ErBoi 501 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 Thank you so much for not getting me in any of those pictures. I was sweating like crazy when I was waiting in line for my pass from the walk over as well as the fact that the hallway was boiling. Anyway, yeah, there were definitely a handful of youngsters at BronyCAN last year. I had a toddler and her father play a bit of Mario Party with me in the game room. I'm...really not good around kids though; I just have almost no concept of how to speak to them. It wasn't long before I politely excused myself to go check out panels. But that's just me. If the kid is OK with being around crowds of people older than her/him, you should be fine.
Moonbacon 384 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 well your 7 year old would adore the con well if were to bring any youngsters with me to a con if i even get to go to one well my sister is really shy and probably wont give a shit about the toys and cosplayers and instead just hold on to my leg the entire time as for my brother he might love the toys and maybe the cosplayers as for my cousin. well lets say she got herself in a mall 3 times so in a con filled with pony costplayers and toys i'd just get a nightmare not seperating with her. BUT if i bring all three of time i'd just die

Wingnut 7,005 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 If she generally enjoys very busy environments like major parades and sporting events, she'll like a pony convention too. Yes, most the the attendees are late teens and early 20s. But there will be enough parents with children in her age range that she won't feel out of place. Also, Bronycon specifically asks visitors to keep things G rated. Only a few panels were intended for a mature audience and those were clearly marked in the program and on the boards.
Creamy Arty 6,252 March 5, 2014 Share March 5, 2014 Generally speaking, I suppose a 7 year-old girl is almost as likely to enjoy a convention about My Little Pony as a 25 year-old guy is to enjoy My Little Pony itself. BronyCon is the only brony convention I've attended. While there in 2012 and 2013, I encountered people of all ages, from those who appeared to be around the age of your girl to around 70. Everyone interacted peaceably and had a good time together regardless, and there was plenty to see and do for everyone. There was a voice actor panel in which they took loads of questions from children, and kids love the dealer's room since it's basically a toy store with some other cool stuff they probably wouldn't have thought of. As for your concern about kids hanging all over the cosplayers, all of the cosplayers I've met were very friendly and would love to hug your kid and pose for pictures. Wouldn't worry about that either. But it is rude of a parent to allow their kids to run up to these people and start climbing on them. Kids tend to overreact when elated though. Help her keep her excitement in check and interact with them respectfully as if they were ordinary humans, because they are. The probability of a little girl enjoying herself, if BUCK is anything like my experiences at BronyCon, is good I'd say. Of course, do keep an eye on her and make sure you know where she is and what she's doing; don't let her wander off on her own. Consider also the temperament of this child and her interests. You should know her well enough to figure out if she'd be interested in what the convention has to offer, and should do some research into what's going to happen beforehand. 1 Kyoshi made this ^^ Come join us on Equestria.tv on Fridays at 6 PM Eastern for our weekly movie nights! MLPForums Phanact 1,374 March 5, 2014 Share March 5, 2014 I think it'd be really great for the child to hear some of the panels with the voice actors though so they can appreciate the people that work on the show they love so much I'd say go for it! let's love for me and lets love loud and let's love now cause soon enough we'll die
