If someone has a legitimate health issue which impairs the immune system, then I'm inclined to agree, however exposure to bacteria and viruses trains the immune system, making it stronger, and it is likely that a person doing the eraser challenge will have already been exposed to the local bacteria, which would make fighting them off easier. The eraser challenge won't cause serious injury. worst case scenario in a month or two all that will be left is a pale scar.

That's fine, you have a good point, but I still can't agree with you. I'm aware that exposure to bacteria builds up the immune system but inflicting self-injury for that and fun is overkill. I get why you would say that it is beneficial but afflicting pain upon yourself for such reasons is pointless. If you want to get your immune system built up, go outside. If you want to have fun, well, again - go outside. No need to burn a layer of skin off your arms.

At my old school, they did that.

I thought it was completely retarded.

But,nothing I could really stop.

One kid did it on all of his knuckles. (He said he was trying to make himself look like a declawed Wolverine.)

He was an asshole anyway,so I could care less if he hurt himself.

(Actually,a lot of kids at that school were assholes.)

I don't think Spider-Man has ever been so right. I'm sorry, but this is just stupid. Kids today literally do the dumbest things for literally no reason at all. So what? You have a huge line of broken skin going up your arm and it's the biggest? Wooptie-freakin'-do. Now you go home and live with the pain until you heal and do it again. It makes no sense why kids would do this, you would think they would have enough since than to make a game out of seriously hurting themselves.

I think we can all agree that Adorkable has won the thread. It's over, lads.

(edited)

If nothing else it should raise their threshold for pain. If they get infections or something over this then they'll either do it again and raise the threshold more or they'll NOT do it again and have learned a valuable lesson.

Either way it's pretty win-win, if you ask me.

Ah, the youthful drive to challenge oneself, simply because you can.
