Are Superman and Darkseid weak, in the grand scheme of the comic universe?

I was thinking about Superman and Darkseid just recently and how Superman can barely beat him on his own. Are there any characters in DC or Marvel, that put the mainline heroes/heroines to absolute shame. How can you measure the powers of "The Presence" in comparison to supes?

The Spectre is one I know that would pimp slap both of them together. Both Superman and Darkseid are considered to be around mid tier in DC comics normally. There are many cosmic beings in DC that would wreck both of them in a fight.

They are absolute pussies. Galactus, TOAA, Lucifer, Emperor Joker, Mr Myxapik, Beyonder, Eternity, Galacta, Odin, and Molecule Man, to name a few, would absolutely destroy them.

Counting other verses, Asura, Sailor Moon, STTGL, and Mantorok, again, to name a few, would destroy them

@@Scootalove,

Plenty of mages have the potential to beat Superman, the problem is doing it before he blitzes you

I don't read the comics but I have seen the animated show The Justice League and The Justice League Unlimited, pardon if I don't know the characters names as its been awhile. The one guy who pretty much wrecked everyone was the one robot powered by nanotechnology that could easily adapt to anything, in the end however he joined Dr. Fate in order to find the purpose to his existence. I still don't remember the robots name though, sorry.

Aquaman took down the entire Justice League on his own one time

Superman is so bizarre. First off correct me if I'm wrong. But was Superman once the OG in the 70s and 80s? Superman had literally every conceivable power under the sun.He was WAAAAAY to overpowered. So how can we compare god superman to all these higher dimensional characters? Superman is getting weaker year by year.

Yes, he is fusing galaxies together to make a universe busting blast

OG? Original God? To my knowledge, no. But yeah, back in the day(Pre-Crisis) Superman made up powers on the spot. In Post Crisis, he is far better written

I don't think Gurran Laggen is that OP. Because space is infinite more than likely.

True overpowered material right there. :o

It gets better, that's his suppressed stage. At full power, he collapses the universe and then recreates it..by accident.(he was punching someone else and the aftershock did that)

Gurren Laggan verse has them using galaxies as frisbees, tanking universe busting blasts hundreds of times over to the face, and then crushing their dimension and recreating it

That is a great feat to have

I stopped watching it in 2008. My friends sort of ruined most anime for me. This idea is original, but in-genius to the point where I'm surprised no one did it a long time ago. I still think a God/Goddess with the just the essential three 0s is beyond human comprehension and imagination.

@@TheMarkz0ne,

That would be the Ancients of Eternal Darkness. They are so large, they span several dimensions. The most powerful, Mantorok, was able to fuse three time streams together so that his enemies were gone(the fused timelines were ones where his enemies died)

Are the higher cosmic entities evil in DC or Marvel? Like is all of creation, just their toy chest?

I'd say both are VERY powerful in the grand scheme of the DC universe. Sure some otherworldly beings can alter reality with a thought, but Superman and others have bested them before.

The way I see it, raw power, does not determine upward capability. Superman has a suite of powers that, when used in the right combination and in smart ways, he can do almost anything.

@@TheMarkz0ne,

IDK, but the Ancients of Eternal Darkness are pretty evil. Ulyaoth wants to take all life in the multiverse and torture it to make a scale for pain, Xel'lotath just wants to drive everyone insane, and Chattur'gha just wants to kill everything.

Mantoroko may or may not be good, he's kind of ambigous. He does save humanity, but it's only so that his rivals are killed off.

Worth nothing, humans can't look at the Ancients without losing their mind
