planning The Dead Shall Rise

It has been several months since corpses started eating the living. The population of living humans have dropped rapidly, but there are small pockets out in the wilds. Surviving off what they can find. Some have formed small groups, others have gone on alone to face the dead. Developing various rules as time went on. Most have avoided big cities and rationing food. This story will take place in the north, Toronto, Canada specifically.

Weaknesses: Arachnophobia, can't use guns, can't run long distances

Oh, and is it alright if my character comes from Australia? I can come up with a backstory and how she got to Canada.

Rex has been waiting his whole life for action like a zombie apocalypse, so he's been prepared for a while. The Katana is from his dead friend and doesn't like using guns much considering their loud and it hurts his hands.
