Ariel had taken a bite out of her sandwich as Thunder was speaking, and she looked to him curiously when he brought up that there were a few things to discuss. All she could do was make a questioning sound, her mouth currently full of peanut butter and jelly, as she wondered what it might have been that he wanted to talk about.

"Well, first thing is school. I've decided that I'll be your teacher. But, on the day that I planned to have school and I'm not around, either Blitz, Rainbow or Storm would teach you that day. Don't worry, school will be only an hour out of your day. We'll do it nice and early so you'll have the rest of the day to play around." Thunder stated.

Ariel paused to consider his words as she swallowed her bite of peanut butter and jelly. She hadn't really considered the matter of schooling and education, but she could understand that it was a legitimate concern; after all, she knew that she should be learning at least the basic things. And as far as her family members being her teachers, well, she was surprisingly fine with that, indicated by her nodding of the head. In her mind, she was thinking of the alternative - the town school, where she would have to spend time every day around fillies and colts she didn't know... By far, Thunder's proposed idea was better to her.

"We will start next week, so all of us could gather what you need to learn." Thunder stated as he gathered some electricity and made a sandwich for himself appear from the blue. Meanwhile Blitz had turned on the television and was watching the news. The stocks had gone up a little.

Ariel nodded again in acknowledgement - and then was surprised as she watched Thunder materialize a sandwich from... electricity? She stared at him for a moment, before spreading her little wings and glancing back at them, recalling that they had appeared soon or immediately after she had felt a surge of electricity through her...

 

She turned to look at Thunder once more, tilting her head. "How... did you do that?" she asked, quite curious about his abilities now.

"I have the ability to wield electricity and convert it into magic. I've had it since I was a little foal. I would tell you the story but...it may scare you a bit..." Thunder stated as he took the first bite of his sandwich. "It's also how I gave you those pegasus wings." Thunder added.

Upon mention of it, Ariel looked back at her wings once more before looking to Thunder again. So he was responsible for the growth of her new wings! To be able to use electricity as magic was astounding to the young filly, but she did find herself quite curious as to how he obtained such an ability, even if he said that the story might be frightening. "Tell me!" she ended up blurting out in spite of herself, her curiosity overtaking her.

"Okay then...so...it was back when I was only a young one, just like you. I was up at flight camp, finishing up for the day. Rainbow here, decided to go free-flying beyond the camp, not knowing that a storm was brewing. Twenty whole minutes passed and there was no sign of her as the storm came. Most ponies fled to seek shelter. The Wonderbolts, the great elite flying team of Equestria, were deployed to search for her. They couldn't find her. That was when I decided to find her myself, although I doubted myself, which I still struggle with. Anyway, I went in that storm and boy, what a beautiful sight. Thunder clapping and lightning flashing everywhere, it was so majestic, especially flying through it. However, as I was flying through that storm...BOOM! I was struck by lightning!" Thunder stated. "But he didn't go down!" Rainbow chimed. "That's right Rainbow. I didn't. The lightning strike hit a spot where it was aborbed in my body. It completely changed my genetic code, enabling me to wield electricity. In the end, I was able to find and rescue my sister." Thunder stated.

Ariel listened to the story intently, fascinated. It was interesting to hear at first - but when he started to tell of the confrontation with the storm, she started to vividly imagine the images he described; which was something she couldn't help, her mind simply being that way. And the thought of such a vicious storm of lightning and thunder made her nervous, understandably so. She even jumped a little when he mentioned the sudden strike of lightning. But in spite of that, after he concluded his story, she gave a little smile and said - with a slight stutter - "Th-That's a cool story..."

"Yeah, it is. I was hoping that the struck by lightning thing wouldn't scare you." Thunder stated as he continued to eat his sandwich. "So...wanna go back outside and practice flying a little more are you eat?" Thunder asked Ariel. Blitz was still watching television, only this time, he was watching a super funny program filled with pony fails. Blitz suddenly burst out laughing.

The filly's ears flattened against her head when Thunder asked if she would like to practice flying some more. With thoughts of the lightning storm and being struck by lightning, she was suddenly hesitant to even think about flying - even if the weather was nice and clear outside. She averted her gaze, her ears perking up only because she heard Blitz.

"Don't worry Ariel, us pegasai can control clouds. Most clouds don't let out lightning anway, unless you kick them hard enough. When you kick a cloud, it either breaks up with a poof or rain pours out of it." Thunder explained. Blitz had started to snort while laughing.

Ariel nodded in acknowledgement, having already known that so some extent, having known of the weather team. But, as she glanced back at her own Pegasus wings - which she thought would make her at least part Pegasus in her own right - she started to wonder... "Could I... control clouds, too?" she asked as she looked at Thunder curiously.

"Yes. You can walk on them, lay on them, kick them, make them rain...why...even your emotions have an effect on clouds. If your sad and lay on a cloud, it will turn grey and rain will start pouring out of it until you're happy or neutral again." Thunder explained. Blitz had recovered from the laughing fit.

"Really?" As she processed what he had told her, she kept glancing back at her wings. Such delicate, feathery little things sprouting from her sides, capable of giving her the ability to influence weather... The thought was astounding to her. She looked at Thunder once more, smiling as she remarked, "That's neat! I didn't know Pegasi could do so much with clouds."

"Want to go try it out?" Thunder asked as he finished up his sandwich, and waited for Ariel to finish hers. Blitz then decided to go fly to the factory to check to see if he was on storm control duty for that day. He then returned. "Sweet. Another day off." He stated as he plopped himself back on the couch.

"Okay!" she said at once, seeming a little excited at the prospect of being able to play around with clouds; it sounded like fun! She quickly finished her sandwich soon after, eating faster than normal so she could finish sooner. Once she got up from the table, she fluttered her wings and hovered at about Thunder's eye level; already giving some more practice for her flying without really thinking about it. The filly then happily stated, "I'm ready!" As in, she was ready to fly out and play with some clouds.

"Wow! You're getting better!" Thunder stated as he headed out the door and waited for Ariel to come. "Don't strain yourself to stay up. You'll just get more tired and may even hurt yourself." Thunder warned as he went outside and searched for some clouds to plap with.

Ariel giggled, smiling a little at the compliment. She then nodded, acknowledging Thunder's warning as she flew outside after him, little wings fluttering and flapping. Once outside, she looked around, also looking around for clouds she could potentially play with. With each passing moment, she seemed more excited to just play and have fun.

Thunder found two loose clouds: one for him and one for Ariel. He then moved them down. "There you go. You now have your very own cloud!" Thunder said happily as he laid on his cloud and watched Ariel. He would then teach her how to manipulate the cloud, making it do stuff.

Ariel couldn't help but let out a happy giggle as she flew to her cloud and landed on it, soon after noticing that the material had some give to it. Out of curiosity, she jumped once; the give of the cloud felt almost bouncy. She then proceeded to jump up and down on the cloud, giggling from amusement. Naturally, this being the first time she really had a chance to play with clouds, she was going to play as well as she could and have as much fun as she could; maybe a little too much, though.

Rain poured from the cloud as Ariel jumped on it. Thunder drifted under the cloud. He got wet but shook himself off after he moved away from it. His mane was still dripping though. "Clouds are also used to teach young pegasai to fly." Thunder stated as he continued to watch Ariel.

Ariel paused, glancing at Thunder and then down at the cloud beneath her hooves, surprised to find the cloud pouring rain; though the rain soon ceased after she stopped jumping. Had the rain really been caused by her jumping just now, or had it been a coincidence? She seemed a little surprised as she looked at Thunder again, pointing her hoof at the cloud she was standing on as she asked, "Did... Did I do that?"

"Yep. You did. It happens anytime you jump on a cloud. But be careful. Don't jump on storm clouds. Lightning will flash out of it and sometimes, it might just backfire right on you." Thunder stated as he continued to watch Ariel play with the cloud

Ariel looked down at the cloud she was standing on again, and then started jumping up and down to make the cloud rain once more. Then she stopped after a few moments, watching as the rain also stopped. She giggled in delight, knowing that she was controlling the cloud, simply by jumping on it. Then she looked at Thunder as she asked curiously, "Can I make it do anything else?" Maybe she could make it snow or something, she thought; anything, as long as she stayed far away from storm clouds and lightning!
