even futuristic.
