Why is he called Donkey Kong when he’s not a donkey?

Also, why are they called Super Mario Bros.? Is that the name of their plumbing company?

I've always wondered that myself. The first Donkey Kong game I played was Donkey Kong 3 NES version, I've got copies of the official releases but only digital. I never had an original NES console. Still it's good that we can play this when subscribed to Nintendo Switch online, I can play this game anytime I want without that as I also have a VC version on Wii.

Should I put aside my own interests if they conflict with the collective interests?

East Asian cultures believe that individuals should make sacrifices for their families, clans, or countries.

But philosophers such as John Locke and John Stuart Mill argued that, unless an individual's actions directly harm the rights of others, their personal interests and freedoms should not be sacrificed for the collective.

Like everything I guess it depends on the context. I personally think everyone should be allowed to pursue whatever interests they want long as said interests aren’t harmful to anything or anyone. I do think there’s some wiggle room for interpretation there, like I don’t think someone should choose to play video games over say, going to a family event or hanging out with friends just because you might enjoy playing video games more than those two things. That would be harmful towards the people you’re avoiding as well as potentially harmful to yourself.

that said I also wouldn’t let tradition keep you from doing things you like, tradition is just peer pressure by another name, really.

As long as you're not causing any trouble for others, I think you should focus on your own well-being.

We have a tradition in my family: a few days before Christmas, we play a game of hide-and-seek, just for the kids in the family, but we call it "Egg Tart Party". The last person to be found gets a chance to receive a special gift from Santa and has to prepare him a snack.

One year, my cousin won. He slipped his wish list into the snack he prepared for Santa. On Christmas Day, his wish came true! I was immediately convinced that Santa Claus was real! After Christmas, I told all my classmates that Santa was real, and he could even grant my wishes—and only mine! All my classmates laughed and called me a weirdo, so I swore I would bring Santa to them to prove it.

Then, during another "Egg Tart Party," I was the last one found—I won! So, I put my own wish list into the snack I prepared, and it read: "Santa, you must come with me to school to make them believe me."

That night, I got up to use the restroom and saw my dad dressed up as Santa, eating the snack and preparing the gifts. I was instantly heartbroken—I realized I had been tricked, and I was going to be the laughingstock!

Now that I think about it, it’s actually pretty funny.:twilightsheepish:

Looks like my Eddy growing up to become a DJ fan theory holds up :rainbowdash-yolo: hopefully he stays off the drugs, though.

@Snoopy Fan @Antiyonder

Could "The Wishing Bear" from The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh count as a Christmas episode?

Pooh is trying to make his friend's wishes come true and the episode takes place in wintertime. Pinkie_Pie_Ooh_Xmas

You might be right about that, I’ll have to watch that episode either later tonight or tomorrow morning.

I'm thinking about how there are only four more days until Christmas thanks to my Best Friend, @ExplosionMare reminding me. :rarityhat:
