Arti grinned back, "No, just a guy I don;t trust but you, sister? seems to have warmed up too already. And no, this isn;t a crime thing, that'd look bad on my record when i'm trying to talk about my ideology.

Ben raised an eyebrow and mouthed, 'Twister?' huh, strange things really were happening. Then there was the concept of 'brother,' him and Katie were kinda like brother and sister, but he would describe their relationship more like partners in crime. Two outlaws on the run from society and rules.

  The sky outside was now a cloudy grey. The air was heavy with static, the wind picked up slightly enough to play with leaves on the streets. People had been enjoying a nice day up until now, now they looked at the sky and sighed; wondering when it would rain and how much exactly. The news had neglected to mention any kind of shower in the morning so most people were displeased.

 

In the early hours of dawn, a chemical plant in the neighboring city had to be evacuated. Of course, they had told the populace it was due to a fire drill so don't pay mind to the alarms. What the populace didn't know was that the fan for the plants Main Computer had somehow failed and caused the machine to overheat; effectively force-closing the many running programs. X.A.N.A. had found this quite easy, the company having little to no security made all of this a menial task. X.A.N.A. had shut down all security bypasses and all vent regulators so when a product was made, instead of the pollutants being filtered all of it was contained and then blown out to the surrounding atmosphere. Just as X.A.N.A. had calculated, all the chemicals were absorbed in the gathered clouds.

 

Now the cloud hovered over their city, the densest part seeming to be above the school.

Genesis had given up entirely. Now she sat with her head against the wall bored out of her mind. Genesis chose not to pay attention to all the stuff about computers and something about scanners. She needed a cigarette badly but knew that with the lack of the air circulation; she'd just be pissing everyone off. Just like she was.

Dex hopped on the Over wing and held on. "Thanks for the assist, buthan I don't think we are prepared to fight these things." AsThe overwing glided along, Dex yelled out to Jeremy "How do you kill these things man? I'm getting real tired of them" he said while firing more energy attacks

 

"Fair enough, we need to get somewhere where we can materialize and not fall in to the digital sea or get trapped in a Guardian." Alphonse replied. He started flying it farther away from Codely and said "Bloody hell... No way to kill them? Not even drawing that dark one far enough away from that glorified mook and unloading on it? I was planning on having Dex here draw it away and unload while flying away from it, and I would face down the minion kid. Guess that won't work though. It's a shame, I really wanted to drink enough that I would pretty much have more alcohol than blood in my system and go nuts. Actually... If there's nothing going on topside, can't we just go and attack him, causing ourselves to be re-materialized and get out of here? I mean if he isn't doing anything, what's the point in even being in here, you know? We can fight, and if XANA REALLY wants us in a Guardian, we can just attack mook-meister there and he would either have to retreat and let the guardians go after us or attack us and re-materialize us, letting us escape the Guardians. Hell, we might even be able to beat him!"

Arti then looked up at the perplexed man next to him,  and began thinking of an excuse for the random things they were saying,"It's an inside joke."

 

Going back to Jeremy, "Anyway, I assume you can talk to her? Ask her if she knows this guy and i'll put him on."

Rush's nerves caused him to wake up a few minutes before his alarm went off. After spending the better part of an hour preparing, he found himself heading down to Whisper's room early, his head filled with doubts and stupid concerns that he wasn't used to having to worry about.

 

In retrospect, he decided, the cologne was a bit much. In fact, not even a bit, it was downright overkill. Hell, she could probably smell him from here. That alone might not have been so bad, but then there was the suit. Oh god, the suit. He had basically no nice clothes at all unless you counted the blazer he wore to the dance, and he couldn't just show up dressed like a complete slob. So he'd dug out his old suit, which didn't even really fit him anymore, and even if it did, looked completely wrong on him, like a little kid forced to dress up for church or something. At least he'd manage to buy flowers without messing that up. He hoped she liked flowers, because otherwise this was pretty much a complete failure already.

Inside joke huh? Didn't seem like one, as the boy before Ben was a horrible liar, but he decided to let it go, instead he said, "She's still at the school right?" The question was doubtful. He didn't really notice the gathering clouds, back in Washington the weather changed every two seconds and he was no stranger to rain. But other kids were packing up and moving inside, near clearing the court yard. He wondered if the other boy would go inside to, but he was content with chilling outside. Somewhere close the first drop hit the ground, landing on a petal of a red flower. The flower withered and died.

Theb realising what Arti just said, Jeremy repeated the question to Katie. "Katie, I'm talking with Arti on the phone an he says that there's a guy named Ben with him. Do you know anyone named Ben?" Jeremy asked her.

 

"We have had a change of plans. Seeming how much better you have gotten, we decided to let you out earlier than expected." The nurse told Minx. Minx smiled and slowly got out of bed.

 

"Really? That's great" Minx said happily. Waving bye to the nurse, she picked up he bag and slowly walked out of the hospital. "What was that guy's name again? Jeremy? I wonder if he's at the factory." Minx said to herself. Seeing no other option, Minx slowly started walking to the factory. She din't notice the clouds but felt her head starting to get cold so she put her hood on an tightened the strings in an effort to ward it off.

People were hurrying about, teens, workers and mothers with small children hurried into the buildings around them. The wind had rose to a harsh gust racing and whistling between the constructs. A wave of deep thunder rolled over the city only slightly louder than all the honking from cars below. Instead of the air around Minx and the others feeling fresh and tasting light, the air was sour with a tinge of acidity; like you were surrounded by lemons.

Whisper jumped back with Katies sudden spike of enthusiasm. Standing a little farther to avoid the snow.

"Calm down." Jeremy chuckled and resumed talking to Arti. "This is going to be weird. Put him on. Apparently Katie knows him." Jeremy told him.

 

Dart finished the bottle if gin and drunkenly lookedta the vodka. Shrugging, he just started guzzling the vodka which left an intense burning sensation in his throat.

 

Minx made a face a she atarted to taste lemons in the air. "Why does it taste an smell like lemons all of a sudden?" Minx aske no-on in particular.

Ben took the pone from Arti and made his way to a bench of a now empty picnic table. He would have to investigate this 'zanah attack' later.

Katie calmed herself slightly and the wind died down and the clouds rolled away, but the snow remained, up to her and whisper's ankles.

"Hey Kat!" Ben said, speaking in English now.

Katie grinned when she heard the familler voice, ice formed on her fingers.

"Hey Beeeny" Katie replied, "So, where you at?" She also spoke in English.

"School, but you're not I'm assuming." She could hear the smile in his voice.

"Would you believe me if I said I was saving the world?" Katie joked, talking with her hands and causing shapeless ice shards to fly from her fingers.

"I might," Ben responded amused, "but I'm assuming you're playing video games."

"That would be correct, to be honest I'm doing both."

"I'm not surprised." He laughed, "so, in case you haven't figured, I got a scholarship to Kadic! I'm here for the whole year!"

"No way oh my God this is gonna be the best year ever!" The air gained a crisp chill. "I can't really say where I'm at, can the NSA tap phones here?"

"I wouldn't put it past them."

"Then I'll tell you in person, I'll meet you at my dorm in the morning."

"Ya, which is yours?"

"403, south wing."

"4-0-3, K, got it down. See you soon! Ow!"

"What?"

"Oh, I don't know, the rain...well, I should probably get inside, see you soon."

Worry twisted in Katie's gut and the crisp chill turned ice cold, "Ya, see you." The phone hung u, "Jeremy," she said back in French, "Wheres the tower?" @,@@RunsWithSquirlz,

Rush knocked on Whisper and Katie's door and... nothing. He knocked again. Nothing. Well, he was earlier than he said he'd be after all, maybe they were still out somewhere. The factory, maybe? Where else would they be, really? He shrugged and decided to head over to the factory to meet Whisper there. Assuming she was there. If not, he had time to go there and back without really being late to pick her up.

 

Stepping outside, it took him a while to notice the strange smell in the air, his overpowering cologne obscuring any other scent. Which is why when he felt like there was something wrong with his breathing, he assumed it must just be that he wasn't used to wearing a tie. And so he took it off, never having understood the point of ties in the first place. By the time he reached the entrance to the sewer, he could tell something wasn't right. Well, something else aside from the fact that he was climbing into the sewers in his best (or rather, only) suit, that is.

First, it was only a few drops. Landing here and there only touching a few people. Then the rain broke, torrent rain swept across the city like a storm on the savannah. Anyone outside that was unlucky enough suddenly felt the sting of a thousand needles with the searing burn of acid. It was making quick work of plant life and was quick to burn skin but for now it only scratched the surface of cars and edifices.

Rush felt something sting his hand. He looked down only to feel the same sensation in several other places. The rain? What, was he allergic to water now? It wasn't too bad at first, but it didn't stop hurting. In fact, it only got worse. Before long the pain was too much and he lost his grip on the ladder, falling to the bottom of the sewer tunnel. Well, so much for his suit. Wait a minute-his suit! It was... dissolving?! The rain seemed to be eating away at it wherever it landed. He scrambled to his feet and ran down the tunnel, thinking that being underground equated to shelter from the rain. And it might have, if there was already rainwater soaking the tunnel, burning through the soles of his shoes. And so he ran faster toward the factory, his body burning all over.

Ben got under cover and watched with fearful fascination as the water hit the ground and destroyed the nearby plant life. He saw two middle school chirdren running about screaming. Ben saw another kid still under cover putting up an umbrella. He ran for the umbrella kid, "dude, give me that, get inside!" Ben exclaimed, pointing to the dying grass.

 

"Uh wha-oh, shit dude I'm not going out there." The boy shoved the umbrella to Ben and ran inside. Ben opened the umbrella and ran for the kids, small drops of rain squishing up in his shoes making him grunt in pain, "You two!" he said to the screaming kids, "Under the umbrella now!" the rain was seeping through, "Now!"

 

The two kids nodded and took cover. Ben made sure the two were underneath the umbrella, all of the 3 of them had blisters forming," c'mon, to the highschool building, it's closest!"

 

The kids nodded, they all took cover, Ben realized the umbrella was soaked and he threw it out.

 

"You two, go find a teacher." Ben sent them off. Alarms began to go off.

As Arti checked the news online, he quickly became aware of the sudden, and I mean sudden appearence of the storm. He then began to notice the drops of rain, and then a few screams. 

 

 

 

"All students inside, this is not a drill!" A voice blared over the intercom. 

"Well, this is the attack, I'll shoot an email and link to Jeremy, I'm guessing he knows what too do." said Arti too Himself, "I better get back to Ben, make sure he's out of this stuff and OUCH!"

 

Arti yelped as a drop hit his wrist, so he made note to stay under the trench coat as he ran.

Minx yelped as she felt water touch her face and then start to burn it. This is why she hated water! Well, one of the reasons. Quickly gathering speed, she ran the rest of the way to the factory.

 

She stoppe in front of th elevator an impatiwntly waited for the elevator to come.

Whisper watched Katie from a few steps away, delighted to see the frozen crystals spraying from her hand. It made sense that an elemental power would be connected to the wielders emotions to her and she supposed that's what they always meant by the power within. She lifted up her boots to look down at the impression she was leaving in the snow around her ankles. While Katie was having her conversation with Ben, Whisper was in the background playing in the snow.

 

She stopped when she heard Katie ask Jeremy about the tower again but this time with conviction. Whisper stood quickly and went with her friend "Has something happened?"

C'mon, let's run." Katie bolted for the tower, wondering if Whisper was gonna use her super speed to get there.
