"Hmm..." Nights thought about his idea, then immediatly picked up speed, "I like your idea, but forgive me if I tweak it just a bit." Suddenly with little warning to the height fearing wolf, Nights did a rapid dive down then immiedatly pulled up, flinging Seth off his back and directly at the head changling who was carrying Bliss. The throw off was accurate, Seth was perfectly aimed, forcing him to crash on to the Changling still holding Bliss.

 

Mean while as Seth was struggling with what just happened followed by trying to grab Bliss, Nights zipped closer, grabbing the other changling by its hooves. "Surprise you son of a," he kept the pest in his mouth for several moments before flinging him down with break necking speeds to the ground, spitting a fireball at the marenapper as a percaution. Then he focused his attention to Seth and Bliss, struggling with the changling.

As night was dealing with the warriors overhead, Seth collided with the lead changeling. Not expecting the sudden blow, the three bodies were thrown across the sky. The wolf was the first to recover, holding out his limbs as to gain friction. Below him, he saw Bliss and the changeling descending more rapidly. The fear for Bliss's life overpowered that of falling. With a quick breath for reassurance, he arced his body downward towards the wight body. Problem was, there were to weight bodies. When he came to the two, they were both identical Blisses. Knowing his time was short, he had to think. What was important about the real lightning Bliss. Then, he remembered. He brushed back her main and found a scar where he had bit her as a werewolf. With a smirk, Seth turned to the fake Bliss and slashed at the body with his claws. "No one fools Seth in the long run!"

She groggily woked up, feeling weak but nausious, thinking she was in a light lifting bed...Then she saw the sky above her, along with what looked like another one of herself, that was fighting with Seth. "Seth...? What is...?" Suddenly she realized it, she was being mare napped by changelings, they were up in the air. "Oh Luna...AHHHHH!!" She panicked in toe and with little control, teleported all three of them back to Night Lights without thinking.

 

Nights felt three new beings on his back as he continued to fight off my changelings that were coming. He spotted what looked to be two of his wives, with Seth fighting one of them. "I'm not even going to ask... BLISSY!" Nights roared out, knowing the more weaker alicorn was his wife. She crawled out onto his neck and hugged him, crying into his mane while Seth continued to bare down on the fake blissy.

The combatant only stopped fighting for a second as they were teleported onto the dragon's back. Looking around at the new arena of battle, Seth glared at the now bleeding Bliss. The disguise was fading slightly, but it held up. He had a few cuts, but nothing worthy of being called a war hero. Loosening his grip on one of the dragons spines, he slid down his back to reach the changeling. When he was at his it's level, the wolf grabbed one spine and used his gain momentum to buck the changeling with his hind legs.

 

"You have caused too much harm to be able to live! You will die!" He yelled.

The changeling hissed out as Seth attempted to kick him off the moving dragon, and quickly with all the effort he could, dodged the wolf's hind legs and managed to leap over him. Once there, he grinned, transforming to his true self. "I will not fail! Queen Chrysalis...will RULE EQUESTRIA at the death of the Princess!" He laughed out, giving another defiant hiss before turning his way to climb up the neck of Night Lights, and grabbed hold of Bliss's back leg.

 

"Gah!" She shrieked out at the black pony, riddled with its own cuts of blood, "let go of me! GET OFF!" She kicked the leg that was firmly clasped by the napper, while using her other leg to kick at his head.

 

"LET GO OF MY WIFE YOU SON OF A-" Nights roared out but could do no more then fly back to the direction of the castle, if he rised trying to reach out or transform to aid Seth or Bliss, they could fall at any given time.

Seth, unsuccessful at the hit, was flung back down Night's back. Clinging for deer life, he scraped against the dragons scales until he had traction. Pulling himself back up, he fallowed the changeling. The wolf managed to get to the changeling without him noticing. With it dodging the light attack from bliss, the bug was more than distracted. With one last desperate chance to get rid of the pest, Seth lunged onto the changelings back. Sinking his claws into the wings and back of the bug, the changeling sneaked out, letting go of Lightning Bliss. The bug stumbled back, Seth still on him, until they both fell off Night.

 

"Shitttt!!!" Seth yelled as the two began their heavy decent for the ground.

 

"Fool! With my wings tattered, you unable to fly, we will both die!" The bug shouted, also seeming afraid of the inevitable outcome.

 

"Maybe the outcome is worth the sacrifice!" Seth yelled back, looking to the ground. With a stern face, he ran through his mind as the ground spread towards him. This was his end.

She didn't think...only adrillien...the fear of losing him...she couldn't bare. Before Night Lights could stop her Bliss leapt off his back, flapping her wings firmly into a dive, racing to beat Seth to the ground... But he was going too fast and she was still to high up...She had to try...even in her weaken condition.

 

"I...Will...NOT... LET YOU DIE!!! SEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" Suddenly she broke through the sound barrier, and shot forth from a sonic rainboom, using her magic to just barely reach Seth from smacking to the ground, just seconds after the changling met the ground. She levitated him up with break neck speeds, flinging them both back into the sky with a rainbow trailing behind them.

With clenched eyes, Seth waited for his fate. What met him was either slightly more painful or too painful than he expected. He felt air rush past his head as he felt a grip around his body. Opening his eyes, he found himself looking face to face with Lightning Bliss. Behind her was a trail of rainbow.

 

"Hey Bliss... if you are my angle, that could explain a few things..." He said softly, looking back to the mare. The wolf wasn't fully sure if he was dead or the luckiest wolf alive.

She smiled down on him as she made their way back to Night's back who was hoving above them patiently, a look of huge relief on his long beak. She lifted Seth just high enough in mid flight to hug his head and nuzzle his furry face. "I'm never ever letting you die on me like this!" She cried out as they landed on the dragon's back. "Night Lights?"

 

"Yes my Princess..." he smiled to her, a tear running down his cheek.

 

"Lets get back to Canterlot...and fix this damage that has happened to Equestria..." She pulled Seth up on her lap and hold on to him firmly with one hoof, while holding on to Nights' mane with the other.

 

"You don't have to tell me twice. Hold on you two," he then slowly took off back to the castle, flying slower then usual as not to make the ride too rough for them.

AS the wolf was placed on the dragon's back, Seth sighed in relief as for once in the past hour he was getting a break from death. Looking from Lightning Bliss to Night Light, he gave them both a tired smile. From diplomatics to killing each other to saving each other, Seth was glad to be finished with it all. Well, there was still diplomatics, but that could wait an hour or two when they arrive. Plus, Shining Armor and Cadence could supply relief effort.

 

"Well guys... I officially resign my attempt to become Bliss's mate, lover, or any other form of emotional bondage that goes beyond that of a loyal friend. However, as acting prince of Equestria, I do order that Princess Bliss be relived of her post for medical care and rest under the watchful eye of her guardian who happens to be her husband. Night, I order you never to leave her side unless it strictly necessary." He decreed with a smile. "You guys need the time together, and I am used to the papers. Plus, once Shining gets here, I will get a bit of a break."

Nights growled and gave a joyful roar before answering Prince Seth, "I shall follow your orders my lord," Nights grinned happily as Bliss nodded with a hint of hesitation, knowing she didn't like the idea of leaving Seth with all the work to be done, but new she'd be useless in her current state.

 

Instead she wrapped her hooves around Seth's neck gratefully, snuggling into his soft fur.

 

"You may not ever be my lover, or Prince, but you are my brother," she hugged him tightly as she spoke with a sincere and caring voice, "I'm grateful that you care enough for me and my Nights... You may not like it, but you make a great Prince Seth."

Seth gave a returning hug, smiling at the mare. He was overjoyed that everything had worked out so well. "If I am to be you brother, all I ask is if I'm invited to a family reunion, I don't supply a food dish. I doubt any of your family would like fried fish." He said with a laugh. Breaking for. He hug, he looked over to the approaching castle. At least five pegasi guards were departing from the castle to escort their safe return.

 

Night landed back in what remained of his and Blisses room, both she and Seth dismounting from he dragon. Almost immediately, the three of them were overwhelmed by medical teams, guards, politics, and media ponies.

One of the medical officials along with a few guards quickly encouraged Blissy onto a carry bed and quickly hustled her out before she could hug Seth a final time. A clear look of distress lit across her face as Nights followed her out, but before he did, he stopped suddenly, turned back to Seth and fluttered up to him in his pegasus form, huggnig him tightly.

 

"Thank you my friend..." Nights said, a tear of joy and regret fell down his cheek, "after everything the both of us have been through...The horrible things I thought about you...and my wife...I lost trust...I- I betrayed your trust...I don't deserve to be your friend...by any of our codes...But... I hope you can forgive me, as I forgave you..."

 

He let go of the grey wolf, bowed to him again, then fluttered off to be with Bliss as Seth ordered.

Seth nodded to Night as he left. As the guards and medical team surrounded him, the media spewing out every question imaginable, Seth just smiled. Pushing past the guards, he went to his own room as to patch up the wounds from the battle with the changeling before heading back to the throne room. Closing the door behind him, Seth picked up a medical kit he kept with him at all time. Sitting on the couch, he opened the kit and began to clean off the blood from his fur.

 

"So, you trusted both Bliss and Night." Lightning Chaser said, gaining Seth's attention to find her sitting next to him.

 

With a smirk to her, Seth sat back on the couch, warping one forearm with a bandage. "You forget, wolves trust those that deserve that trust. It takes more than words to cause distrust."

 

"Yet Night nearly killed you." She countered.

 

"And yet I started the fight." Seth returned.

 

"It wasn't him nor Bliss I was warning you of though. It was the council member and the doc that visited you." Lightning explained. "They were the changelings that caused the issues."

 

"How did you know?"

 

"I'm dead. I know what death looks like. They were covered with it."

 

"Hmm... you couldn't be more specific?" Seth asked with annoyance.

 

"Hey, can't a girl have her fun?" She laughed.

 

"Not when lives were on the line." Seth yelled, finishing his bandages.

 

With a shake of her head, Lightning faded back into the wolf's mind.

"Dragons and Gryphons, can't I get somepony else to visit me at my hummble office?" the unicorn gray stalllion doctor spoke as a the familiar patient Lightning Bliss followed by her husband were brought to him to examin, "nothing personal your highness, it's just you've been here often enough, it's getting worrysome."

 

"You and me both doctor, but I think this will be the last visit for awhile," Bliss smiled apologetically to the doctor as he began to listen to her heart.

 

"We will do our best anyway," Nights said nuzzling his wife's cheek.

 

"I'm sure..." The doctor sighed as he continued his examination. After several minues of doing so and tolerating Nights getting in the way of his patient and asking the needed questions, "one of my biggest concerns with the changelings was that they may have conducted that same spell that happened to Princess Celestia those few years back...that inevitably caused her death. Thankfully though I don't think this spell was used... They merely drained your magical strength Princess... More likely to keep you docile so their "Queen", Queen Chrysialis to be more percise, could finish you off herself, take your place...and eventually take over Canterlot."

 

"Along with the rest of Equestria if she had the chance," Nights added in.

 

"Exactly... But dont' worry you two. Your magical strength is already started its replenishing process. You just need plenty of rest and not to be distrubed-"

 

"I can't rest now doctor," she inturrupted, "theres' still so much to do and-"

 

"Not be disturbed..." he cut her off, "BY ANY MEANS, neccissary..."

 

Nights nodded to the doctor and agreed, his protective instincts kicking in. "You heard the doctor my love, come let's get you to bed."

Seth walked over to his sink and washed his hands and face off. Looking at himself, he sighed as he hadn't taken any time to tend to his physical needs lately. With a slight smile, he recalled that Shining would take his post soon enough. It would not be long before he was granted some peace for once.

 

The wolf wiped his fur dry and walked to the door. As he opened it, he was met not by the guards or media, but by Bliss and Nights. "So, how is the princess and her Night in shining scales?" he asked.

He grinned at the playon words Seth came up with before replying.

 

"Doctor gave her strict orders to rest Prince Seth," he nuzzled his reluctant mare.

 

"I don't see what all the big fuss is about... I'm just a bit out of strength... He said it was coming back on its own already. I can rest in the throne room while we do some work and-" She began to fall slightly but sure enough Nights was there to lift her off her hooves and readying to carry her to their room.

 

"I think we can't argue with the doctor...but if I must ask the current Prince of Equestria to order you to go rest... i will." He grinned at her cheekily while nodding to Seth of his full approval.

Seth smiled at the two, knowing Bliss was just trying to be a good princess and Night being a good husband.

 

"Bliss, I really don't want to be known as the prince of Equestria that ordered his princess to bed. You know you need to sleep, and Night is just trying to help you. Here, you two get a fire going and just relax. I can handle one day's work. If you keep bickering, I will give Night the authority to call upon the guards to make sure you stay in your room. As for now, goodnight." He said with a smile. Nodding to the two, the wolf departed for the kitchen, wanting to make himself a snack before starting the night shift.

 

He walked into the kitchen and grabbed a mug for some fresh brewed coffee. As he did, he noticed that there was also a hot chocolate machine. Thinking of the two ponies, Seth grabbed another pair of mugs and filled them. He then walked to his private pantry and took out a sealed wooden box. Inside were a half dozen bars of wolven chocolate. Taking one out and snapping it in two, he let them melt into the rich drinks. He then found a piece of paper and wrote a note.

Seth"

 

He then took a second paper out and wrote out a second note.

 

"Night, I will be a bit tied up for the next day or two, so that's why I need your assistance. There is something that has been plaguing my mind ever since these events has occurred. Before Bliss tried to move the sun, she was with Luna. She was still with her sister when Bliss was hurt. That was nearly a week ago. I have asked the guard, they have not seen the night princess. I fear... she took the loss rather hardly. No one has been for her. I fear that she might slip into a more... hardened state... or worse... Please, if you or your wife could check on her, it would mean the world to me. We need her, and she needs us before its too late...

Signing the letter, he folded the paper and wrote 'Night Lights' on the top of it. He just hope it wasn't too late. Taking a tray with the beverages and papers, Seth placed it at the door and knocked. Before the couple arrived, he returned to the throne room with his coffee.
