gaming Project CARS- to be the Best Upcoming Racer of 2014 or Biggest Letdown of 2014?

I've been following the development of Project CARS (Community Assisted Racing Simulator) ever since it first was announced to the public, and overall, I was impressed with it. Developed by Slightly Mad Studios (devs of Shift 2: Unleashed), this game looks like a throwback to the good old TOCA Race Driver games, with all sorts of disciplines and events. As incredible as this game looks, Shift 2: Unleashed had a lot of issues, some claiming they fixed a lot of these problems. The cynic in me is saying that it's just gonna be another pretty racing game that will let everyone down like GRID 2 did. What do you guys thing? Will this be one of the best racers of the decade, or will it just crash and burn?

Looks great. Played a ton of GTR back in the day with a wheel. Nice to see another realistic driving sim but I feel like those are going the way of the flight sim, unfortunately.
