"That's cool. Do you have your weapons here? If you do, go get them and then show me what you've got over at the training dummies." Jason said as he sat down. He needed a break anyway. He packed up his bow and arrows and crossbow.

 

(Oh. okay, so the Slaven is like the Slitheen?)

"No we don't have our weapons on us. But we will get them and we will train with you one day" Jake said.

Amy finally let her dad in her room and she sat in the corner still curled in a ball.

Jack walked in and sat on her bed. "Amy its going to be Ok. Things happen . We will get through this" he told her.

Jason tapped his chin in thought. "Then what can we do together? Uum Jake. You said you like guns. A bow and arrow are the same thing except it's more medieval. You sure you don't want to give it a try?" Jason asked. One last time. If Jake said no, the he didn't know what to do.

"No but I think pretty soon we have a job to do" Jake said.

 

Amy opened up to her father about everything how she was molested, and kicked out on the streets, and how her mother treated her after she married the guy who molested her and how she was beaten by him also.

Piper had entered the training arena, her muscles tense. She streatched out, then whent into the gun range.

 

Mutated alien forms began to pop up.

 

Cardboard, of course.

 

She shot them all in there prospective organs, perfect shots. She had studied alien anatomy well.

Amy walked out of her room with her father and they went to the training area, and they walked to the gun rage. Her father was teaching her how to use the different guns they have. He also was teaching her how to use the different divices.

After her first few guns she saw Piper and she waved at her.

Piper waved back with a smile.

 

"Hey!" She shouted to the two of them "just preparing for our next battle!"

 

She took off her headphones and walked over.

 

"Learning the ropes, huh amy?" She smiled at her "nothin feels better good ol hunk of metal in your hands." She hefted the gun. "This is more then a weapon. Its a peice of art."

"Yeah it is. I have always fought by hand though. And I probably should go see Rosa by. " Amy said. She walked to Rosa's lab and saw the baby. She picked her up and started to rock her.

"Rosa you here?" she asked. She kept on rocking the baby and cuing to her. 'She is so adorable' she thought.

Rosa continued her work in silence as she ran tests and scans  Machines whirring and buzzing filled the cavities of her ears, flooding them with a familiar comforting hum. Rosa loved work, she loved her work. It allowed her to escape her thoughts and merge with a different reality. The only thought she couldn't displace was the thought of the poor child and what she endured, "I hope I can give you at leasst some good news honey." She said allowed to no one in particular.

 

A tiny voice couaght her off guard, she didn't realize Amy had went off to find her. Looking up from her lab she welcomed the young lady in. "Yeah I am in here, come in if you want."

"Thanks" Amy walked in with the baby in her arms and still rocking and cuing at her. 'She needs a name' she thought. "What should we name her?" Amy asked Rosa. She liked her and didn't even get to hold her except once. "And who is going to take her?" Amy asked Rosa. She couldn't believe that she delivered this little girl all by herself.

Rosa looked at Amy holding the baby. "I can take her, that is if no one else wants to. I just don't know if raising a child while in this field of work would be a good idea or not."

She smiled, "You know I always wanted to be a mom, but since you delivered it you should help. I like Esperenca. It means hope. What do you like?"

 

Now that she wasn't embeded in her work Rosa realized how cold her legs had gotten. 'At least my lab coat covers most of me.' She chuckled silently at her thoughts.

"How about Esperenca Isabella than what ever last name. I like it" she said. She looked down at the baby in her arms. She was adorable. So adorable. She looked up at Rosa and said " Yeah you can take her. And what size are you. Pants?" she asked. She kept rocking the baby.

"Esperenca Isabella Draht, I like it." Rosa declaired, "Although it is a mouthful. It's uniqe and pretty. Just like she will be." She added.

 

The humming of one of the machines stopped and proceeded to beep loudly. "I am a size four." Rosa smiled as she walked over and turned the blood pippet off.

"I have some jeans that I kept over the years and they are a size four if your interested" Amy said than she looked up at Rosa and said "Do you have the results?" she kept rocking the baby and cuing to her. She walked in where she got the baby and set her down, than went back in with Rosa

Rosa's smile fadded almost immediatly. It's almost done, but I need one more thing from you." She said as she reached into a drawer and pulled out a cup.

"A urine sample will tell me if your pregnant."  She explained as she handed Amy the cup.

Walking back to the pippet Rosa removed a couple small vials, "This will tell me if you have gotten any STI's." Rosa knew what she was telling her couldn't be comforting but she had a right to know what was happening.

 

Twisting open the vial rosa carefully placed a small amount of Amy's blood on a slide. Carefully she placed it under the microscope. Glancing back up at Amy she smiled, "I should have these results when you get back ok? The next ones will be shortly after ok? I really appreciate the offer, but it's alright, I am fine." She lied, she didn't want to have to trouble her.

 

Getting back to her work Rosa twisted open a new vial and took a measure white powder and dumped a small amount in . Carefully twisting the cap on she waked over to the pippet and placed the vial back in. The room was humming once more.

Amy got the sample and took it back to her. "Here you go" she said holding it out to her.

 

Jack walked into the lab where Rosa and Amy was. "Hey girls. Do you two know want your going to do with the baby?" he asked.

"Yes dad. Rosa is taking her. So what am I going to do with school?"

"You will still go tomorrow. Rose told me you wanted to go to a magnet school. I called and found one that will take you"

"Hey you two. I'm going to get something from the store." Jason told the girls. He left them to their experiments and walked out the door of Torchwood. He went over to his motorbike and drove off. While driving, he hit a protruding rock that he didn't see. The rock made his bike spin rapidly out of control and crash into a store's window. While a couple of people came to check if he was alright, he drew a last breath and laid still.

"Thanks dad." she said hugging him. She pulled back and smiled at him. "Hey Rosa,are the tests done yet?" she asked sitting down.

Jake and josh walked into the lab and saw the baby. "Where did the baby come from?" he asked. Than Jake said "We checked out what Jennifer said and the Slavins are deffenetly back"

It had been a while, a little longer than she had anticipated but she finially had all the results. A heavy feeling came to her as she set off to find Amy and speak with her. Good news and bad news. The options filled her head. None pleasent all perfectly fine. Now all she needed to know was how to proceed. What particular course of action would be necessary.

Amy was in her fathers office learning the basics of what she had to do in Torchwood. She couldn't wait until she got the results. 'What am I going to do if I am pregnant. What am I to do? I am going to raise it so anything else is not optional. I will have work to do so I will have money and I will have help' she thought

Rosa aproached Jack's office "If she was not in her room she had to be here" She thought to herself as she aproached the door Clipboard in hand.

 

Taking a deep breath in Rosa knocked on the door, "Hello, is anyone in here?" She called out timmidly

Amy walked to the door and saw Rosa. She let her in and sat back down next to her father. "What are the results?" she asked Rosa. All kind of thoughts ran through her head. 'What If I'm pregnant? What if I have a disease? Or what if I have both?' she thought to herself.

Rosa looked back and forth beetween the girl and her father, "I have to ask you this first Amy, would you prefer to get the results alone? Jack doesn't have to be the first to know and whatever decisions you need to make you can make those on your own." Rosa wasn't trying to be rude, simply respect a Doctor patient code

"No it's ok. He is going to find out any ways better do it when we have time. " she said. 'Do I want a baby? Am I ready to be a mom? Am I ready to settle down? Will guys still like me? What about girls? What will the other kids say? Will I be the only pregnant girl there?' she asked herself while waiting for the results
