I Am A Brony (poetry)

I just got this idea to write an amateur poem expressing this disdain I have for a certain part of our demographic in remembrance of my last brush with betrayal. So yeah, this one is more about the fandom rather than the show. Anyway, without further ado.

 

 

 

 

 

I am a brony
A brony is me
When shame comes to brony
Shame then comes to me

And to bring pride to brony
Is to bring pride to me
But I am not me
For I am a brony

I put on appearances for all to see
The kind of brony everyone should be
A true brony is what people would say
To sacrifice authenticity, a small price to pay

Friendship is magic, the mantra to embark
Love and tolerance is how I'll make my mark
And bronies who defect have rightfully earned revile
Then confront me the same, which one is in denial?

In the end, forgo sincerity
For you see, it is no necessity
You are not you and I am not me
But we are bronies, so everyone must see

I am a true brony
A true brony is me
But I am not me
For I am a true brony
