A group of teenagers entered a dark grey room. There was a man sitting behind a fortune teller's table and a woman sitting next to him on the wraparound couch in the booth. The man had a long, crooked nose and an extremely creepy look on his face. The woman wore a blue suit and had blonde hair and red lipstick.

 

“Welcome. To the Velvet Room.” The old man said. He beckoned the group forward. “My name is Igor.” He said.

 

“My name is Margaret. Tell me something. Have you ever heard of the Midnight Channel?” Margaret asked curiously. “If you have then beware because the Channel is back. The TV World and the human world are starting to converge once again and this time, I don't think you can stand a chance. If not, then the Midnight Channel is a channel that comes on at midnight, but only during a storm and if it is raining.” Margaret explained what the Midnight Channel was.

 

“Do you have any questions?” Igor asked the group.

 

(OOC: Okay, the group of teenagers are your OCs. This will take place a few years after the original events and Yu Narukami has decided to move back permanently to Inaba.)

"I have one" A boy said. "How come the Midnight Channel is back" He asked. "I thought it finally stopped...does this mean people could die again...and if so I want to help stop the channel so no one innocent will get hurt again" he said. The boy that was speaking was Malik Dean though he wants to go but Mariiku

In the meanwhile

"What do you mean the Midnight Channel is back" Someone spoke. "That's what I heard in fact my friend told me that she saw a girl from high school one time" A student said. 

"The midnight Channel is back...I have to tell the others" A female said before heading to Junes

Margaret answered for Igor. "That's a valid question. The Midnight Channel is back because has upset the balance yet again. We don't know who it is and we don't why but someone has to do something about it. The group of students that are with you now seem to have a lot of potential." Margaret told the group. "Are there any other questions?" She asked.

Yosuke Hanamura ran through the Junes center to the table that he usually sat at with his friends. "Guys, have you heard? The Midnight Channel is back!" He shouted at them.

"Thank you for answering" Mariku said as he looked around the room. "Another Question, how are we here exactly" He asked

 

Flashback

 

"Hey I'm back from kendo practice" Mariku said as he ooked around his house. "Forgot, they left me the house for the year..." He said as he laid on his bed and fell asleep"

 

 

Flashback End

 

 

 

"Yes I heard, though you don't think that it is back right, it could just be a rumor" Naoto arrived and looked at Naoto. "It wouldn't hurt to look though" She said

"Yes. I would like to know that too." A boy spoke up from the group. He had a black and yellow scarf, red jeans, black jacket and a white shirt underneath the jacket. Hos name was Sekel Fortif.

 

"A couple of curious boys I see. For now, this is all a dream. Take this," Igor held out a bundle of keys that glowed blue. "If you take one of these keys, then you can enter here of your own free will." Igor said. Sekel stepped up and took a key, As soon as he touched it, the blue glow faded, leaving a shining bass key in this place.

 

"What is this key?" Sekel asked curiously.

 

"The key is a key to this place. The Velvet Room exists between the TV World and the Human World." Margaret said. She asnwered the unspoken question of where the room exactly was.

 

"Now you may leave. May we meet again soon." Igor said.

Yosuke put his hands on his hips and sighed. "Yeah, I suppose it is only a rumor. But how cool would it be if it wasn't!? Yosuke said in delight.

Yukiko Amagi nods, "Yes, I heard, but isn't that just a myth? Anyway, would it really be that great if it was real? I mean, what's the chance that you'll really meet your soulmate from watching a TV? It just seems a bit far-fetched."

Mariku took one of the keys and smiled. "Well....guess I'll make sure to come back if I got any other questions....how do I leave exactly" He asked

 

 

 

 

"Just remember what happened the last time the Midnight Channel was on...at least we know what to do if anyone appears on the screen" Naoto said

"Just walk right back through the door and you'll wake up as you pass the doorway." Margaret instructed. "Good luck." She added as an afterthought. Sekel nodded and walked through the door. Once he passed it, he woke back up in his bed. "What the hell did I just dream? Or ..." Sekel looked at his hand and clutched in it was a brass key.

"I know what we do! Go straight into the TV from the electronics department and bring them back." Yosuke said. He was very excited at the rumour of the Midnight Channel being back.

 

(The murder will happen the next in-RP day.)

Mariku did so and woke up. "I need to head to Junes and buy some food" He said as he noticed the brass key. He smirked and put the key in his pocket and headed to Junes.

 

 

"It would help but doesn't that only work during certain days only" She asked Youske. "I thought it only worked during rainy days" She said

Sekel fell on to his back in surprise. "Yup. That really did happen. Mum! I'm going over to Junes!" Sekel yelled over his shoulder as he raced out the door. He placed the key in his pocket and hurried to get something to eat.

"You really know how to dull the mood. Don't you Naoto?" Yosuke asked as he slumped his shoulders. He sat down on the bench and cupped his face in his hands. "Yeah, I know that we can only watch it on rainy nights, and even then it has to be stormy. Bummer."

After arriving at Junes Mariku saw three people there sitting at the table. One looked like he would be Captain Ressentiment, one would seem like The Unconquerable Snow Black, and the other one would be The 2000 IQ Detective. "I wonder why they are there" He asked himself as he passed the three and heard them talk about the Midnight Channel. "Apparetly the Midnight Channel is popular...but it only is on during stormy weather...I need to check this out" He said to himself

It all seemed... surreal. Like he was stepping back to years ago... riding what could have easily passed to be the same train... hearing the same voice on the intercom... heck, he could even lie to himself and pretend he was standing the same spot. Yu Narukami... was returning to Inaba. He'd headed back to his home in the city, living with his parents, a few years back... but it no longer felt like a true home. He'd been such big, inseparable bonds with people in the little town, and leaving it felt like leaving part of himself behind. He'd stayed in contact with everyone, of course. He wouldn't have it any other way. But it simply wasn't how it was suppose to be.

 

He smiled lightly to himself... he hadn't visited in a long time... but this wasn't a visit. He was moving there... for awhile, he'd live with his Uncle again, but he'd find his own place soon enough. It was a surprise though. No one knew he was even coming back yet, let alone he was moving back. He'd decided it would be a double surprise: he'd find them all, have them all think he was visiting... once they were all together though, he'd announced he was moving. No one knew, except for Dojima, the truth. He couldn't wait to see the looks on their face. The train arrived at the station, and he stepped out. He'd managed to send his stuff to Dojima before, she he lacked any real luggage... he hadn't wanted to wait any longer than he had too.

 

He walked as quickly as he could to the Junes super market... he was going to go check out the old 'secret headquarters'... something told him he'd find the others there. He arrived, looking over and smirked, seeing three familar faced sitting together at the outside dining area. He smiled slightly, walking over to the table and giving let out a simple greeting. "Hey guys. Been awhile." still giving that small, cool smile, although his excitement was obvious at seeing his friends again.

Yosuke's head hit the table when he heard Yu speak. "Yu! Buddy! Hahaha you're back!" Yosuke said as he leapt up and hugged him. Yosuke then sat back down. "What brings you back here bro?" Yosuke asked him.

 

Sekel had gotten something to eat and sat down at a vacant table when he saw the scene unfold.

Yu wasn't susprised at all by the hug. Heck, he would've been more surprised if Yosuke hadn't done so. He smirked, hugging his idiot of  best friend tight, before breaking it and sitting down at one of the vacant seats. He was happy already to be back, but seeing his friends again certaintly solidified it. The three of them all had slight changes to thier appearance that was immediatly obvious, but they were clearly the same people he'd left before... it caused him to realize his own changes in appearance. He'd gotten abit taller, of course, but his silvery hair had grown out abit as well. At the question, he just smiled. They weren't all together yet. Wasn't time for the big news until then. "Well, I figured i`d come visit.  It'd been awhile, after all... and I like to come back occasionally to make sure you havn't burned down Inaba." He said, giving another smirk to his friend.

Yosuke sighed and crossed his arms. "Oh come on! That was just the one time! I never did that again." Yosuke complained. The last time he burnt something down didn't go as planned. He was tryinf to cook something in the cafeteria and the whole place just burnt down. It wasn't his fault the gas kept leaking out!

"It's nice to see you again Narukami" Naoto said as she walked up to her friend. "What brings you back here to Inaba" Naoto asked.

 

 

Meanwhile Mariku came out of Junes and pulled out the brass key from before. What he didn't know was that one of the kids at the table ,Yu Narukami, also knows of the Velvet Room and the brass key. "So strange that I was summoned to the Velvet room with other people....even stranger is the key" He said as he held up the key

"Yeah, and you're lucky I was there to take some of the blame, or i`m preety sure Kashiwagi would've had your head on a pike." He said, still smiling at that memory of thier second year. As it stood, Kashiwagi had just made them share in a rather hefty punishment. Even a memory like that was a good one... no one got hurt, after all.Well, okay, Yosuke still got in trouble, but besides that. He leaned back slightly in the chair, looking around. The food court barely looked different, and he felt memories of thier past there flooding back... all those meetings, the time Yosuke got him to set up Halloween decorations, just to have to take them down, thier concert... he looked back at them all. "So, Yosuke, still working here, huh?" He said, remembering earlier conversations after graduating. He hadn't asked much about Yosuke's plans after graduation... he never was one to think that far ahead.He glanced at Naoto, smiling abit as she was as formal as ever. "Like I said just visiting..." he paused, seeing a student he hadn't recognized suddenly come and sit down. He wasn't surprised his friends had met more people, but this... he glanced at the key, his heart stopping... is was virtually a twin of his own, a key he found could never truly leave his person... another person assigned to a contract with Igor...? "I..." he said, momentarily lost for words... he hadn't even mentioned the Velvet room to his friends before... "Hello. I`m Yu Narukami... and you are...?" he said to the boy with the key.

Sekel held up hisown and saw something glinting at the group's table. "Could that be ...?" Sekel asked himself.

Yosuke laughed at the memory. He could still remember it as if it had happened yesterday, although knowing Yosuke it probably did happen yesterday. "Do I still work here? Of course I do! I still haven't found a different job but at least today is my day off." Yosuke said with a laugh.

"Huh?" He put the key away and looked at the boy . "My name is Malik Dean or Mariku, as my parents want to call me" He said as he stood up. "It's nice to meet you Narukami" Mariku said as he kept his hand in his pocket. "Listen I got to get going home before it gets dark or it rains" he aid

Yu heard the boy, Mariku, speak to him. He was already leaving... Yu had hoped to speak to him before he had a chance to get away, about the key, but chose not to press the issue. He turned instead to Yosuke, smirking at him a little. "Face it, Yosuke. You`re gonna be working at Junes until the day you die." He said with a soft chuckle, messing with his friend. He turned to Naoto, smiling abit. "So, Naoto, how are classes?" He asked curiously. As she was in the year below them, like Kanji, she would be in her final year. It was still wierd to think of this girl, with her formal speaking ways and her fame as a detective, as younger than him, but he'd grown accustomed to it.

Yosuke laid his head against the table. "Yeah, you mqy be right,Yu.' With his head still on the table, he turned it towards Naoto. "How is school going? You haven't talked about it at all in the past week." Yosuke said.

 

Sekel got up from the table. He ran towards Mariku and grabbed his arm. "You're Mariku right? Did yiu have that Velvet Room dream to?" Sekel asked him.

"Classes are going good actually" She said as she watched the boy leave. "That boy is in the same grade as me, his name is Malik Dean but he likes the Japanese version of his name which is Mariku Diin" Naoto explained.

 

 

"I wonder why that guy just talked to me....what was his name again...Yu Narukami was it" He asked himself before hearing Sekel. "Yep that's me...you must be Sekel the one that was also at the velvet room" He said

Yu only smirked,looking at his friend acting all dejected. He wouldn't be terribly surprised if his friend did end up working at Junes... might even reach his father's position one day.He just hoped he wouldn't move away. It'd suck to move back to Inaba and have one of his best friends move off right away after. He looked at Naoto and nodded. "Thats good to hear. I`m guessing you`ll be resumeing detective work once you graduate." He said, looking at his old friend. After a moment, her perked up,smirking. "Oh, hey, I brought you something..." he said, reaching into his bag to pull out what looked to be a manga. "Its about a young detective who gets stuck in a kids body... I mean, i`m sure you`ll figure out the mysteries long before the main character does, but I thought you might like it." He said, with a small smile as he handed the book to his detective friend. He didn't know how she felt about this sort of thing. He knew she liked reading detective books, or at least did at one point, but this wasn't a proper book, and she may have grown out of them. 

 

"Oh, and I didn't forget you,Yosuke..." he said with a smirk, pulling out... a nata. The short little blade was exactly like the one Yosuke had waved around this very table and gotten them temporaily arrested for years back. The blade was fake, just like that one too. "Here.Figured I owed you for it, since Dojima never gave yours back... try not to get us arrested this time, though."

"Thanks Narukami" She said as she took the manga and started to read it.

 

"Listen when it rains I am going to watch the Midnightchannel to see if I can stop what ever is that is going on" he said. "If you want you can come with me also I got weapons in my house for incase we have to fight"

"Haha sweet!" Yosuke said. He grabbed the nata and did a few fake stabs in the air. "This is amazing. Thanks bro. Speaking of Dojima, if you're visiting for a while ae you going to stay there Yu?" Yosuke asked.

"Yeah you had the same dream. If you're going to watch the Midnight Calhannel tonight can I watch it with you? You're th only one that I know of that also has the brass key. Sekel said.
