Add a FIM subforum area for the Comics & books

There is a  specific sub forum for Equestria Girls, because it's a big deal in the fandom and it is canon to the show.  But with the official comics getting more and more attention, as well as larger books coming out (like the Daring Do Adventure Collection, The Journal of the Two Sisters, as well as the newest PennyRoyal Academy), I believe this area of merchandise should have its own sub forum. The stories contained in the comics and books are considered canon, and for those who do not read the comics or have not yet read the latest issues, it would be wise to concentrate them all into one area so as not to spoil it for them. These products are more than merchandise due to the fact they contain canon stories and spoiler elements.

I think it's called sub forum, I am not sure if I am using the correct terminology, but I hope you understand what I am saying...

CD makes some good points in one of the posts he made:

If anything were to gain a subforum or something somewhere, the comics would probably be a decent candidate, but I'm afraid that the staff are very conservative with forum sections. The comics don't recieve nearly enough regularly posted topics to warrant them having their own section. As Sky pointed out above, the sole reason Twilicorn got her own section is because those topics were, quite literally drowning Show Discussion in a sea of drama and repeated debates. Equestria Girls was very much the same way, plus, being another animated pony entity published directly by Hasbro, had to have some kind of sectional presence, somewhere. I, too, think comic topics are fine in Sugarcube. They're not 100% canon, they're just as close as can be due to working with the show's writers to keep maximum continuity, so they belong in Sugarcube a lot more than Show Discussion. I have however, as the second topic link above suggested a while back, batted the idea around the tennis table about merging any relevant overall comic threads and pinning that, seeing as I do think the comics are a huge deal, and should be given some kind of attention. I might look around Sugarcube today and see how feasible that'd be. I know a pinned topic isn't the same as a section, but it'd probably be the closest we're going to realistically get.

Personally, I wouldn't mind it. I think it maybe could motivate people to actually start discussing them more. I don't know, I don't care.

If added, it should in my opinion be a subforum in sugarcube corner next to pony merch

That's what I was thinking @@Jokuc. It's not such a big thing to need it's own MAIN sub forum, alongside Equestria Girls...just some specific place for it insides the annals of this forum (like how the debate pit is inside General Discussion which is inside Everfree Forest).

I know the mods don't want to saturate the forum with sub forums and that's understandable. Being frugal is keeping things simple and practical for all users, but I feel the official comics and books should go somewhere specific because of it's canon nature, and thus has spoiler potential as well as there may be elements in the comics leaking into the actual show, and all that puts this subject in a different level from regular Merchandise but not as debated and talked about as EQG
