She smiled at Hellinx devilishly. Looking over at Katie, Genesis asked "Where are they at the moment? The infirmary you said?". When Katie voiced her concern Genesis shrugged "They'll think Shadow is a student as long as he's on grounds, the records at the school are so shoddy that they assume they've lost the file or IT fucked up." Genesis thought for a second, drumming her nails on the table.

 

Whisper couldn't argue, detention was the best place she could think of where they wouldn't have to worry as much about Ben following Katie or Shadow.

Katie nodded, agreeing with Genesis on the record thing, "You're right about that. And yes they're in the inferiority. Maybe I should actually tell Ben that he needs to be put in detention. He would be more for it if he was in on the plan. What do you have in mind by the way? I have no idea ow to get him into that much trouble."

"No need to worry. Genny and I will handle the details, you and Whisper try to figure out how to get Ben in on the plan." Hellinx smiled. If she didn't know any better than this would hav been fun. "We need ideas. Pranks, fights, uuuh .." Hellinx trailed off as she tried to figure out how to put two boys in detention.

"We need a distraction to get the nurse out of her office so the other can get in and out no problem. I hear she's a bit of a brute though. And yeah if you wanna give this Ben chap a head's up is fine with me." Genesis snagged a grape and popped it into her mouth.

Katie nodded, "Whisper, you're with me, basic mission, warn Ben. We have to distract the nurse, and get the message to Ben without Alerting Shadow to our plan." She thought about it, "Can you fake an injury, headache, stomachache flu? I'm good with anything. If we give the nurse a patient to tend to she'll be distracted enough. Once you're in, ask Ben to go get you something from your dorm. Use the code word Dragon somehow, trust me, he'll get the message. Shadow can't see me or even know I'm involved so be careful about what you say. I'll wait in the hall and explain things to him." She nodded at her own plan, "What do you think?" @@RunsWithSquirlz,

Whisper thought quickly, she had enough accidents in the day for her to be plausible. She touched her head and smiled "The nurse did say if my headaches came back to go to her."

 

Genesis nodded.

Minx had witnessed only a day before some guy had called Genesis "Genny". The same guy had soon suffered a busted lip and bloody mouth by "Genny". She didn't seem to mind though, when Minx used the moniker. "Now, my love. We need to brainstorm something simple for a quick weekend detention and nothing more...".

Katie grinned at Whisper "Sweet let's go!" She offered the girl her hand and dragged her off, blowing a kiss to Genesis and Hellinx as she left. "Okay," she said well walking down the hall, "see if you can use the code word 'Dragon', Ben will get it. Good luck, and don't let on to Shadow that you know me. Just get Ben out of the room." They stood in front of the door now, and Katie grinned at her friend, wrapping her in a hug. "Thank you by the way. You rock for doing this." @@RunsWithSquirlz,

She gave Katie a thumbs-up and slipped into the nurses office, sniffling and looking rather pitiful. The nurse glanced up from her desk and sighed, she had wanted to sit down and fill out her Sudoku but apparently that wasn't happening. After hearing Whisper's plight, the nurse ducked into her office to pull up her file. Whisper sat on a cot across from Shadow and Ben.

 

"Owiwieieieiie..." she groaned. "Hi Ben, weird to see you in here again...why do I always meet you in the nurses office?"

Ben blinked at the appearance of Whisper, he turned from the boy he was interrogating, "Oh hey Whisper." He smiled, trying not to look as freaked out as he felt. "Are you OK? What happened?" He studied the way she was holding her head, and guessed it was a headache, maybe a migraine. "Do you need anything sweetie?"

 

Katie stood watch in the nearby hallway, hoping things were going well. @@RunsWithSquirlz,

Hellinx smiled and looked at Genesis. "Okay then. Something simple for the weekend. Hmm." Hellinx apped her chin in thought, trying to comebup with something simple. "How does a fight sound?" She asked her. Maybe a fight was too simple. Genesis could come up with something better.

Whisper tumbled the strange word Dragon around since it was in English. She had practiced it enough on the way to say it simply enough. "Ugh...I know this sounds stupid but could you bring me my bag? I left it in the library...ouch....it's the one with a Dragon on it. Pink."

Genesis snapped her fingers. "Right. Simple theft. If we plant something of yours on them and you accuse them of stealing it, once found is automatic detention. Especially if they start denying it." She hopped off the table "Gimme your phone and then try and get Angelinx to pout for a teacher, I just need enough time to slip it to Katie and Ben and then you come along with the teacher"

"That'll work." Hellinx said. She stood up and gave Genesis her phone. "I don't think we should do this but alright. What should I do again?" Angelinx asked curiously. She didn't feek like doing this but knew that she had no choice. "So I should pout like this?" Angelinx demonstrated by giving Genesis her best pouty face. She did the puppy-dog look combined with a quivering upper lip.

Ben raised his eyebrow, did she just say...in English, hmm, that was him and Katie's code word from back when they were kids. "Sure." he said slowly, then he got up, waved goodbye to Whisper and Shadow, and left the room telling the nurse that he would be right back. As he stepped in the hall he looked around for Katie, seeing her leaning against a nearby wall.

 

"So," he said slyly, "Trick me into getting information than send in an agent to spring me? Too sly Granger."

 

Katie grinned, "So you figured y plot, what did you learn?"

 

Ben narrowed his eyes, "I learned that you're messing with things beyond your control. I know about the cohos emerald, and Codely."

 

Katie's cool expression changed to one of fear, "Ben, honey," She said placing her hands on his shoulder, "what did he tell you?"

 

"He has something he describes as an unlimited power source, calls it a chaos emerald. He says it's valuable and dangerous and he bought if off a kid named Codely. Any of this ringing a bell in that little head of yours?"

 

Katie nodded, heart pounding with fear, "y-ya, the name. I know Codely." Then she bit her lip, "I'm sorry Ben, but I need you to learn more OK? And also, I'm gonna have to ask that you just go with what's about to happen alright? It's gonna suck, but just go with it. I'll explain...some things later. But right now this is important."

 

"Sure, what?"

 

"My friends are going to get you, and Shadow, into detention."  She looked him in the eyes, pleading.

 

Ben gave an amused glare, "Why?" he asked.

 

"We need him guarded. Watched. It's better than leaving him to his own devises, he's dangerous, or at least, until further notice we have to consider him as such."

 

Ben nodded, "fine, I'll take the detention and do what I can."

 

"Thank you!" Katie gave him a hug and a peck on the cheek. "I swear I'll make it up to you! And gather as much intell as you can, OK?"

 

Ben gave a tired smile, "I will. But you're not going to use this intell to destroy the world are you?"

 

Katie shook her head, not entirely sure but confident in her answer nonetheless. "Just the opposite. Now go in there and wait for detention!"

 

Ben sighed and rubbed his temples, "Right then. See ya round hero."

 

He entered the room, "Sorry Whisper, I couldn't find your book, we can check the lost and found later. Need anything else?" He said gently. @@RunsWithSquirlz,

She pinched her cheek "Keep the look, quit the lip and go tell a teacher your phone has been stolen and people say it was Shadow and Ben. Make it convincing to the very end but not over-dramatic. You can do it, sweetheart." Genesis ran off. Racing out of the cafeteria and ducking underneath the window of the nurses office. She crouched low and managed to slip the phone very quietly under the door and run off.

 

Whisper smiled sweetly at Ben "Oh well...thanks I guess." For just a moment he saw her eyes dart to the floor and then back up to him.

Ben smiled, and gave a little nod to Whisper saying as he did, "sorry about it going missing. I ran into miss Granger in the library," He used Katie's last name, "she told me some interesting things about the janitor picking up lost stuff and not putting them in the lost and found until the night shift. So  I suppose you should check in the morning." He sat on a bed facing away from Shadow and gave a little thumbs up to Whisper, winking at her before laying on the cot. "This is gonna be a long day." He sighed. @@RunsWithSquirlz,

Angelinx gave up the look and tried to do what Genesis said. "Okay then. Guess I'll go find a teacher." Angelinx said to herself. She walked out of the cafeteria and soon spotted a teacher. She mentally prepared herself and walked up to the teacher. "Miss, my phone has been stolen. People have been saying that the people who stole it were called Ben and Shadow." Angelinx added in the puppy-dog look for extra insurance. The teacher looked at her in disbelief for a second but her face melted when the look came.

 

The teacher nodded and asked where they were. "They're in the infirmary for some reason." Angelinx pointed and tugged the teacher's hand. She was acting like a tattle-tale now. The teacher took her hand away and walked over to the infirmary. Angelinx followed behind and when she got there, she gave Katie a thumbs-up.

Katie watched with a smirk as the teacher followed Angelinx into the room, waving hello as she did.

 

Ben was not surprised when a teacher busted down the door with one of Katies friends in tow, he didn't open his eyes, he just stayed still and smiled.

 

"You." The Teacher said to Shadow, "Did you take this girls phone?"

 

Minx had moved right next to Ben, Ben took the cue and snatched the phone from her pocket, sticking it in his own, hoping that that is what she wanted him to do in the first place.

 

Then he sprung up and started moving guiltily toward the door.

 

"You don't leave!" The teach said to Ben, I know you boys took it.

 

Ben sputtered his words, acting defensive "Phone...what phone? Me and shadow didn't take a," He awkwardly shifted the thing before saying, "phone! That's absurd!" @,@,

"Anyway, Why would i want to take this girls phone? I have no use of it. Even if i did take this girls phone then what are you going to do to me, you can put me in detention because i don't go to this school"

Ben raised his eyebrow, "You don't? I was under the impression you did, otherwise why would you be here, alone, unchaperoned, and in the inferiority? That doesn't make since." He shifted and the phone fell out of his pocket. Bens eyes went wide as plates, "Umm, that's m-mine? And...OK, it's Minx's, but I swear Shadow didn't help me steal it!" He exclaimed his eyes darting around the room and his hands fiddling with his hair.

 

The teacher glared, "Likely story. You to are coming with me." She turned to Shadow, "Young man, we'll check our records. If you don't go here than you will stay in the ISS room until you're legal guardian takes you home. If you do go hear, than you get a week of detention for lying about not being a student. Let's go." She dragged the boys out of the room handing the phone to Minx before verifying that it was her's. Ben put on a great protest act, but was shut up with the teachers glare.

 

Katie was watching at the door, by the time the group was in the hall she had ducked into the girls bathroom. She went into the room, telling the nurse she wanted to see Whisper, and she congratulated the two actors. "You guys did awesome!" She said, wrapping the two in a hug one at a time before pulling away. "With that taken care of, what do we do now?" @,@,@@RunsWithSquirlz,

Whisper had been a nervous wreck during the confrontation scene, luckily she had turned to face the wall so she wouldn't have to see her friend get yelled at. The nurse had looked down at her and then at the scene and sighed, going back into her office until it was over. She put up a newspaper and disappeared behind it.

 

Whisper hugged Katie and Minx "Gosh, I feel so bad for Ben now!"

Angelinx walked over to the wall and slid down it. She pulled her knees up to her chest and then crossed her arms over her bowed head. "That was horrible. Why did I do that? Of course I did it for the team but that doesn't mean I have to like it!" Angelinx muttered to herself.

Katie suddenly felt like a bad friend. "It's OK," She encouraged to her friends, slightly blown away at how moral the two were, "Me and Ben have had our share of taking detentions for each other. He owed me one anyway." But then she but her lip, a strange emotion in her gut, guilt mixed with indecision, conflicting obligations, and fear. She had never felt like this before. "Ben agreed to this, and he put on a great show in my opinion, but I feel like I should offer him a better explanation than 'It's really important' Oh, by the way, when I was talking to Ben in the hall, he mentioned an interesting name; Codely." She looked to her friends waiting with baited breath for a response. @,@@RunsWithSquirlz,

At the mention of the name, Angelinx stiffened. She looked straight ahead and just talked to the wall opposite her. "Don't say that name whenever Hellinx appears." Angelinx said seriously. She didn't want to go into the reason behind that because it made her feel sorry for Hellinx.

Whisper gasped "Oh no...but...". She pinched her the bridge of her nose and calmed down "So Shadow is Codely or...he knows Codely? How could he...?".

Suddenly she was very scared, she wanted her boyfriend. "Anyway...it's getting late now isn't it? We can discuss this at the party...with everyone else. Maybe Jeremy knows something."

As the teacher was taking Shadow and Ben somewhere Shadow noticed someone in the corner of his eye standing outside the school, he turned to see who it was... "Codely..?"

 

Shadows eyes widened when he saw Codely standing outside. Shadow ran for the door what would take him outside and finally ended up right next to Codely. Shadow waved at Ben... "Have a good time"

 

Shadow and Codely then ran off into the distance
