Ok she's all done! I was gonna post it yesterday but scanning slowed me down. It doesn't look as smooth and nice as the paper drawing but it's as close as I can get it. I tried to make her look slightly frustrated/angry while trying to figure out how to put her bow tie on. I puffed out her chest a bit and added some extra arch to the back and a bit of a twist to the hips (It wasn't easy to do, lol), all to just help convey some slight discomfort/frustration to accompany her expression but I don't think it worked out so well, this stuff is tricky! Anyway, this was really great practice for me and my first Octavia drawing, thanks for the request! What do you think?

The detail and the fading are perfect, the proportions are correct and everything else just seems to fall into line, my original point of improvement or you was the shadow's but that was discarded when i say you're, "Rarity and boots" and "Twilight hurt" picture.

I would suggest you to anyone wanting a hand-drawn picture of great quality.

Man that's great, thanks! It's really reassuring to know I'm getting it right, it's so easy to mess up the proportions and anatomy of the ponies (as I've found out myself many times...) And yea, seriously, if anyone wants a drawing send them over, i'd be happy to make one for them.

Octavia Getting Dressed

The expression is very well done, kudos on that.

-the neck seems just a smidgen too short, though this is partly due to perspective

-her left hindleg looks a bit too long and slender

-maybe add some shading to the underside of her belly

 

Also, and this is a weird one, the curvature of the hovoves makes it look like she's standing on tip toes, maybe flatten it a bit (See your Twilight pic)

 

 

 

Derpy and Dr. Hooves

The poses a very well done, especially the Doctor's (ponies sitting down is tricky). Derpy's tail wrapping around the Doctor is a cute touch.

The expression though... I don't really get what you where going for with Derpy and I'm not sure what's going on with the Doctor's right eye either.

Apart from that there are nly minor grievances: Derpy's mane could have used some shading and the tip of her tail looks a bit like a snake tongue.

I just noticed how slim Ovtavia's back leg is, I want to fix it so bad now...As for the tip toes thing, that was actually intentional, for the back skinny leg at least. If you look at her back neck line and follow it to the spine which I kinda hinted at you'll notice that her hips and rear are kinda raised from her arched back as well as being slightly twisted. You can partially see part her left hip also as a result of the twist. I considered raising her back leg up off the ground entirely but I decided to just go with the tip toes thing because it would look awkward if she was standing on just one front leg and the opposite back leg I think, idk.I just did all this to help add to her frustration/discomfort toward the bow tie. I think her front leg could be more grounded though, now that I look back. Anyway you probably noticed all this. I guess I'm wrong and just made an awkward pose. If not I still messed up for not making the pose clear enough!  :okiedokielokie:

 

Edit: Actually you're right, I just looked at the paper drawing again, her hooves are awkward, I'm gonna go back and fix her up, it's bothering me alot.

 

As for derpy/hooves, the goal  was to have them having like a friendly picnic/just hanging out eating muffins, and derpy playfully rubs her tail on him as he's eating since she's trying to let him know she likes him or something. I think I messed up when I tried to give her a "seductive/shy/nervous" expression all at the same time,lol. I tried to make the dr appear to be happy but then be like "whats goin on here..." when he unexpectedly feels derpy's tail rub on him or something but I guess it didn't turn out! Dang, I thought this was gonna a be a good scene. I guess the expressions don't work. I'm probably just gonna let it be though, the expression aren't completely clear but I think they're ok enough to keep. Thanks for the spot on critique! Now, to fix Octavia's legs...

Lol it's ok I got all the help I needed here. I'm not posting any more finished requests here because I'm making a full dedicated request thread in the request forum in about a week or so. yea me too, I just made mine not too long ago. I'm really starting to like it though I should have made one a long time ago. Are you the artninjapony or something like that? I think your watching me, I left you a comment a day or two ago. btw I finished your drawing, but I can't scan it till later tonight, I've got some stuff to do. (btw you might want to check out the drawing I did for shuriken when it post it later tonight, you'll get an idea of what to expect when I'm done).
