Midnight flash immediately recognized the unicorn. He knew nopony would think he did it or recognize him, but he covered his head with his white hood just to be safe. He wondered if he had tracked him down, knew his location the entire time but waited for him to come down instead of going to him or if it was just a coincidence, either way he was going to try his hand at revenge sometime after he came to.

After a couple minutes, the unicorn came to his consciousness and stood up.He took the robe off revealing a rather weird cutie mark.A question mark surrounded by 3 eyes watching it. He closed his eyes and used his horn.he moved his head around the tavern and finally stopped at a pony with a white hood.The unicorn opened his eyes and slowly walked over to the pony.

 

"You...I remember you"He said In a dark voice

She eyed the two ponies, appearing to confront each other. A sense of alicorn duty told her to keep an eye on them and make sure they didn't cause a scene, but she didn't want to reveal who she was in a open public area...and she was too sadden to get involved in the first place. She pulled her brown hood further down her face and turned her back against them, continuing to sip her cider and stare at the picture of her pets... Hoping nothing ugly would come of her ignoring the two of them.

The unicorn sat down at the table Midnight was sitting at.He looked at Midnight while revealing his name.

 

"Names Drakk...I think you remember me just as much as I remember you..."

"I can see your a bit nervous, but I'm not here for a fight old friend"

Drakk seemed to use his horn for some reason.He spoke telepathically to the mare sitting at another table.

 

"Don't worry, nothing ugly is going to happen...And I won't reveal who you are..."

 

Drakk stopped using his horn and stared at Midnight waiting for a response.

Midnight smiled and said: "I remember you but not as an old friend". "Most of my friends are trained timber wolves that live on the mountains with me" midnight said. He could tell he recognized the unicorn but it was a bit fuzzy where from, it may have been too much "cider" or maybe the memory was just too far off. He did however remember a small child that bears uncanny resemblance to the unicorn that he took care of for a small time. "You wouldn't happen to have a twin kid brother would you?"

She eyed the odd unicorn who seemed none hesitent to violate the privacy of her mind to let her know there was no trouble... But it made her nervous that he knew what she was...Despite, she wasn't in the mood to make a annoyed eye flicker towards the two, nor give them a twich of her large ears hidding under her hood. She continued to stare at the picture of her pets, sipping her cider, and wait for some recongizable ponies to come and visit if she was lucky.

Drakk looks surprised and looks at Midnight.

Then suddenly Drakk laughs.

 

"Oh that wasn't me! It was my experiment I did when I was 17"

"I thought that i was skilled enough in magic that I could try a clone spell, but when I finished it, nothing happened!I thought the spell failed as I was thoroughly exhausted after trying it.now I at least know it worked, but made the clone younger."

 

Drakk smiles at Midnight and thanks him for taking care of his clone.

But suddenly, Drakk looks troubled.

 

"But now there is a clone of me running around Equestria... I'm in trouble"

Drakk says sadly and nervously.

"Well the timber wolves may have got him" said midnight in an attempt to comfort him, not shure if it would make him flip out further or calm down.

The thought kind of made midnight unsure of how to feel too, he meant it as a joke then began to feel sick as he realized just how true the statement could be. After all he had grown quite attached to the clone while he was taking care of it.

Drakk looks at Midnight, even more troubled.

 

Drakk stays silent, then says:

 

"That would save me from getting banished somewhere...But the thought of..."

 

Drakk goes silent again, Closes his eyes and sheds a tear.Then Drakk says something.

 

"That reminds me of dad...He never came back from the forest...I just hope hes alive"

Drakk suddenly doesnt look sad anymore, and a glim of hope has entered his eyes.

 

"Oh yeah, The scroll!"

 

Drakk says.He stands up from the table and tells Midnight that it was good to see him again.

 

"And you don't need to repay me those 20 bits you borrowed"

 

"Hope to see you again soon"

 

Drakk moves over to the table he had his scroll at, he picks it up and puts it in the saddle bag.He also pick up the robe again and puts it on.

Drakk moves over to the table the mare was at.

 

"I'm sorry for.. Er... Intruding, earlier"

 

Drakk levitates the scroll in front of him while saying.

 

"I need your help"

Midnight is starting to feel really sick thinking of what his "friends" may have done to the poor kid and decides to rent a room and come back the next day. "They were never the most obedient when they were puppys..." He began as he left the tavern. just thinking of all the ways he had seen them attack those tons of baby bunnies that that strange yellow pegasus gave him every two months. The only thing he knew about her was that she had a seemingly infinite amount of baby bunnies and her name kind of sounded like butterfly... He wanted to puke.

She sniffed and darted up looking surprised that the unicorn had come over to her.

 

Who are you? What do you want... why did you... she lowered her voice... get into my head... Look I don't care if you know who I am on the pony level but I don't need unwanted attention... I'm a low ranked alicorn as it is... Who just had a rough day taking her pet to an expert animal care giver (Fluttershy)...and praying she's not on her death bed...

 

She sipped her cider and sighed feeling guilty how she was talking to the noble stallion, I'm sorry, I'm not used to strangers invading my mind let alone coming up to meet me... Just...don't announce who I am please... She sighs and regains her composure. What do you need my assistance for?

Drakk looked a bit nervous as well as sad.

 

"Don't worry, I'm sure your animal will be just fine, I mused went to Fluttershy about a week ago asking her to try and cure my pet dragon, he was all better after a few days, and I'm perfectly sure your pet is gonna be fine"

 

Said Drakk trying to cheer her up.

 

"Anyways, sorry if I'm interrupting , but...as you can see I have a scroll here"

 

Drakk felt really sad, but tried to hide it, but couldn't stop a tear from shedding.He tried to sound normal while talking.

 

"When I was but a colt my mother got really sick, and before she...went away, she wrote this scroll and gave it to me.Its enchanted so nobody can understand what it says, only one species can due to the enchantment on it, and take a wild guess what species."

 

Said Drakk, trying not to cry.

 

"I tried going to Celestia at my time in Canterlot, but they wouldn't let me in.Somepony bought our house and kicked me out.And this scroll is the last thing I have to remember my mother.I searched everywhere for that specific species for one of them to read it, but I found none."

 

Drakk can't hold it back anymore, he starts to shed more tears, slowly.

 

"So please, can you read the scroll so I can know what my mothers last words to me was"

 

Drakk wipes the tears away and slowly places the scroll on the table, but on a empty place so it doesn't cover any of her pictures.

 

"Please, I've searched for 20 years to find one, and now that I finally have, I'm begging you. I'm sorry if I have intruding on your privacy and...er...Mind.But can you please read this scroll"

 

Said Drakk before starting to cry quietly.

She grinned firmly that he mentioned he had a dragon for a pet, when her husband was a dragon himself. But not wanting to get into a headbutt on sentient being morals, and taking more pity into the young stallion's pleas, she looked the scoll over he placed down. First look she couldn't make out what it was just by staring at it...Then she placed her hoof on it to try and get a better view of it from the top, left to right...

 

Suddenly her horn seemed to burst forth magical aura, throwing her hood and cape back, revealing her horn and wings...her eyes seemed to glow in a powerful magical trance... What in the... she became magic struck by the intensity of the scroll's powerful enchanted password...Although she knew she was a rookie in her magical talents, she understood her alicorn powers of unity tend to react on their own, even triggered by other magical objects...this was no different it seemed.

 

After several seconds of rainbow magic surrounding her horn, making her mane blow about her head...it settled and her eyes stopped glowing. She shook her head.. Gah I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me... it's like - she stopped suddenly, seeing now that the words on the scroll were glowing in a rainbow aura that represented her magic's coloring... The magic must have triggered it to translate for me... I can read it! She claimed to the young unicorn.

Drakk became nervous when her wings and horn got visible so he quickly used a spell he had created, which made a invisible force field over the caster and another pony of choice.

 

"Sorry about that, I didn't know that would happen,I could cast a memory spell which removes the last 5 minutes from the memory of nearby ponies, if you wish.And don't worry, that was one of those rarer and special magic surges, I guess you've come by them occasionally, that's what I can tell by your soul anyways"

 

Said Drakk while holding up the force field.

Gah! She realized she had exposed herself but Drakk was quick enough hide her alicorn features with a forcefield. No pony in the tavern seemed to have noticed...

 

Um... Thank you... for that... I wasn't expecting that either. Good thing you know more about magic... Just because I'm an alicorn doesn't mean I know magic off the bat. I was a pegasus before I became an alicorn... Ahem anyways, the scroll says...

Midnight was starting to feel better. He wished that he hadn't wasted 20 bits on a room that he had stayed in for about 8 minuites to get better. "I'll stay here tonight, just to get my money's worth" he said to himself. When he came back he saw his "old friend" and... an ALICORN! He blinked then looked again just to confirm what he saw. It was real alright. As excited as he was, it seemed that they were in the middle of something and decided to sit at an empty table instead and ask him what they were doing after.

Drakk went silent, shedding some tears after he had listened to her reading the scroll.

Drakk said quietly:

 

"I love you too, mom"

 

Drakk looked down for a couple minutes.Then looked at Lightning.

 

"Thank you...really, thank you...Now I can finally have peace, knowing that my mother loved me..."

 

Drakk opens his saddle bag and takes out 50 bits and places them on the table.

 

"There you go, keep them, I didn't really have any use for them anyway"

 

Suddenly, Drakk looks to have a large pain on his neck, where 2 bite marks are visible.

 

"Damn that snake!"

 

Says Drakk in a painful way.

 

"You better put your hood and cape back on, before I fall unconscious and the force field fails"

 

Drakk says in a serious tone.

She smiled and levitated the bits back into his saddle bag. Please don't pay me... it's my duty to help all beings in Equestria, whether they realize it or not. I'm sure you'll have plenty of use for that. Her expression turned to concern when she noticed he was unstable and frantic. She did as he told her and put her hood and cape back on, then jumped off her chair and stood next to him for support.

 

What's wrong? Something hurt you? Are you sick? Maybe I should escort you to the hospital? Come on, follow me, she started to nudge him forward pressing her weight up against him.

She then turned and saw the pony Drakk had orginally spoken to, with an ominous expression on his face...like he saw something she didn't want him to see... Uh no... he...he knows... Horse apples! She snorted and tried to encourage Drakk to let her escort him out quickly.

Drakk breaks the spell and tries to stand up, but simply is to injured to use his legs

 

"I don't think that was a normal snake.."

 

He tries again to get up but just falls.

 

"I should've gotten antivenom at that village"

 

Drakk falls unconsious.

She picked him up and laid him on his back, not caring if other ponies saw her alicorn tributes at this point...Her hood fell down as his body slumped unconciously on her back. She focused her magic like her friend Polaris taught her on teleportation... Ok...just focus on the Ponyville hospital...

In a blast of rainbow magic, filling the tavern near instantly, with a loud POOF, she along with Drakk vanished into thin air... only to reappear, but outside the tavern and at the footsteps of the Ponyville Hospital.

 

Doctor??? I NEED A DOCTOR!!! SOMEPONY HELP! She galloped in, flinging the doors open with her levitation, still carrying Drakk on her back.

 

Oh goodness... The nurse approached in a hasty trot, here put him on this trolley.

 

Blissy obeyed and sat the young unicorn down as the nurse pushed him into an ER room. She attempted to follow her in but the nurse stopped her immediatly, along with the coming doctor, another unicorn pony.

 

Are you friend or realitive? The doctor asked.

 

I'm... I've met him at the tavern... She replied hesitently, trying to hide her alicorn attributes again.

 

The doctor noticed who she was but didn't care and continued. You can't go in here right now Princess Lightning Bliss... wait out here, we'll let you know how he's doing.

 

With that, he galloped into the ER doors while she took a seat in the waiting room, her hooves fidgiting with worry.

After 20 minutes, Drakk galloped out of the ER doors and slowly made it towards the waiting room, when he went in, he saw Lightning sitting on one of the seats.

 

"Thanks for saving my skin...I mean it.I would probably be dead by now if you weren't there"

 

So Drakk thanks her and smiles, it is visible he had a dose of Antivenom as he had a third hole in his neck.

Drakk reaches in to his saddlebag and levitates a amulet with the mark of magic on it.

 

"Here, take this.It lets you control those magic surges while at the same time boosting your magic in general, I found it on one of my trips in northern Equestria. And keep this one, I can't use it anyways, it's specialized for Alicorns."

 

Drakk smiles while giving it to Lightning.

 

"Well anyways, I've got to be off, who knows what will happen on my next trip, which is Fillydelphia.Anyways, hope to see you again some time!"

 

Drakk makes way to the exit, smiling.Knowing that he made a new friend. but before leaving Ponyville, it feels like he must go explain to Midnight what all that was about, and maybe changing the memory of some ponies before leaving...

Midnight just sat there wondering what had just happened. At the back of his mind was a nagging feeling that he wasn't going to be able to ask drakk what he and the alicorn were up to, although parts of his thoughts re-assured him that the alicorn had brought him to a hospital and that they would speak again soon."I don't feel like I was supposed to see that alicorn" he said to nopony but himself. Luckily all the other ponies in the tavern were either too caught up in their conversations to notice or were so drunk they would think that they were just seeing things.

Drakk made his way to the tavern to talk to Midnight.

He looken around to see where he was.Then of course, took a seat at the table he was sitting at.

 

"So, sorry for the inconvenience earlier, I got bit earlier by a snake, and the venom caught up with me.So this mare helped me out by taking me to the hospital"

 

Drakk said, as he levitates an apple out from his saddle bag, looking quite happy as he finally gets to eat something.
