Uh huh, yeah, let's shoot down genuine discussion because of the presence of Opinions, which apparently is the same thing as a witchhunt even though everyone is being respectful and merely discussing an artist's art, as if art isn't meant to be discussed. It's not like you've been complaining about low engagement and need the burst of discussion. Didn't realise I joined the Shooting Ourselves In The Foot club, my bad. Some people are so sensitive about normal fucking opinions being stated as if that's threatening.

My FiMfiction account favourites are like a time capsule from the fandom in 2013 and I don't think I could bring myself to read new pony fanfics. It was a different time.

I managed to get these speakers for the Pi 5 setup. It's not expensive, and it won't shake the walls or anything like that but it will look great with the setup. The colours on the LEDs are customizable as well, their colours can be changed on an RGB spectrum. Can be switched off as well, good because I don't want these things shining while I am trying to sleep.

When ponyfying my computer desk, rainbow themed LEDs would work wonders.

Everyone's got their preferences for fan fiction, if it entertains you, who cares? people forget that entertainment is supposed to be fun, and it is not meant to fit into elitist assumptions of who did better. Sometimes in my opinion, though some will disagree with me on this one, what is original sucks anyway, I mean there is a reason why My Little Pony official show Friendship is Magic did better than G1. Earlier iterations of the brand was merely a toy advertisement, and still is in some sense. But from what I've seen G4 actually managed to capture the interest of more fans this time around, with better designed characters and world building.

I think I agree with this. There was an excellent fanfic I read once many years ago which had a sequel - except the sequel was written after Twilight became an alicorn and was written into the sequel as well, it didn't fit the vibe just like the show didn't and her character never suited the role. I never ended up finishing it which is a huge disappointment. Don't think I've tried to read another since.

I cannot say I'm an avid reader of fimfiction, and I did not publish anything on there so far and probably never will.

There are some fan fictions I have been made aware of that made Mane Six behave in a way that is totally inconsistent with the way they are in the official show though. I don't even do this in my fan fiction, one person has told me they like how I depicted Rarity in my fan fiction for that reason.

If people are going to write a grimdark story, why not do it for the villains like Tirek or Queen Chrysalis? Chrysalis is typically shown sadistic enough to be in a creepypasta story, I have talked with Snoopy Fan about how disturbing Chrysalis is, the way she smirks and gets her kicks out of causing misery for others, almost as if she constantly fantasizes about ways to torture them. Her potential in the show was not explored but it appears they did a better job depicting that sadism in the comics.

It seems writers of the official show wanted their cake and eat it too, people involved in making the TV show would claim they don't want the story to be too violent for children, but then ended up killing off Mean Six anyway, what difference would it have made if Queen Chrysalis executed them with a magical blast? at least that way, it would have shown her to be more like a tyrant, and not some comic relief character. I've not seen all of season 8, only some episodes from it, but it does seem like there was a drastic downgrade in quality compared to the earlier seasons of the show, since villains then were not even as dark as Disney villains, at least Scar in Lion King was capable of pulling off a successful murder.

So the noise terrorists the other morning almost became literal terrorists by almost blowing up the neighbourhood with a gas leak, I knew they were trouble.

I don't often read fanfiction, if at all. I don't always trust the some of the other fans to.....stay on the rails as it were (not make it too NSFW, or enough NSFW, or support iffy ideas an concepts, or make a story completely devoid of any similarities to the piece of media that their trying to copy). Plus, I don't always know if I'd find any stories of my interests (zombie horror, and/or military action, and/or survival horror, and/or dark/dry humour, etc). I often find my tastes seem to be....pretty niche for cartoons.

I like fimfiction. I haven’t written any stories in a while, but my next story will be a compilation of random short stories. Also I’m still annoyed about the fact that fimfiction hasn’t done anything about the creep that sent me a message.
