Obviously, the biggest thing that has me so worked up was Pinkie Pie. Is she really trying to break Fluttershy by being so idiotic to her and being so god-damn inconsiderate to the poor pegasus being so stupid and a huge inconvenience throughout the episode and not only that but it was also her fault with Big Mac losing the turkey calling contest.

This episode, hands down, has the worst ever portrayal of her in the entire show. She's meant to be funny and all but she's literally pushing it and jumping the shark. What she did to Fluttershy was beyond terrible and we demand a complete apology from her for her stupid and inconsiderate behavior to her shy friend as well as the pink-maned party animal trying to find a way to earn Fluttershy's trust again.

Well, keep holding on to your demands, because I highly doubt it will be touched on again. Also what does her portrayal have to do with jumping the shark? I feel like many people just throw this term around without understanding its meaning. It refers to a major event in a show that marks that show's decline in quality. Quality is just as much objective as it is subjective, so jumping the shark is almost always debatable, and furthermore you can't tell if a show jumped a shark until after it has happened.

You were looking to say she has been flanderized or made into a lesser character, by becoming a one note joke. I disagree, she is inconsistently written, but not flanderized....at least, not yet. I also think an apology would be unnecessary since Pinkie knows she made a mistake, and Fluttershy wasn't even upset with her in the first place.

They needed a deep voice to replace Mac's, Fluttershy's voice "would've taken rearranging the music and [they] simply [didn't] have time."

Ouch I should more often visit the forum.

I know this. But I just really dislike this plot choice. I think that it would be better if she had to replace some female vocalist so she could use her natural beautiful voice.

Eh, I thought it was clever, because it also explains why her friends didn't recognize her voice (it dodged a possible plothole).

I don’t see the problem here. Just let the Rarity to be the only pony who discovers Fluttershy beautiful voice. She was involved in all of this anyway. Eventually she could have told others about this. Then Fluttershy should replace any of the female vocalists. This way we gain the opportunity for more focus on those two, we get rid of Pinkie bad behavior and the reaction of audience and the whole plot become more believable. I bet that you wouldn’t react with rapture when you would discover that one of the most girly girl in the town uses male voice to sing, no matter how good it sounded during the performance. The prolonged shock and consternation were more expected here, especially that only mane 6 have known about flutterguy from the past.

1. Fluttershy flat-out replacing the female vocalists misses the point of the episode.

2. The townspeople were shocked, but didn't care, because they don't judge. If they did I would've been disappointed.

3. If Fluttershy sang in her normal voice off-stage she would have been instantly recognized by her friends.

4. Pinkie could have been left out entirely, regardless.

5. The ending showed that she was even struggling with singing in front of her own friends.

Where in Tartarus did Fluttershy get such an extreme and crippling case of stage fright?!!

Fluttershy has song in front of other ponies, and her friends. She has been on a stage before. Heck she has been a model, walking down the walk way without fear (though she still did not enjoy it) and participated in the Hearth Warming Eve pageant. Though she showed nerviousness in being in front of so many ponies she did just fine once it started.

Hurricane Fluttershy established her stage fright. In that episode, her duty to help create the tornado (along with other ponies laughing at her) revived past memories of being bullied bullied for not being able to fly so well, turning "shyness" into something more emotionally crippling.

And one thing about about stage fright is that it's a phobia. It won't vanish immediately. It takes time to ease away from that phobia and become more self-confident. (I don't disagree about the extreme overlap of continuity, though.)

I would argue that stage fright* is a different sort of fear then that of what Fluttershy was experiancing when it came to flying in front of others and being afraid of ponies laughing at her. Perhaps they overlap a bit but I believe they are still quite different.

*stage fright

noun

nervousness before or during an appearance before an audience.

Now with definition, Flutteshy had a mild case of stage front before the Hearth Warming Eve pagent started bit my main arguement was how it was "extreme and crippling".

More I don't believe I have seen a single case, before Filli Vanilli hat is, of Fluttershy having a fear or nerviousness of singing in front of ponies.

That is my criticism.

I've never cared too much about the continuity errors (except the Maud Pie one). However, I hated that scene where Flutterguy sang in front of everypony.
