If Celestia and Luna were evil, would Nightmare Moon still have existed?

If you don't know by now, the FIM comics are focusing on a parallel universe where Celestia and Luna are evil, so would Nightmare Moon still have tried to take over Luna's mind?

Of course.  The nightmare "spirit" as I like to refer it to, would most likely control Luna, making her Nightmare Moon, and Princess Celestia as Solar Flare.   TBH, if Celestia does in fact have a dark/nightmare form, i hope they name her that,

Alternatively, Luna briefly wavers from the path of evil, in an ironic echo of the tale of Nightmare Moon, and Tyrant Celestia banishes her until the 'good' wears off.

Yeah. Nightmare Moon is basically the evil alter-ego of Luna, so if Luna was evil then Nightmare Moon would still exist.

Nightmare Moon is Luna's alter ego that exists out of jealousy of Celestia along with the need of the ponies to love and worship her. A parallel Luna wouldn't give two shakes of a flank about winning over the love and worship of the ponies. She would have the power to just demand it and it is so. Luna might be more fearful of crossing her older sister than jealousy, if the world is ruled by the strongest.
