Mobidly Obese Pony?

I just thought of something while at work zoning off. I do not recall ever seeing a Morbidly Obese Pony!

 

Is there one of them out there and why is there not at least 1 or 2 like Bulk Biceps? Bulk by I mean at least 1 of their body type! After all there is not a single other pony anything quite like Bulk and he adds a really awesome element to the show that casts contrast to the small or tall "skinny" ponies out there!

 

He could have a Fork as his cutie mark saying his special purpose is to consume lol.

 

What do you guys think? Morbidly obese pony or no?

 

His name could be Morbolee. "like morbidlee" and something else that sounds suspiciously like fat or obese.

i think that would be a pretty bad idea. as the show is supposed to be for kids too. and having a morbidly obese pony as an example for kids is just going to have them think it's a good thing to be morbidly obese.

 

tough i agree that it would be pretty funny to watch

No... no fat ponies, and hopefully there will never be any extremely fat ponies. Wrong ideas will be made, there are already fetishists out there who have a strange liking for impossibly obese fan art of such.

That might be territory Hasbro doesn't want to tread on. Obesity is a problem that's actually quite prevalent and serious in this day and age, and I don't think making it into a joke is a good idea.

Obesity is no joke, though. Some people genuinely suffer from obesity, and issues with their metabolism. It would be insensitive for the show's creators to poke fun at something that's so serious.

I'm not sure that would work. Imagine if you were morbidly obese, and you happened to stumble upon that episode. The mane 6 are trying to help a comically over-sized pony get less fat. As long as he remains overweight, he's never going to fit in with the other ponies. Until then, he's a social pariah who needs pity, and special help.

 

See what I mean? Even if the writers of the show had good intentions, the message still rings loud and clear. "It's not okay to be fat."

 

Maybe people who had become overweight through food addiction could take away inspiration from that episode to start working out and bettering themselves, but tough luck to the people who's bodies don't function like they should. For them, losing that much weight will never be a possibility. 

 

I'm not saying that joking about it should never happen anywhere in any type of media, but the writers of MLP in particular need to be careful about what messages they're sending in each episode.

Obesity is already a huge issue with today's children. Last thing you would want is for parents to think you are promoting obesity. And then if that doesn't happen, you will get the tumblr "fatisvists" screaming you are body shaming everytime the fat pony isn't a mary sue.
