Katie looked concerned, why wouldn't he just tell her what the things were for. She sighed, whatever, she had bigger scarier threats to deal with than some weird kid jacking science supplies. She smiled and accepted the Pikachu. "Thanks." she said, "Do you need anything else? What are you doing round here? Do you have a sibling who goes here...maybe a teachers kid? Someone who needs you around?" She snuggled the plushie and studdied the boy. @,

Dex woke up and looked outside. It was a beautiful morning, the birds were chirping and people seemed happy. The picture was so perfect that only one thing came to mind. He raised his right hand and gave the entirety of reality the finger. He then dragged himself out of bed and got ready for the day. Once he was ready, he left his room to get some coffee, he wasn't really hungry. He went up to the vending machine and got a coffee, black. He enjoyed the bitter taste and it woke him up. He then turned around and walked toward a bench with one other occupant on it who looked as miserable as him. 

 

"Not a morning person either huh?" He said as he sat down.

Rush just sort of sat there for a while after hearing Ben's story. He didn't exactly have a response prepared for that. "Uh... yeah. Let's hope so. Do we sit and wait for her to come back here, or should we just go and hope she shows up somewhere later? Because if you're right, I'd rather not be sitting here all weekend."

"I don't see how anyone could be" she mumbled into her cup. She took a sidelong glance at Dex, sizing him up and searching her memory banks for a name. "Who are you then? Most people here know to leave me alone unless they want something." Genesis snipped. She put the cup down and looked at him "You aren't a bloody narc right?".

"Well aren't you just cheerful." Dex said sarcastically as he took a sip from his cup. This girl was paranoid, but in a cute way. Even so, Dex just didn't have the heart to try and prey on that...Yeah right. "The name's Dex. Yeah, I'm a narc. In fact, I'm gonna tell on you right now." He couldn't hold back his smile at this point.

Ben smiled, "I'm gonna wait here awhile. You don't have to. Do you have any plans for the day?" He asked offhandedly, not knowing about the party plans. "I'm gonna be alone." He frowned, "Katie's off o some study group at Noon, I'm thinking of following her, but she doesn't seem to want me to, which kinda bums me out." He nibbled on some of Katie's fruit. Minx noticed her flinch at the question. "Sorry if I said something mean to you over the past couple of days. It was just a question." Minx muttered sadly. She quickly dried her hair then walked out the shower to her room. Placing everything on her bed, she then walked back out and headed to the cafeteria.

"Sorry." Dart mumbled. He was still half-asleep and apologised to Minx as he accidentally bumped into her. Minx just looked at him and continued walking.

Rush shrugged. "Hell, I don't know. Normally I'd like to think I'm a pretty good person to come to when you need advice about girls, but you lost me as soon as I heard you were sleeping in the same bed together and not doing anything. But if she doesn't want you to come, then you should probably respect that. The two of you are together pretty much much constantly, maybe she wants a break from that."

Ben thought about this, was he really smothering Katie, hanging around her too much? He hoped not. Was he annoying her? He said, "Ya, good point, I have a hard time figuring out what Katie wants me to do. She never tells me when she wants her space,she always just kinda disappears when she wants to be left alone. And I never follow her. But the other day, when she was talking about the study group, it was weird cuz she had this really nervous smile, like she does when she's lying. And she told me really carefully that I could not come. Then repeated it about five times. I think she's hiding something, but I can't imagine what." He shook his head, "maybe I shouldn't pry. Rush shook his head. If someone else told Ben that was fine by him, but he wasn't going to be the one to blow their secret."If she has something she wants to keep a secret from you, it's not my place to tell you even if I do know anything. Besides, do you really think she'd be more likely to trust me with a secret than you? You've been friends with her for years. I can't even remember her last name." He sighed and got up. "Anyway, I think I'm going to go lift weights. A good workout helps wake up the body, and it's not like I have anything better to do on a saturday morning. I guess you can join me if you want, although frankly you don't seem like the type who likes to spend a lot of time pumping iron."

"You're still half asleep, aren't you?" Minx asked him. The boy nodded and yawned. "What's your name?" She asked him. She may as well get to know the boy who practically bowled her over.

 

"Dart Nymph, sheila." He slouched as he walked, still trying to wake up. He looked at her and realised that she had striking purple hair. "You have purple hair. Are you Minx? I heard talk of you around school." Dart said as he straightened up. Stretching, they both walked into the cafeteria and got some breakfast. They then sat down at a vacant table.

 

Minx cringed when she heard that. "What kind of rumours?" She asked fearfully.

Ben shrugged, "Weights aren't my thing, now if you were going for a jog I'd join that, but I'm good with just chilling here, I need to get some actual breakfast anyway, not to mention another cup of coffee." He smiled brightly, but beneath it, his mind was whirling. This settled it, Katie was hiding something, something Rush was in on, and from what he could gather Whisper, Katie's roommate was in on it as well. Well he was frustratingly curious, he could also deduce two things about the situation. The first, it wasn't Katie's secret to tell, she was guarding it not only for herself, but for others, otherwise Ben would be the first to know. The second, whatever she was hiding was either extremely dangerous, or very mundane. Maybe she was helping a friend throw a surprise party, and she wasn't allowed to tell people. Or maybe she was part of a dangerous organization made to save/destroy the human race. Either way, Ben had no business being a part of it. "Thanks for the advice by the way." He said with a small smile, "I'll give her he space." He got up and went to the food line, hoping that today's snooping wouldn't raise any alarms. @@Alex Kennedy,

"Suit yourself. See you later, then." Rush turned and left the cafeteria, heading out towards the gym. As he walked, he thought about the last part of their conversation. Maybe Ben deserved to know, after all, but that was really none of his business. Hopefully Ben would let it go and it wouldn't become an issue.

"Oh, ha ha play a joke on the schizo eh?" she sneered. Genesis shrugged, looking down into her cup "Being in my line of work you don't exactly trust every bloke that sits next to ya." This guy made her nervous for some reason and she really didn't want to find out why.

Whisper had opened her mouth in apology to Minx, but she had gone. Whisper sadly smiled and finished up, sauntering her way over to the cafeteria. While waiting in the food line, she had an internal debate of how much to eat because of the party later on.

Katie put a blank expression on, Jeremy=Lyoko. Normal people are not supposed to know about Lyoko OR Jeremy. This kid somehow knew about tunnel to the factory, was fretting getting thrown in prison, wouldn't give his full name, and was stealing science supplies. Uh-huh, this was suspicious. But she didn't seem to have enough evidence to go off on, as she and Ben were the only of the group to interact with Shadow, and the last time she had babbled about him, she had sounded crazy. Fine then, time to play dumb ally. "Uh, ya, I'll tell the other kids to leave you alone. I mean," she kicked her foot and batted her eyes, "If they are bullying you, you SHOULD tell a teacher, but I can chase them off if you want." She snuggled the Pikachu and pretended t be thoughtful, "As for Jeremy, well I know a couple people named Jeremy who go to the school, and I think the choir teacher Miss Belle has a husband named Jeremy, he might have gone here. But no, I've never heard of Jeremy Bel, bel, what was his last name again?" She asked with a childish smile. @, 

 

Ben had a newly obtained breakfast, he noticed the boy, Dart next to one of Katie's friends and decided to go sit with them. "Hi guys!" He said, "Whatcha been up to?" @,

"So a schizo, with natural paranoia, has a job where no one can be trusted." Dex said as a matter of factly. "You, my friend, have trust issues. Although I understand not trusting everyone who sits next to them." He then took another sip of his coffee, only to find that the cup was now empty. He let out an annoyed sigh and chucked the cup at the nearest trash can.

Katie couldn't keep a hint of a glare off her face, 'Putain ce gamin est ennuyeux.' she thought to herself, deciding not to mention the police thing as she suspected he would just give her a cryptic answer. She put on a smile hoping her annoyance and suspicion wasn't showing through, "No I don't know anything about that." She said, strangely in a southern doll baby accent. "Well, mah friend Minx has purple hair." She acted cute, "but I don't know anypony with pink, but I'll keep an eye out. You should go home, rest that leg. It will hurt for a bit, but it will get better whiten the week." She said it sickly sweet. If he wouldn't give a lick of information, then neither would she. @,

Shadow looked at her as if he knew she was lying

 

"Well if you say you don't know him then i guess i will have to trust you. I think i will just stay here for a while since i've got a big feeling that the police are still looking for me and they could be outside the school waiting for me"

Katie had to mentally strain to keep from gritting her teeth, but then an idea came to her, "Stay right here doll." She said, her smugness manifesting through utter excitement. She left the room quietly enough, than zoomed down the halls to the cafeteria. She found Ben, eating with Minx and Dart. She gave Minx a quick hug before saying, "I need to barrow this!" and grabbing Ben by the hand.@,

 

 

"OK, Ben, I have a job for you, I can't tell you why but trust me it's important!" She said in English, speed walking down the hall, clutching his hand. "I need you to hang out with someone all day, keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't follow to my study group."

 

Ben stopped walking in the hallway, "Katie, you and I both know it's not a study group." He said bluntly, "if it was you just would have gone to it, and not mentioned it to me."

 

"You know me too well Bennyboop, no it's not a study group, but I'm in too deep to tell you what it actually is. Understood? It's not my plac or choice to tell you." Katie said firmly.

 

Ben sighed, "I figured. I'll stop poking around."

 

Katie gave him a hug of thanks, and pulled him on, "Tank you, know I want you to watch this kid, under no circumstances can you allow him to follow me. Keep him occupied, maybe even drive him home if he needs to go home, but don't put yourself in danger. Understood? And please don't follow me yourself, then YOU will be in just as deep as I am, and for the sake of our friendship, I can't have that"

 

Ben sighted, "For you and the good of the world, I will abide fair lady." He said.

 

Katie giggled and entered the inferiority, "This is Ben." She said to Shadow, "He'll hang out with you and make sure you're safe, I have a study group to get to at Noon." @,

"So your Ben, that's a nice name even though Shadow is an awesome nickname for me. All my friends call me Shadow because of how I'm really fast and I'm sometimes good and sometimes bad... you know like Shadow the hedgehog."

Katie was proud of her little solution, she herself was bad with secrets and might give away too much. But Ben didn't know much of anything about her secret and was much better at hiding information. She waltzed over to the table where Minx and Dart sat, and decided she would hang out with them until the party.

 

"Hey guys, what's up?" she asked the two. @, 

 

 

Ben shook his head, his stance was relaxed, but he was prepared for a fight if it came to that.  "Nah, I'm just her friend. We've pretty much known each other forever." He noticed the bandages, "What's that on your leg? Didya get hurt?"  @,

"Yea i did. I was running away from some people and i think one of them hurt me somehow or it could of just been because i jumped over the gate that you have outside the school. I then hid in the school and Katie found me and so she helped me with my leg and here i am"

If he was trying to insult her he had done it, and if it had not been his intention; she had woken up cranky. Genesis growled underneath her breath and got up, throwing the cup away and fixing her jacket. Glaring one last time at the sun, she ducked into a door; disappearing in the rush in the hallways.
