Vexx3 1,540 March 10, 2012 Share March 10, 2012 (edited) Well, I was inspired at work today by the generosity of a customer. I work at a full service gas station and it was fairly cold today. Being on top of a hill, it's also perpetually windy. Saturdays are also the days when I have an 11 hour shift. I had pumped this lady's gas and was having her sign her credit card receipt when she asked me what time I'd be working 'til. I told her 8, to which she asked what I do for dinner after I get out of work. I told her I usually just stop somewhere quick and grab something cheap. She told me they (she had her son in the car as well) were going to the pizza shop next door and offered to bring some pizza back. Since I hadn't eaten anything at all today, I graciously accepted and offered money, but she wouldn't take my money. This put me in incredibly high spirits, as this is probably the nicest thing a customer has ever done. I was expecting a few slices from whatever was left of the pizza they were eating. I DIDN'T expect to get a WHOLE FREAKING PIZZA. I feel guilty for not throwing money into her car before she could take off. This is the happiest I remember being at this job, as most of the customers are pretty thankless. This made me curious on what kind of acts-of-kindness you guys have experienced; whether you were giving or receiving or even just observing. tejntanga 42 March 11, 2012 Share March 11, 2012 I like to do the little things... at the store parking lot, offering to help load that lady's gazillion bags into her van - holding the door for someone with their hands full - slowing down so the guy can turn into your lane in traffic. I think the biggest one I've experienced was someone calling my house asking if someone had lost a wristwatch. It was mine, one of those Casio calculator/personal organizer contraptions from the 90's - it had cost a bundle and one of the saved numbers was "Home". My dad drove me to meet this good Samaritan who had found the watch at a bus stop where it had dropped out my pocket. I was so embarrassed and thankful! 1 Love and Tolerance for everyone! Especially the ones I don't agree with.

--- 41 March 11, 2012 Share March 11, 2012 The other day, a really sweet co-worker was having a very bad day, and was obviously very stressed out. I casually asked her what sounded good for lunch, because "I just couldn't decide." She said sushi sounded good, and gave me advice on what was the best sushi. I suggested a jumbo filled red velvet cupcake and she agreed that sounded amazing. I had my break before hers, so I got the sushi she suggested. They were out of the cupcakes, but I got a really awesome looking cookies and cream parfait. And left it in the break room for her.

Anyways he works with me at a chinese take out place, and there's no AC and working with woks and deep fryers omg. Anyways somebody came in and got him a slushie from the convience store.
ZomBrony 347 March 11, 2012 Share March 11, 2012 I'm in highschool and you all know teenagers so the only kind things that have happened to me at school is having someone hold open a door or saying "Hi" to me in the halls and stuff like that. I do act kindly but they aren't exactly random, I always hold open doors for people, and every day in P1 I will take down every chair in my row and every day in last period I always help put chairs up
Pony Joe 583 March 11, 2012 Share March 11, 2012 (edited) My random acts of generosity have a bad habit of failing, sadly. A couple weeks ago I bought a handful of Arby's sandwiches to give to any homeless people I could find. I never found any homeless people and had to eat them myself. Before that, I ran a small contest on a forum dedicated to iOS games, and gave the winner a game. They didn't accept, so I offered it to the runner up. They didn't accept it either. It was one of my most frustrating experiences on a forum, ever. Speaking of generosity. https://store.steamp...arx%40gmail.com World of Goo, anyone? This is a great game. Someone who doesn't have it yet should really accept this. Edited March 11, 2012 by Pony Joe That's really all there is to say on the matter. TOMahwk 351 March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 I had a poster I needed to complete in my English class freshman year, and so I took it to the school library the day before it was due to complete it. I ended up falling asleep at the table with very little progress made, and when I woke up the project was completed exactly how the instructions said to make it and there was a note on the table that said "Sweet Dreams ". I still don't know to this day who did it for me... A coworker was telling her friend at the hostess stand that she needed to get a book for her English class. On break I walked down the street to the bookstore and bought it for her. Put a ribbon on it and left it underneath her coat, right before she went off her shift. 1 "In the end it all comes down to just how far we can slide" V Check out my Artwork at V http://tomahwk94.deviantart.com/
Sandwhisper 33 March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 I once went to a sandwich shop around fifteen minutes till their closing. I ordered a meatball sub, as I usually do. The guy told me, however, they were done with meatballs for the night and hadn't made anymore to make the sandwich. I accepted that and stepped back to redecide my order as my family ordered. When I stepped back up, I gave him my other order, a ham and cheese. "Do you really want a meatballs sub?" "Huh?" "I'll make you a meatball sub." "W-what? No, that's okay!" "I'm making you a meatball sub." "What? Sir, it's okay!" "Too late. Makin you a meatball sub." And I walked out with a meatball sub. Put a smile on my face, it did. :3 just that little act made my day.
