Strangely it would seem Mythos had a look of disappointment on his face, as if he had honestly expected or perhaps more hoped for there to be greater a challenge and he says in a tone of soft scorn, "So that is it, you give up yet again say they we have no powers within our own mind and in our dreams? Ha!"

With such he would say more to his companions then to Femi, "We are the masters of our own mind, limited only by our imagination and will. Our dreams are for us to shape however we choose. This is her mistake thinking that he would not lose while attacking os from within, and yet she has been overcome. Here in our minds we are as powerful as we wish... and to prove it."

 

With such the stallion would clear his mind of all distractions, focusing his intent into a single thought... that of defeating the one that had invated his mind and telling her to leave. With such a ball of purple energy of an almost flaming quality appeared in his hoof before Mythos then aimed it at the mare's face and has it shoot towards her. With his other hoof he would focus on the idea of her becoming immobile and unable to run, hoping that his theory that since she was in his mind he could have control over her.

Sole groaned and got to his talons "so that's how it's gonna be huh? You pretend to be stone to get me to lower my guard and kill me? Ugh... I KISSED you! Aw man, stone's gonna kick my ass!" He whined in annoyance, before smiling "so I'm only as strong as my mind huh? Well, that sucks... I never was very smart. But that's when magic come in handy!" He said, before throwing a blast of chaos magic at her quickly

Mythos wasn't entirely wrong. It was his dream, but Femi was in control.

 

She raised up one hoof, but felt burdened and slow when doing so. Both Sole's and Mythos' Energy attacks where attracted to her hoof like a magnet. The spiraled into it and collided with each other and exploded directly in front of her face. The explosion didn't have any effect, even the furniture in the house around them broke apart and dispersed like smoke, but quickly reformed.

 

Femi inspected her hoof when she noticed she was being encumbered. Mythos must be able to lucid dream, She thought, His ability to influence this environment will be a problem. I must kill him first.

 

Femi displayed that she was still in power by waving one hoof and sending a psychic wave of energy directly at Mythos. A direct hit would easily cut through his skin and bone.

Sole saw the attack coming and quickly jumped into action by tackling his friend out of the way of the deadly attack. "Be careful, looks she's trying to kill you first!" He warned "but why?" He mumbled, before sighing and throwing several more blasts of magic at her "eat this!" He said

The bolts stopped in their tracks before getting near Femi because they where blocked by a psychic barrier. The invisible force field did not even falter. Either Femi was unbelievably powerful, or Sole had gotten weaker!

The stallion found himself on the receiving end of an attack from the one opposing them but was tackled out of the way so he was not hit, telling Mythos that she had more control then he hoped. Yet he was able to notice that her movements were slow, so perhaps the unicorn's efforts were not in vain, though she had attacked him first so perhaps she realized he actually had some control and considered him the greater threat.

 

It would also seem though that the one with him had not the power to directly attack Femi, yet perhaps not all was lost. Considering he decided to see if he could enhance his abilities. This was a dream, his mind, there was no limits to his imagination, here all he had to do was let go of his mental limiters and tell himself he was not limited. With such he would get back up and relax his mind, telling himself he was nowhere and everywhere.

 

As he did so, he begin to appear in a numerous places in the dreamscape, first four, then seven, then thirteen, and finally up to somewhere around thirty but it was hard to tell as they were all moving around. This being more then he could ever do if he was awake, yet he was not finished, as he tried crowding his thoughts and thinking of countless things and not staying on any one thought. His consideration being perhaps he could overload or at least distract Femi and allow for her to lower her guard to Sole so he could attack her. His many, many versions of himself spoke in a repeating or perhaps echoing fashion saying, "In dreams, we have no limits, our weaknesses can be ignored and what is considered impossible is possible. Release the binds of our imagination and we can go beyond our capabilities."

 

Though he would not admit it there was the question of mental strain, as he was technically active though he was asleep, so while he could perhaps overcome his physical limitations or that by his level of skill, he could still find himself in trouble latter. Honestly he had never tried exerting himself while dreaming or even truly controlling his dreams. For most dreamers they could only be effected by and allow to happen dreams, only a few being weavers of dreams or walkers of dreams.

((Sorry, I've been a bit preoccupied lately...I'll try to post more often.))

(We all have been. I'm trying to post as much as I can, though I'd usually be waiting for @EquestrianScholar right now.)

 

The fireball had the same effect as Sole's previous attacks. She returned to the ground and looked to see what her psychic attacks had done to Mythos' clones.

Mythos' clones each tried their best to dodge the attacks, but it was difficult to evade something they couldn't see. Their numbers decreased from thirty to fifteen as half of them were hit and faded away. Afterward, Femi lowered down to the ground.

 

The fifteen clones that surrounded her rushed in at the same time to prevent her from striking again. She showed remarkable speed in the perusing melee, being able to block and push back multiple attackers, but she still took a few hits, unable to defend from fifteen attacks at once. She tried to determine Mythos' strategy. He's not just going to try and muscle me out. He's too smart for that. Mythos, what are you planning? She noticed that the original Mythos was not attacking her. He was still standing next to Sole watching her. That's it! He's only using the clones because they cost him nothing. He's waiting for me to tire out while he becomes stronger! He must be hoping that I'm too preoccupied to notice.

 

She continued to fight off the clones, countering and pushing them back so that she didn't have to fight them all at the same time. Then, she freed one hoof and used it to make a swinging motion in the air. She did it discretely so that the real Mythos wouldn't see. When she made the hoof motion, it sent another psychic wave at Mythos that couldn't be seen. It struck him in the forehead, directly where she had aimed, and made him fling back and violently slam onto the ground with blood flowing down his head. As he fell, the clones that surrounded her disappeared.

 

She caught her breath back and looked at Mythos' limp body. "You may be intelligent, but you're also predictable," she said. "It's called tact, Mythos. Try using it next time."

 

With Mythos defeated, she could easily defeat Sole and Crimson in this realm. However, before she could do so, she noticed something about Mythos' body. It had disappeared just like the rest of the clones! That wasn't him! She realized too late.

 

The real Mythos immediately jumped up from behind her and struck her in the back of the neck. He had been pretending to be one of the clones that she so readily overlooked.

 

Femi immediately fell down to the ground. Her neck wasn't broken, but she was still in too much pain to risk moving it.

 

"It's not easy to use illusion magic on a psychic, you know," Mythos said. "I had to do all of that just so you would stop paying attention to me. Still can't believe it worked."

 

Femi tried to stand up again, but a sharp pain ran down her neck when she tried to move her hoofs.

"Alright, so now that she's down how do we get out of here. We've still got ass to kick and ponies to save." He said, poking femi "hey, tell us how to get out of here, Or I'll keep poking you!" He demanded

"This isn't a joke, Sole. The hardest part is yet to come," said Mythos. "We're in a psychic sleep. If we stay here for too long, we'll die in the real world. I doubt Femi is going to let us out willingly. One of us has to kill her!"

Sole froze and groaned "aww, are you serious?! What us it with bad guys and trying to get themselves killed? Seriously!" He complained in annoyance, before sighing "well... Are you sure there's no other way? Killing isn't usually my MO, but if it's to save stone... I'll do it if I have to." He said

Mythos stepped back and looked away. "It's the only option. She won't give up, but... I can't be the one to do it."

 

"You're running out of time," Femi added.

Crimson, Mythos, and Sole lost consciousness as soon as she did and they immediately woke up back in the entrance to the mansion. They hadn't moved since they fell asleep and it appeared that almost no time had passed, only a few seconds.

Big Shot watched the three as they stood back up, then glanced around the room. Femi had fallen down from her meditating stance and was now sprawled out on the floor.

 

"What... Just happened?" He asked with a mixture of confusion and fear. "She just dropped dead and the intruders are still coming!"

 

"It appears that Femi's psychic sleep has backfired." Rune said with disinterest.

 

Mason chuckled, "And then there were three."

 

"Why are you so calm!" Big Shot demanded. "Why are all of you so calm!"

Crimson checked to make sure his hat and Helios were O.K, and chuckled as he saw Sole fly off in the direction of some powerful enemies, like an idiot. "You never learn, do you? C'mon Mythos, let's go help him before he ends up getting himself killed..." he said, before following the excited griffin.

As the three wondered through the halls (Using a map of the interior that I forgot to tell you you had), heard a shout from behind them. Two armed guards with pistols stepped out from an intersecting hallway with their weapons trained on the intruders.

 

"Game's over, kids. Drop all your weapons and we will shoot you!" One of them said.

 

(Pay attention to the wording here. )

With his sword hoisted on his back, Snowstorm stepped up to the door. "I've had enough of this. I'll finish them," he said.

 

"Do you honestly think your fate will be any different?" Rune asked with hostility, "Femi, with all of her caution, was not able to face them alone. You and I shall face them together."

"I'm not sharing the glory with you!" Snowstorm replied angrily.

 

"This isn't about you!" Rune grunted as he towered over Snowstorm. "We must protect our employer."

 

Big Shot leaned over to Shale and whispered, "Ready a chopper in case they fail. I'm not taking any chances."

 

"Ever the beacon of integrity, sir," Shale replied sarcastically.

Sole paused and looked at the gaurds with guns with disinterest, scratching his head boredly "really? I wanna find the strong guys, not some annoying small fries with guns." He said, before using his speed to flit behind them and karate chopping one of them on the back of the neck "guns are only a threat if the can hit you." He said jokingly

The first guard shook his head in agreement, too shocked to speak.

He then sheathed his sword and smiled at the others. "We can't have them running off and telling the other guards, can we? Now come on, lets get this over with..." he said, continuing down the hall.

With the guards out cold, the only path left for them to take was to enter the ball room where Snowstorm and Rune waited. The room was full of carefully arranged tables and chairs, as well as several security cameras so that Big Shot could watch whatever went on in there.

"Seems you took care of the guards well enough without me," said the stallion softly as he finally caught up though he seemed tired and a bit slow, the mental excursion carrying over into his wakefulness.

 

He gives a smile, even chuckling, though his face seemed troubled as well. Though he had not spoken such at the time, he did feel guilt for allowing the mare they had just faced be killed. A life for a life, especially when that life was that of a mare, was not a game he liked to play. Yet he was not going to give up either, it was his fault Stardream was in danger and he was going to fix it.

 

Considering the way forward the unicorn says softly, "so anyone have a plan or are you just going to charge in and fight? We need to be more careful as there are still powerful foes in which to face."

Sole shrugged as he heard mythos' question, Which seemed difficult to do while flying. "Yeah, I'm not the best when it comes to plans. But going in there guns blazing sounds about right, I wanna kick their asses and save my wife as soon as possible, not to mention fight the owners of these powerful auras." He said cheerfully
