Tempest walked up behind Lightning Bliss, and smiled. "I guess you could say that the recent history of Canterlot is written in these window." He said, shrugging slightly. "Anyway, my name is Tempest. I saw you earlier, but I didn't exactly have time to talk. I didn't quite get your name, either."

"I remember. Tap on the armor, cornering or disarming is a win." Golden said loudly for the few ponies that were in the courtyard to hear. She noticed them placing bets and she didn't mind it. It was a good past-time in the circle anyway. "Okay then. You;d better be ready." Golden said. She levitated her sword and swung at Cherry;s foreleg.

Cherry skillfully blocked and stepped back from the fight. She was caught up in the fighting now, treating it like a dance and countering every one of her opponents moves with a move of her own. She swayed gracefully atop the glittering courtyard that had become her dance floor, not letting a single hit land, but not trying to land one herself, well, not yet at least. @,

She leapt a bit at Tempest introduction, her cape was still on, and it leapt up with her in the same motion, then slowly she came down and turned.

 

Oh sorry, um... she blushed a bit at seeing the odd bat pony...she found herself staring, it being the first time she ever offically met one. Sorry, yes my name is Prin- oh... Just call me Lightning Bliss, or Blissy if you prefer... She tripped over her words a few times, feeling awkward and unprepared talking to an obvious strong and warrior like stallion, he did almost remind her of Polaris in a loyal way, and she focused on that to look him in the eye with respect.

 

Oh and yes, she smiled and turned back to the Cadence and Shining Armor window, this is probably my second time this year I've been to the castle, and I'm still not used to it. But when I come here, I like to walk down this hallway to look at the windows, it helps to remind me of why I am here, and who I am I guess. She turned to him then, hoping now she'd get some answers on why she was summoned here. She levitated the scroll Celestia and Luna sent her and showed it to him. Sorry that I'm being so random...but I've been waiting for somepony to tell me why I'm here...From what I gathered, by my several years experience, to what I've been hearing in rumors, it as something to do with King Sombra?

Golden Flames looked on as she witnessed Cherry make a dance out of the fight. Everypony in the courtyard was stunned. Shaking her head out of the trance, she lunged at Cherry and tried to tap her on the armor again. "Will you quit dancing and start fighting?" Golden asked, sounding slightly angry.

Cherry giggled, and in Golden Flames moment of annoyance she attacked an opening, landing a perfect, and unexpected tap on her Armor and dancing away, holding her sword half casually, half defensively at her side, "Cherry one, Flames zero." She smirked. "Would ya like to go again?

Golden was flabbergasted. She could hear the ponies snickering but didn't pay them any attention. "Wha? How? Nevermind. Of course I'm going again!" Golden said. She smiled half-heartedly and swung her sword at Cherry's underside, hoping to catch her off guard.

Cherry saw it coming, but only barely. She shifted her sword slightly so that the blade was deflected, but it came less than an inch away from hitting her. She jumped back and got in position, letting her body do the work as her eyes focused on the opposing sword. She switched up her style a bit to throw the other mare off, now wielding the sword like an extension of herself instead of a graceful dance partner. She still moved extremely graceful, but was now focused more on offence, blocking a blow and trying to land one of her own. @,

Wonder decided to head out to the Crystal Empire. Seeing as how it was evident that there was no real work to be done here, and the Crystal Empire was where Sombra was based, it was the next logical move. He made his way through the castle, in the Royal Halls he saw Lightning and Tempest. He trotted up and leaned against a nearby wall, making his presence evident, but politely lowing them to finish their conversation.

Golden parried Cherry's blows, now grinning as she got into the swing of things. "This is just like when I was training with the Royal Guards." Golden huffed and then swung the sword inside another of Cherry's to try and tap her on the armor again. "This is getting me no-where." She lit up her horn and a flash of bright light blinded everypony in the courtyard.

Tempest nodded slightly. "I believe I could help shine some light on this situation." He said. "Basically, Sombra is planning on making a comeback, and there's a good chance he won't just stop at the crystal empire in his quest for revenge. Then there's the question on why your here. I would imagine that you faced something like this before. Right?"

At that his question sparked a tear down her cheek...the horrific memory of King Sombra's shadow... a remaining of his dark magic, that possessed her friend...

 

Yes... It was years ago, she sniffed, it was a day after i ascended in fact... The shadow of King Sombra... it was a remaining piece of dark magic he must have had hidden, in an abadon cave me and our friends stayed at during a trip to the north. We got stuck in a blizzard and had to take shelter in that cave...where it was lurking. We thought we had escaped it...but it seemed to had lodged itself into my friend Skylar...waiting for its moment to strike.

 

It did so after we were viciously attacked by a rogue dragon... Skylar had thought his mare had been killed...his anger and thirst for revenge was the spurce the shadow needed to take over his body and possess him... Had the remience of the King remained his body...he might have returned to his former glory... But with the help of our friends and my alicorn magic used as a channel, we banished the shadow form him and supposedly destroyed it... I thought after that...offically Sombra was gone forever...

 

She lowered her head then, another tear dripped to the floor and she began to shiver...So that's why I'm here...because Celestia thinks that my alicorn magic for peace and unity might be useful to this...this...King Sombra...who has really...She looked up to Tempest then, he really has returned???

She then peeked over his shoulder, spotting Wonder who was watching over them. Is it really true? She called to him, is he really back...?

"Yeah. It is true." He shook his head lightly." In fact, that's why I'm here. I can't seem to find the Princesses, so I came to ask if either of you could tell them that I'm heading to the Crystal Empire." He said standing up straight. "There's nothing here so I'm going to head to the obvious starting point of all of this."

Sole absorbed the beam himself, gritting his teeth as he did "I don't work for that old fool, He's merely a stepping stone to make me more powerful. As was Toby, stone, sky, my old man... They're all nothing more then a step in the ladder to more power." He said, before disappearing and reappearing behind thunder. "This power." He finished, before punching downward toward thunder, making a large crater in the ground beneath them from the impact.

Thunder laid in the crater, before getting up slowly and opening his wings. Instead on his wings being a gray color like his fur, it was a straight black. His wings were longer, more textured, and a lot more feathers that seemed to be tattered in a way, he jumped back, and faced the griffon. "....then it looks like ill have to close the deal with you. You see, I've been busy lately, I have gotten involved with someone no creature wishes to deal with, and that's death itself." He said, his skin started to take on the same color, now becoming more and more textured, almost as if it was rotting in a way. "See, the cool thing about death is it comes to us when we are about to cross over, giving us the kiss to leave this dreaded earth. To me and you, death would appear as a lady, beuatiful in a way, comforting as well. Vice versa for mares and female griffons I guess...." He said, his hair began to turn white and his began to take on a silver color. "And the kiss gives us a final, and peaceful way to leave. But that won't happen for you, I'm going to make your death painful and slow, you earned it when you joined sombra, when you betrayed stone." He began, putting a hoof to the ground. The crystal floor under it began to turn to dust. "And as a defender, and a servant to death. I shall do what death wants, and that's end your dark ways" he said charging in hitting sole in the chin, making the skin on sole burn from thunder's decay when his hoof connected.

Tempest glanced at Wonder, and nodded. "Count me in." He said. "I'll leave a note for Tia and Luna before we leave to inform them of our plan."

 

Sombra smirked as he saw Cherry and Golden fight. "We'll be leaving soon, but that doesn't mean they cant entertain the others." He thought to himself. There had actually been a change of plans among his followers, and he didn't seem to mind.

Cherry blinked as the light went off and took the obvious trick to slide out of the way, she ran, grabbing traction before letting herself slide on the crystal floor. She ended up sitting nearly at the end of the arena, and blinked the spots out of her eyes as she stood, holding the sword tighter and simply waiting in a defensive position. Watching her opponent across the field. "Nice try Flames." She said, slightly flustered. Golden Flames was not your common Everfree thug, she was trained, magical, and not afraid to use tricks. And Cherry loved it. @,

As the decaying attack hit him he went flying through the roof like a rocket, before quickly catching himself and righting in mid air. As he flew above the castle he glared at thunder "you can tell that little bitch 'Death' that I'm not going anywhere, and she can keep her slutty kiss." He said, as hid body began to glow. After a moment a bright light exploded from him, as it cleared sole could be seen with electric like energy zipping around him and an aura of power emanating from him. "Not even death can touch me now. With this power, I can do anything." He said, before creating a giant ball of energy, much bigger then any before "and now I'm gonna use this power to eradicate this entire castle, and you along with it!" He threatened, before throwing the menacing ball of death toward the castle.

When Golden's light went off, she heard footsteps and chased after Cherry. She heard Cherry and opened her eyes in time to stop herself from being impaled on Cherry's sword. "I'm used to my own tricks Blossom." Golden sneered. She brought her sword up and clanged it against Cherry's. "You still don't know what I'm capable of." Golden said, leaning in close and smiling.

Cherry had the nerve to giggle, she had her balance now and had her dance back in full swing, now blocking move after move instead of going for an offence. "You. Know." She said between sword clings, "The next time. You need somepony to dance with." She pulled a jump, flipping into the air and landing behind the mare, there she saw a brilliant opening, but didn't want to take the victory twice in a row, especially on a cheap back shot, "just call me." she finished, dangerously whispering the words in the mares ear. @,

Golden's ear twitched when Cherry whispered into her ear. "Don't worry." She lit up her horn. "I will. It's been fun but." Her horn glowed even more brightly as she fed more magical power into it. "I think it's about time we stopped!" She shouted out the last part and unleashed her charged up spell. Golden flames went all around the courtyard, disintegrating any non-living thing to dust in it's radius. Golden's armor and sword disintegrated and Cherry's armor and sword disintegrated as well.

Cherry smiled and flipped around to face Golden, "Well," she said, "basic rules do say disarming equals a victory, so congratulations." she bowed, "I accept defeat at the hooves of a worthy opponent." Than she looked up, still bowing, but with a clever glint in her eyes. She slyly whispered her next words, "But tell me, you were disarmed as well were you not?" She stood, "And because you were closest, you were disarmed before me, correct?" Cherry cocked her head like a curious puppy. "Does this mean I technically win?" @,

Golden Flames looked down at herself. Then at Cherry. "I was disarmed first so yeah. Technically you do win. But since we were so close to each other, our armor and weapons disintegrated at practically the same time. So I'd call this a draw." Golden said with a smile. And she bowed. She charged another spell and this time, silver flames spurted out and their armor and weapons were restored. Golden cocked her head to the side as well. "I'm curious about your fighting style though. You dance around a lot. Why?"

Thunder looked up to see the huge ball of energy make its way down. He had to think fast in order to stop it from destroying everything in its path. He decided to use something he feared he would not to. His hoof was aimed to the sky, directed at the huge ball of energy. Then a dark energy blasted out, and took form of a skull, eating the ball of energy, and continuing its path to sole. Crashing into him, exploding with both the energy from the ball itself. And the energy that thunder thrown in it, creating a huge shockwave. Knocking anyone in radius, onto their knees.

"W-wait please," she reached a hoof to them as they started to walk to their planned destinations, "if... If I'm here as well to help stop this evil, then... " she gulped a bit, but summoned her father, Fire Strength's courage she knew she had hidden down deep, "Then I'm coming with you," She stomped her hoof down, its golden extieror making a small crack in the marble flooring. "The magic of Peace runs within me somewhere... I may not be able to control it, but I know that when the time comes... it reacts out of instinct. Maybe you both will have some use for it if I come along...Besides," she trotted up, side by side the two stallions, "it's about time I defended that peace...not cower from it... Fighting may be my opposite, but if you two are willing to fight for it, against these odds... then so can I. Let's go!"

 

She galloped ahead of them, getting a little too far ahead of herself, then skidded to a stop just as she reached the doors and turned back to see them.

 

"Um... How do we get there?" She asked innocently.
