Seth was beginning to stir from both the pirates, Bliss, and Volt. His bio-gear had finally removed enough toxins for the wolf to think straight. He opened his eyes to see a cowering Lightning Bliss.

 

With a weak voice, he called out to her. "Blissy...?" He asked, not aware of his surroundings.

Bliss shook as she heard Seth's voice...much as she wanted to go to him to comfort him with the others, she dared not show herself fully...fear was stricken of what were to happen if he found out who they all were...It already too late for Volt.

 

Nah often we get a wolf in our midst, let along wit' robotic limbs. Are ye some sort o' experiment? Or do ye 'ave a name? He pushed Seth's weaken body over to his side to get a better look at his face.

NightStrike squirmed for a few more seconds breathing heavily, before finally coming to his senses. "I thought I was over these things..." He muttered as he looked around to his friends.

 

Blissy didn't seem really hurt. Volt was about in the same situation as he was, and Polaris seemed badly wounded. Seth might have been the worst of all losing his whole bionic leg.

 

Not long after, he heard the pirates coming downstairs. It seemed like all of them where savage brutes. But by the way he spoke the captain might be reasoned with. Or that was what he thought.

As the captain was inspecting the wolf his body, NightStrike coughed softly to draw his attention. He just hoped that his friends wouldn't screw his little act up. He spoke to the captain with a civilized clear spoken voice: "Well Sir Slit, that thing over there is indeed an experiment. The result of combining biological tissue with robotic implants. One of the best works I ever did if I say so myself. And now it seems that you broke it. Do you have any idea how much it was worth?" 

 

He glanced over to Volt: "And this here is my assistant. I can only do so much, and he is the expert on the field of electricity. He helped me make a few alterations to myself too."

 

He continued looking at the rest of the group: "Captain, if I may be so bold, I suggest you to handle these captives with care if you ever want to ransom them. I assure you, they are worth a lot to certain people."

He looked up to the pirate captain with narrowed eyes, before speaking out in a surprisingly calm tone.

 

You want to know who I am? I guess you might already know it, but I'm going to tell anyways since heck, I got nothing better to do at the moment while being chained up to the wall and all.

 

He cleared his throat. I'm Polaris. Since I take you might already know that I come from the same tribe as Kinder over here. Motioned towards the orange earth pony with daggers coming from his eyes at him while returning to favour, before looking back towards the pirate captain again.

 

Anyways, let's just say that we're not exactly hunting brothers, but instead like two warriors with entirely different ideals and morals with a burning vengeance towards each other. He looked back at the wretched torturer standing behind the captain with venomous gaze and back to the captain. I'd really love to know how this sad remnant of my now dead tribe managed avoid being captured by the empire's authorities and loyalist tribes, only to find his way here as one of your crew members on this ship, captain Slit?

The orange stallion didn't bother to answer, instead with eyes full of terror, nodded obidently as the captain got off him.

Now t' business, he turned back to the black unicorn, NightStrike was it? Heh, that's funny, ye be a funny stallion...However I reckon it loots a killer t' know a killer... Don't ye? He suddenly pulled out his sword with his levitation, holding it firmly against Wayzer's throat. Ye see NightStrike... I know yer a hired assassian, a mighty good'un too. Do ye honestly reckon th' Captain o' this ship, wouldna reckon t' research his captives right aft they come aboard? I be a Kirin aft all...more powerful then ye can ever imagine. He suddenly lifted NightStrike by his neck chain as well, right off his hooves while still holding the sword with his levitation, Let's all be professional, 'n nah lie t' th' cap'n... Ok? He dropped him on his romp and shelthed his sword.

If Bliss could turn whiter she would at the sudden realization...the gryphon known as Jewel...was Captain Taylon's daughter...from the gryphon Hub back in the north...The one who...harrassed her and her husband years ago before her father intervened. Oh god...she thought to herself, this is getting worse...

Seth was forced to stare at the captin. At least he seemed occupied with the others ah the wolf regained himself. Letting his system filter out more toxins, he began to remember all that happened, as well as the potential back injury. He the. Noticed he couldn't feel his bio-arm. Looking to it, he saw it was shattered in multiple areas. Anger grew for the captain as he overheard.

 

He looked to the captain, stirring up some. He then began to growle, his red eye buring with hatred. "Honorless pirate welps".

The Captain raised an eyebrow at Volt and smiled, only proving his point on the pegasus' value. Without much words he gestured to Fang, Sab and Billy to bring a tape over. Seems Doctor. Volt be a wee too worked up... This should help ye t' keep yer words t' yourself. Be a good pegasus 'n relax, 'twill make thin's easier on us.

 

Hehe...Fang hissed with delight.

She glared flirtingly at him, you and the other stallions were so cute...particalirly the shape shifter... But that bitch mare got in the way of my fun...Tell me, is your little mare friend with you now?

 

If I may speak Master... Kinder spoke up, I did apprehend the mare, she was a white unicorn I believe, she's hiding behind the others.

Bliss shivered under her cape, prayed. Meanwhile the Captain pulled out some scrolls to look at each of their prisoner's profiles...observing Seth in particular immideatly amongst the important names. He knew almost then that the wolf was Diplomate Seth Eclipse of the Wolven Empire. He grinned down at Seth as he did, feeling a jack pot was already in the works, while taking note of what Kinder said.

 

No, no, she was a white pegasus when I first met her, Jewel spoke up as she put Polaris down. However... I do believe my father mentioned something about her having a coronation at in a few months afterwards before I left the Hub...

 

This peeked the Captain's interest instantly, Then this mare heartie o' yers be an Alicorn? A Princess? He looked at Polaris firmly then darted his attention to the shaking bundle underneath the cape. Hmm...Signaling the others to keep their weapons out, he took a step over Seth to get closer to the pony hidden under the cape. What be her name again Jewel?

I remember you too, Jewel. It truly is a small world like the captain said, since how come you just happened to appear aboard this very ship with my savage tribal mate at the same time. He glanced from both Jewel to Kinder. Does your father know that you have joined the pirates? What crossed your mind to start living off the side of the law as a criminal? Ha my father? He was a peasent! She snarled at Polaris, flinging her tail on his face, he could never truely satisfy myself or my mother with riches and money... Sure my mother put up with his pathetic honor and heroic efforts to protect our people. But I was tired of living off scwandering allowances. Always having to look my 'best' for the sake of my father's name as Captain of the guards!

 

She spat in front of him then turned away to sit down in front of him. So I hatched a little plan...

 

Oooh hehe here it comes! Billy bahed out in excitment.

 

Shut it you three head dog, she squawked at him then continued. So I ran away from the Hub one night while he was out on patrols...Planned on flying to Canterlot to make it big in the city, I could party there all I want and could easily land a rich unicorn to satisfy my cravings for rich and fame... But sadly I got caught in a storm while flying over this very sea...And I was rescued by Captain Slit.

 

He gave me more riches then any pathetic unicorn could ever dream of!

 

He saved us all from similar stories! Fang smiled brightly. And with that we owe our lives to Captain Slit, Sab added in growling happily.

 

Indeed, Captain Slit spoke as he levitated all the others away from the cowering mare, 'N assumin' I don't scuttle ye if ye be worthless t' me... Ye will oe me too. He touched the mare's back hidden under the cape and grinned proudly...he loved it when his prey coward.

 

Bliss held her breath and curled up tighter in a ball, her chain rattling against the floor.

 

Come out me wee poppet... Captain Slit always treats his mares wit' beauty 'n grace. He felt her shivers increase in rapidness, encouraging him to press on her back firmly. When a few moments passed, he grinned, knowing exactly how to get her to cooperate. Mighty well then, give me Doctor. Volt, I 'ave grown tired o' his mouth, where's me cutlass I be goin' t' gut 'im right here! AHHH!

 

 

She burst out of her cape and hood, wings and horn sprawled out fearing Volt's body was split open. NO VOLT NO!!! She whinnied out...only to realize the Captain was standing in front of her, Volt was clearly away from him still tied up and unharmed... Oh Celestia...no...

 

He eyed the familiar young, tiny white alicorn admiringly, then bowed to her hummbly, then took her hoof against her will. Princess Lightnin' Bliss... 'tis a pleasure t' 'ave ye on me vessel. :comeatus:

NightStrike cursed internally. Not only because of Bliss just being recognized as a princess, but also because he saw a particular look in Volt his eyes. And he knew that look really well, it was the look of the other Volt. The darker one....

 

"But... he actually might be useful. We could use somewhat more... confusion at our side." This was NightStirkes type of playing. He knew exactly what game to play, and as long as he didn't do anything to get the captain mad, this could really work out.

Just as he was getting more aquianted with his largest bounty...he turned sensing the magical alarms of Volt's chains behind him. He frowned at the blue pegasus, frustrating.

 

Ah Captain? Jewel stepped back, feeling slightly nervous.

 

Fool, Kinder snorted and raised his hoof, shall I knock him out Master?

 

No need... He then proceeded to unhook bliss's chain from the pole, it still being locked around her neck. He held her close against himself and strolled up to the crazed doctor, Now Doctor Volt, yer precious Princess be in me custody...Ye really wants t' risk burnin' everypony on this vessel? Settle down afore ye make a fool o' yourself.

 

Gah...let us go...We've done nothing to you! She wiggled in his arms pleadingly, he had her cuffed up so only her back legs were free, Please!

 

Oh wee poppet...Ye be a Princess...then th' rest must be yer comrades... Do be a dear 'n order them t' stand down... I'd hate fer anypony t' make a mess in front o' ye.

 

She refused to listen to him but rather kicked and squealed, trying to get free of his grasp. If i can just get loose from him...I can run off this ship...I can fly out...I can get help...

 

He snorted realizing he wasn't getting through to her, then noticed Volt's chains were glowing red from heat exposure. He smiled as he levitated his chain up and brought it to Bliss's stomach. Stop now doctor...or do ye wants t' see yer Princess harmed?

 

She eyed the red hot chain, it looked hot enough to burn through the wood let alone her stomach...She began to sweat and stopped struggling...He levitated it closer making her suck it her belly to avoid the burning hot metal.

 

D-don't listen to him Volt! I'll be ok! Suddenly the chain touched her belly for only a second, making her shriek in pain and cry.

Seth was pushed back against the wall of the ship. Looking up at the mess, his anger grew, demanding an action. His growled intensified until he barked out, "no fucking pirates are going to harm my comrades. " he yelled. With all his might, he lept up and tried to land a bite on the captains hind leg.

He looked at the chains around his friends worryingly, as they seemed to have been magically enchanted to nullify all the magic of those who were hooked up with them. However when Volt began to try using his inner lightning powers to free himself, the chains that were connected to everyone began to become heated very fast and could feel his neck starting to burn, which caused him to yell at the blue pegasus to stop what he was doing.

 

STOP IT, VOLT! YOU'RE HARMING US ALL WITH YOUR ELECTRICAL SURGE! WE WILL ALL BURN IF YOU DON'T STOP!

 

The heat was getting more intense as he was forced to began to bite his teeth together as the pain from the searing heat was becoming more unbearable by the second.

Slit dropped the chain from her stomach realizing all his prisoners were getting burned by the pegasus' foolish rebellion. ENOUGH! He dropped Bliss on the ground and focused his horn intently. It glowed a light sky blue and filled the entire room in a spell like mist...only the mist seemed to be effecting the prisoners and not himself or his crew. One by one Volt, NightStrike, Seth and Wayzer fell into a deep sleep...after several seconds of his magic focus.

 

Ah...he sighed heavily as he recooperated himself and straighten his large black hat. Thar now... that should keep them settled long enough fer ye t' seperate thar chains 'n galleon them in different parts o' th' brig. Get to'et Kinder...

 

Yes Master, Kinder obeyed and began seperating the group into their own cages but still keeping the chained collars around their necks.

 

What about me Captain? Shall I...start making ransome notes? Jewel asked eagerly.

 

Thar's no rush, he grinned to her then proceeded to pick up Lightning Bliss, who had been also knocked out by the spell, We should get t' know our new shipmates better. Don't ye reckon? He asked Jewel without looking at her, he was too preoccupied with stroking the prized alicorn's slummbering face.

 

Ah...of course Captain...she sulked a bit, realizing he was more focused on the new female of the ship. A twinge of jealousy sparked in her eye.

 

Billy, Fang, Sab, he ordered the Chimera, get started on yer chores. Jewel head t' th' tied yacht 'n see wha' else be on board th' vessel. I 'ave a wee date wit' our Princess here...At that he carried the unconcious white pony out of the brig and head to his personal courtiers, leaving the rest of his crew to fend to his orders.

 

HIssss...likes the alicorn doesn't he? Fang asked Sab and Billy. Obviously, Sab replied, she's the Princess of Peace...the word of her ascention spreaded even where I lived...Her exotic beauty is beyond compare-

 

WHAM!!!

 

OUCH! HEY! Bawwed Billy at Jewel, what was that for? I didn't say anything!

 

Shut up and get to work... she snarled huffing at the Chimera as she fluttered out of the brig, heading for the yacht. Stupid alicorn...that white mare is always screwing up my plans...

As he woke up NightStrike quickly realized that he was moved to a different part of the ship. Judging by his surroundings there was no way to communicate with his friends at all. The whole situation was actually quite bad for him. Volt could get a decent ransom from Cloudsdale which isn't exactly a poor state. Bliss and Seth would fetch a hefty fee from their respective kingdoms too.

 

He and Polly however where in a different situation. They didn't have anybody who wanted to pay for them. Which could potentially be dangerous for them, as they didn't have any worth they could be harmed at will.

 

"Well seems like an excellent opportunity to... showcase my abilities then" With those thoughts he silently began working on his chains using a chip of wood he carved out with his horn, because of the metal rod in it it was somewhat sturdier that other horns so even though unicorn horns are usually really sensitive the pain that caused wasn't intolerable.

 

As an assassin, he was trained to be able to deal with not having any magic too so it shouldn't be too hard. Or that was what he thought.

 

It took him ages to get out of his chains, or that's what it seemed to him as he didn't have any sense of time at all in the dark room. But in the end he managed to get free. He sat in a corner and awaited one of the pirates to come. It was of no use trying to escape his cell because he was on a ship anyway. Unlike a pegasus, he couldn't fly, it would only anger the captain.

Seth woke again, wondering where he was this time around. As he slowly came to his seances, he realized that he had been knocked out way more times than an average being. Remembering he was still captured, he woke up completely. This time around, he found that he was bound rather heavenly to the wall; his damaged implant had been chopped off half way and had been hastily welded to the chains. He felt dizzy for a few seconds, only wondering what it would have felt like to see his arm get cut off.

Looking to the door to his cell, he could hear a faint grinding sound of... something. It almost sounded like someone was using dental floss to crack a vault. As the wolf began to scan the immediate area for a way of escape or freedom, he couldn't help but listen to it work. It wasn't natural, but it was oscillating. Seeing how his bindings were making it impossible for himself to move once so ever, he decided to think of the situation.

 

'Well... Bliss was a princess, so she would be safe as long as equestria was willing to talk to pirates. Volt was a worker for the weather company, so there was his ransom. Also, he had information on  what the CWC had done which would bring in the bits if he talked. Polaris... was on the low end of the bargain here. Wayzer could probably get bought out by a terrorist group that would want his traits. Himself on the other hand... had two ways of going. 1: They try to get the wolven empire to buy me back. The wolven empire had exiled him for hunting down and killing the terrorists that nearly killed him. To them, it was a rampage of insanity. However, they might send a black ops team in if they heard of the other captives. There was another option. They might find a pony revolutionist group that has a bounty on his furry hide. Either way, he might be in for rough waters.'

Volt woke up in an dark and empty part of the ship, chained like a salami to a wodden wall, the room filled with water on the ground and humidity in the air

 

"nghh... buck that.... this is probably the stern of the ship"

 

he thought looking around

 

"uhm ok.. humidity.. not good.. by now i would have probabily lost of my charge, yeah.. indeed... uhm magic chain lock eh? not good, too much time to lock pick, brute  force is neither an alternative, if i remove this things from the wall i would probably flood it.. uhm... "

 

he noticed a torch lamp turned on near him

 

"maybe.. maybe that could work.. this is iron.. yah magical but still iron.. fusion point.. 1450°-1530C° no way i can do it with that lamp.. but the thermal expansion coefficient is 1,2 x 10-5 lambda... that means that if i heat up this thing, they way they chained me.. i could be able to make my hoof slip trough it.. uhm gonna born myself.. but worth a try.... so... how do i get near the  torch?..."

 

"EHI!! IS ANYONE THERE?! NOT THAT I CARE BUT I AM GETTING SOAKED HERE! IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR NICE LIL' BOAT TO SINK YOU BETTER COME IN!"

He remained as the only one of the group that wasn't separated from the group and moved to the different parts of the ship, since due to his innate resistance to magical forces, the pirate captain was unable to knock the lights off from him with his sleep spell. However he was still chained firmly against the back wall with the magic nullifying iron collar to prevent him from using his levitation spell, while found himself face to face with his nemesis Kinder, who was left alone with him in the same space as the others had returned back upstairs to do Celestia knows what. The sadistic earth pony walked about from the other side of the ship to another, probably doing his routine check of all their hostages, while returning back to his workplace near his cell to work with some unidentified potions and sharpening his gruesome torture devices he hanged above the table along with his ceremonial dagger of shadows.

 

He looked around the brig in silence as he sat on his rump against the creaking wooden floor, before trying to pull one of his front hooves that were recently chained up as an extra precausion due to his aggressiveness against his jailors. The torturer heard his attempts and turned his head looking towards him with a sadistic grin on his face. Trying your luck, Polaris? Try all you want. Those chains are made of reinforced steel that are able to hold down a giant bear with ease. The only way out for you out of this would obviously be when we will march you to the plank and feed to the sharks, or if by some miracle some pitiful creature out there would want to pay for your safe return, which I highly doubt...

 

Kinder shook his head and turned to face his working table again and began running his eyes all over it, before a slight evil smile creeped up to his nearly emotionless face and pulled out a bizarre looking metallic prod with a rubbery grip on it, which had a strange hexagonal container on atop of it that housed a small white blue crystal that was sparking lightning around it, while held suspended in mid-air inside the container. On the very top of the device had two sharp pointy spikes that began to arc lightning against each other when Kinder picked up the device from the table and held it with his other hoof, as he began to walk slowly towards the captured unicorn with a fire burning in his eyes, while smiling devilishly.

 

...but I was given the pleasure by the captain himself to spend some quality time with you, 'tribe brother' the way I see most pleasing. Starting by demonstarting this newly developed electric prod used by the law enforcement officers in the empire to stun criminals, plundered from one of the hapless officers that tried to force his way inside of our ship when we were having a shore leave few days back. He was caught up, tied and sold to the slavers of the blackhoof plateu to the east of the empire for a hefty 450 gold bits. He stopped in front of the brown unicorn, turned his attention towards the prod and with his mouth, he turned the dial in the weapon from low wat to the highest of electric output and began chuckling darkly at the now helpless unicorn. I'm quite eager to test this weapon's effectiveness in person. Starting with you, Polaris...

The captain studied his news articles, magizines and notices, all relating to information and fame of the newly aquired Princess and Diplomat that he now had in possession. With the Princess being the most valued, he dare not risk chaining her up down with the others, especially knowing Kinder's sadistic personality. He smirked knowing he was probably having some fun with the brown unicorn Polaris.

 

Knowing that Kinder was going to torture him lead him to believe it would be beneficial. Sadly he could not find anything worth while about the brown unicorn, other then that he too was a formal tribe member that Kinder orginated from. A Tribe that studied in Necromancy....The small strand of luck that he found Kinder and was able to use his...peculiar...talents for his own pirate uses, made him think that having another stallion with those talents might be even more useful. He grinned cheekily as he levitated his wardrob mirror close to his face to stare at his complextion.

 

Another necromancy stallion as a shipmate, he'd be far better use on this ship then t' sell 'im as cheap slave labor. Prehaps if he survives Kinder's hospitality, I can offer 'im a galleon by me side. His ears perked up at the faint sound of the white mare whimpering, still innocently and helplessly sleeping from his spell and chained to his bed frame. Unlike ye me wee lass, ye be far worth th' price fer yer Equestria's safe return...I look fore t' ye wakin' up, so that we may get t' know each other better. As fer th' diplomate...prehaps he would be willin' t' dine wit' us once ye both recover.

Sab and his brothers had long since finished the chores and were playing with a barrel on the deck when they heard a clamor coming from the black unicorn's room they stashed him in.

 

HISSSSSSSSS, that unicorn out and about? Fang snarled with his tongue.

 

Let's check brothers... Billy bawed as Fang pulled his head forward and pushed the door open. *Snarls* WHERE IS HE??? Sab hissed as he spotted the empty neck chain.

When NightStrike finally got out of his chains, he gritted his teeth as he accidentally made quite a loud noise.He immediately heard them coming, and he knew he should be taking action.

 

The cell NightStrike was in was actually quite small. And he made perfect use of that. With all his strength he manage to climb upwards bracing himself against two parallel walls. The position he had to move himself in was kinda awkward, but it did the job.

 

Then the 3 headed beast came into the room. "Let's see how this fight goes when I have the element of surprise."  NightStrike thought as he looked down.

 

"That my friend, would be here" NightStrike whispered softly right before he dropped himself on top of the chimera, hitting the heads in as many weak spots as he could, especially the eyes and the temples making some kind of growling noise

After some time, more of the grinding sound, and what sounded like a pony going at a piece of steak, Seth finally gave up at trying to think of a rescue or and means of anything. For once in his life, he was at peace with just staying where he was. For once he was happy being locked in the cell.

 

"Wait... no i'm not!" He contradicted himself. "I wanna be be home, or at lease rescue my friends." He banged on the chains, no possible escape in sight. He had tried to use his claws to cut through the metal, but the density was to high. Out of desperation for anything to do, he began lightly banging the wall of his cell with his head. When constrained, this was the best one could do to keep sane.

 

"For the love of all things evil!" The griffon yelled, standing outside his cell. "Stop with the banging! It's driving my nuts. It doesn't help that the pegasus is yelling like a madpony." She then unlocked the door to the cell, walking in. Taking a set of keys, she walked to where the chains met the wall and unlocked the contained pony. 

 

"So why are you here?" Seth asked, looking to the feathered being. She was obviously stressed and miserable. Seth could tell it wasn't about him, but of something else.

 

"Captain wanted me to get you up to his quarters for a private dining with him." She muttered, dragging the wolf out of the cell by the chains. "Apparently, you and the Blissy twerp are now VIPs of the boat. I knew it was too good to have her on board. Now the captain his hitting on her!" She scoffed, yanking on the chains hard. This caused Seth to choke for a second. It was obvious to Seth that there was an emotional insecurity in the griffon. One Seth could easily exploit if necessary. 

 

"If I may ask, why are we having the dinner?" The wolf asked.

 

"Because you and the all mighty princess are the two paying hostages. I can see you as you are a diplomat, but frankly... I might just pay the captain my wages for her!" She growled, slowing up slightly. 

 

"I'll take that as a compliment." Seth said, a bit of kindness in his voice. The conversation died there as they made their way to the captains quarters. During the trip, Seth had noticed how the expression on Jewel's face had turned from one of anger to one of slight sadness. When the griffon noticed Seth's observance, she immediately returned to her cold hard face.

"oh the little smart stallion noticed that? i am surprised!"

"shut up.. what for your brilliant plan now?"

"easy, they clearly don't care of ME and they don't know what i can do if i am set free around here... i may be not sneaky as your black unicorn snake"

"whatever... but I may try to weak the structure of the ship"

"what about just freeying our friends?"

"YOUR friends, not mine, i don't care about them and i don't know their position, they can die with the pirates"

Volt closed his eyes, after a while he reopened them, a smirk in his face, as he did, he flexed his rear legs toward the ceiling, kicking the torch which was sent into the air, rabbing it with his hooves, he brought it closer

 

"ta da!... happy?"

 

as he spoke Volt broughtthe torch closer, just under the lock on his right hoof, and he waited

 

"that.... burns....it is too hot.."

"be quite little mare, you had your occasion, now let me my space of mind!"

 

after a while, grinding his theeth in pain, Volt started to pull his hoof from the lock, more and more, skortching all of it, but finally it was set free, at the price of blood and a ring shaped burn around it

 

"perfect, now the other"

 

he procedded with the same operation to the other hoof and the chains on his legs

 

"good, those idiots doesn't know anything"

"my wings are still chained... "

"i can't remove those, or do you prefer to lose them? at least we are free, let's bring some chaos"

 

Volt approached the small wood door, looking for any possible enemy in sight

 

"step one: get the bag back, step two..."
