Scootalove 10,689 March 28, 2014 Share March 28, 2014 (edited) I don't think so, but we might not know for sure. They are pretty social, if you ask me. Edited March 28, 2014 by Scootalove Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Eloquence 2,076 March 28, 2014 Share March 28, 2014 While Aspergers/Autism can manifest itself in many different ways, from what I've seen it does not appear that Twilight or any of the mane six are this way. They all seem pretty typical socially, including Twilight despite her antisocial past and Fluttershy despite her shyness. If I had to pick a pony to headcannon as falling within the Autism spectrum, I think I would go with Big Macintosh, because he doesn't talk very much despite the fact that he hasn't exhibited behavior associated with typical shyness. He also isn't the head of the family farm, even though it would make sense for him to be seeing as he's the eldest sibling, but he is very good at what he does, and it is hinted in Pinkie Apple Pie that he is very smart. Actually, the more I think about this headcannon, the more I like it. I was never really content to write off Bic Mac's lack of lines as a gag anyways... Katana 298 March 28, 2014 Share March 28, 2014 Some parts of it definitely fit. She's initially resistant to being social, seems to understand books, science, and logic, better than people. Most of the lessons about social interactions she learns in a very deliberate, very focused way, rather than just having things like "white lies" come naturally to her social understanding. That seemed to completely change in the latest season though. I guess that as these characters develop, they have to slowly come closer to being perfect immortal infallible beings that are uninteresting to watch. Huh?...Hey...hey, go away, Superman. Chevette 1,052 March 28, 2014 Share March 28, 2014 I'm not exactly sure on why this is a question, I mean like... why would Twilight be in that situation? She's furthering her studies and advancing her intelligence in the magic of friendship... Not exactly unsociable especially since the show revolves around her making friends n' stuff... Okay, okay... Let's actually get started on this. Alright, if someone is automatically classified with a social disorder because they are more interested in being alone, that's not great. Everyone sails their own ship, (or they should be sailing their own ship) so I can't exactly say any form of autism is present within the show. Especially since the show is about Twilight making friends and discovering the magic of fuckin' friendship, I mean, she's just tryin' to learn, yo. That's really it, yo. I mean they are colorful cartoon pastel horses, they do what they want. 1 Chevette x Chevelle ~ OTP "Happiness is a quarter of a million Chevettes"
Paleopony 703 October 2, 2021 Share October 2, 2021 Twilight probably wasn't written to be autistic, but she has some of the traits associated with autism. Introversion doesn't mean someone is autistic, it's way more complicated than that.
