In a rare display of humanism, Genesis brushed past Katie and Whisper, scooping up Angelinx in a tight hug. "I'm sorry sweetheart, it was all my fault...I'm sorry." she whispered into her ear. "Tell them to leave you alone or else I'm going to torture them, I mean it."

Whisper nodded "I'm sorry. You're right...it's just...I thought he would stay in the darn computer!"

Angelinx hugged Genesis back and then stepped away from the group. "I need to think for a bit. I'm going for a walk. We should gove it to the IT guy's girlfriend. She'll know what to do with it." Angelinx muttered. Rubbing one of her arms, Angelinx accidentally created friction and walked away with no destination in mind.

Dex started walking away while the others were preoccupied with...whatever they were doing. he was deep in thought for a moment. He wasn't that affected by Codely's words. Maybe he would be if he actually considered any of these people his friends, but no. Codely was right about one thing though, he was the one who turned the Super Computer on and unleashing that prick, not that he felt that bad about it. How was he supposed to know the computer held a malevolent AI bent on global domination. Someone should have at least left a note on it. Anyway, Dex made up his mind that he would stop Codely and XANA no matter what it took. He just wanted to see Codely's face when he's beaten.

It was then that he remembered that girl from earlier and what he said to her. He yelled out to Genesis, "By the way, sorry if I offended you earlier." and he kept on walking.

Katie frowned and debated whether she should let Minx have her space or wrap her in a hug. She just shifted and said, "She seems capable enough to keep it safe." She shrugged and saw Shadow was still there, she shrugged and decided to throw him off a bit, "I mean, better to leave it with someone out of the loop right?" Than she changed the subject, "A better question would be what should we do with him?" She pointed to the terrified Shadow. "And also, can we tell Ben just a little bit?"

 

Ben shifted, still sitting against the wall, "I think I have a basic idea anyway, you guys are on the good side right?"

Genesis shrugged "I don't know mate. I barely know you guys and I'm already dealing with SWAT teams, I'm on no one's side."She was very sincere-though blunt- and meant what she said. Walking off she called back "See ya for pizza."

"Of course were the good guys!" Whisper answered frazzled. She was worried about what Codely had in store for them but she knew that when the time came, they could handle it. She had faith. Without waiting for an answer, Whisper sprung up onto her heels "Ben, Katie...I'm going to take a breather but I'll see you guys soon for the party!".

Katie blinked, now she and Ben, and Shadow were alone, with only Ben's question answered. "But..." she yelped, then she sat next to Ben, and just stared at Shadow, "What are we going to do with you?" She asked him, than she blushed, "listen dude, I'm sorry I took your thing, but we were all gonna die if I didn't. Please understand. You should go home, forget this happened, trust me. We'll keep you alive and out of trouble. Just don't listen to Codely, he'll throw you away as soon as he doesn't need you. He's heartless. Iv'e seen him do it."@,

 

She stood and pulled Ben to his feet, "as for you...I don't want you involved. I've seen things that would scare the bravest men to suicide. But if you feel you need to know...then come with me to the party." She dragged in a breath. "Just be careful."

"I guess that chaos emerald would have enough power to destroy the world but i don't think he was going to destroy the world with it since he lives on this world... I think he was just playing mind games with you but i gave him the second chaos emerald so he would let me go but that doesn't have enough power to destroy the world. It's more of an upgrade energy source, it's able to upgrade tech"

"Well, that's just the thing, he doesn't live on the world." She said seriously studying the boy, "You have stumbled onto something much more powerful than a real life video game. He's been using you as a hiding place, and it's worked until now. What if I told you that the last hour and a half has been erased from your memory? And your's too Ben. Katie was irked, he had shown no sign of knowing before than just 'poof' random plot device op knowledge. Great. "You just said he lived on the world, than you spouted out knowledge indicating that you knew he didn't. Come on then, explain your plot contrivance. I want good answers and consistent story from you form now on. So tell me, how do you know this and why wasn't it foreshadowed Shadow?" She glared. @,

"I like to lie a lot and i didn't know you knew anything about the lyoko but since you do i will fill you in. Jeremie talked about the lyoko a lot and sometimes i could over hear him and he once talked about the old factory near this school so i went to the factory and found the super computer. I found out info about the lyoko and i thought i would scan myself and go there and i did but when i got there Codely caught me and put something in my brain that lets him teleport to my location whenever he wants even if the super computer is off so even though you thought you woke Codely up when the super computer turned on... He's really been in this world for ages. I then shut down the super computer thinking it would stop this virus that's in my head but it didn't so i thought of deleting all the info about me going to the lyoko on the super computer and thats why the return to the past worked on me but the virus was still in my head so i left it there but it's got one good thing too it that he forget to get rid of when he put it in. I know everything he knows from the monsters he makes to the XANA super computers so if you thought i was Codely then in a way you was right"

"Uh huh," Katie remained unconvinced, "Didn't you ask me if I knew where Jeremy was? Why did you ask me if you knew him? How did you know him? If you lie a lot than why should I believe you? If you know everything Codely knows, than before the RttP how come you didn't see it coming when he cast you aside the second you gave him the device? Don't you remember that now if you have his memories? How come you are still with him even after you know what he did to us kids? Why were you so afraid of the cops if you knew that Codely could teleport you out of any situation?" She sat down, "Shall I go on?." @,

"Codely wasn't my friend... well he used to be. If he teleports to me i don't see it because he turns into that black mist once he teleports to avoid being seen and I don't want to work for Codely but he will hurt or even kill me if i don't get the stuff he wants... I'm sorry"

Katie sighed, "OK then, um, tell me, who exactly are you? Do you have a family or friends? You said you knew Jeremy, what was that about?"

 

Ben was now frantically taking notes on a notepad. Katie knew, that know he knew, quite a bit about things. Oh well, she'd deal with that later. Ben was good about secrets and could be a good real world alie.

Katie blinked, by his logic, Albert Einstein knew Jeremy, but whatever. "Okay then, do you need somewhere to stay? I don't think a kid alone in France is exactly legal. How old are you? Isn't this Jeremy an old man? Where did you go to school anyway? Did you go here? Wheres your mom in all this, you can't be more than 16 can you?" she blushed, this might be to much for the strange kid.

It took Rush a minute to look up and notice Whisper was there, but as soon as he saw her he dropped his weights- making a loud noise and irritating everyone in the room- and walked over to her. "Hi! I saw your messages, and I wanted to come help, but I really wasn't sure what I could really do, or what the right course of action was anyway. Fighting in Lyoko is one thing, but I think I probably would have just made more trouble if I'd been there with you. Still, I'm sorry for not coming to help. I'm still trying to learn better how to fully control myself so that I won't just be a burden when this stuff goes down."

Whisper jumped at the sound of the weights and smiled at him. She watched him speak patiently and when he was done, threw her arms around his neck and hugged him. "Ewwww...don't worry, anyway you're all sweaty! You'd do no good saving the world like that." Whisper giggled.

Whisper brushed back a bit of his blonde hair and then without warning; kissed Rush. He hadn't made the first move and that had worried her, but with Codely running around and weird substances floating around, Whisper had bigger things to worry about. She pulled away and got embarrassed; staring down at her feet.

Katie gave a wry smile, not really wanting to deal with this. "Fine then, I'll just stick to what I know. You are a boy, you call yourself Shadow, and you know about Lyoko. Great, good to know. I ask that you stay away from things a bit if you don't mind. Codely seems to have taken an interest to you, and by extent XANA. That's not good. We're dealing with it now. If you want to hang around that's fine, but considering your past, I don't want you getting hurt until you and us, have a better grasp on what's going on. OK?"

 

She sighed, "Ben, I'm going, I need some air. You guys can follow if you want.

 

Ben was jotting down more things on the notepad, "K, I'll be there in a sec."

 

Katie left the room and found Angelinx on her walk, "mind if I walk with you?" she asked exasperated, "I don't even know whats real anymore. @,

"I don't mind at all." Angelinx sounded overly-happy. She continued to rub her arm up and down, not really caring if anyone saw the electrical shocks she was making. At the frequency of which they were appearing, one could tell how agitated she still was. She looked at Katie and then looked back at the ground.

Katie smiled, than noticed the way Angelinx was rubbing her arm, "You OK?" Katie asked gently placing her hand over the top of the others girls, she had it so the sparks wouldn't touch her, "You seem really upset. What exactly is bugging you?" Maybe it was a dumb question to ask, right now everything was kinda wrong, any number of things could be bugging Minx, but Katie was curious nonetheless. @,

 

"So," Ben asked Shadow, looking up from his notes, "Tell me, your expert opinion, should I dig any further on this? I feel like if I asked Katie she would tell me, but honestly, I'm freaked out."  @,

"HA! Upset? I'm not upset at all. I'm just feel weird, that's all." Angelinx said, being in complete denial. She made on of the electric shocks she was making travel across her body to Katie's hand. "And nothing is bugging me. Really?" Angelinx sounded slightly unhinged.
