Stellar had not realised that the cannibals had followed her over this great distance, and before long they were upon the camp. All the members were overwhelmed by the cannibals, and Stellar found herself isolated fighting off a group of three cannibalistic ponies. With her tiny dagger she managed to incapacitate one jawless mare, and then with another swipe she took out another. As soon as they fell to the ground, another two took their place, and Stellar sighed with exhaustion, and sweat began to trickle down the length of her face. She shot a small light beam at an oncoming stallion, and it singed his fur, then he caught alight catching on some flammable material he must’ve got on his fur.  But the stallion didn't stop. He ran straight at Stellar, his fur ablaze, his face contorted with a wild snarl, and jaws agape teeth ready to bite into her soft flesh. The Stallion tackled her to the ground, and her dagger spiralled out of her jaws from the collision. She tried to use her magic to pick it up, but then another three more cannibals piled onto of the Stallion, and she had to focus her efforts on keeping their jaws away from her. They bit furiously at the air above, and she felt her limbs, and magic begin to tire. It was only a matter of time before they sunk their teeth into her, and then the other mouths would follow.

Soul laughed as two more pegasi appeared. "It's just a party today, aint it?" He stopped laughing. This was not that funny. Running over to his swords and armor, he saw the unicorn that had brought the horde here shoot a bolt of light magic at one of the zombies. 'Light magic' soul thought, 'if we live, that could be usefull.'

Getting to his swords, he heard a zombie's grumbling behind him. Without thinking, Soul bucked at it, his hoof implanting itself in the ponies face. That didn't feel good...

Shaking off the remains, he ran to the front of the horde, to the two Pegasi. About halfway there, he was stopped by a zombie, this mare looked like, in life, she had a Yellow coat and long, smooth pink hair. In the afterlife, this was coated in splotches of blood, some still wet, others encrusted on her.

Soul ran by the zombie, grabbing what was left of its hair as it walked by. Swinging the hair, and by extension, the zombie, in the air, he heard a cracking noise. Putting a lot of effort into one last swing, he separated the mare's body from her head, sending the body flying, hitting two more Unicorn zombies before slamming into a tree. Soul held the skull up in the air with magic. Might as well make a joke... Lighten the mood. "Romeo, oh Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo..." He said loudly, hoping the others saw.

Dropping the skull and running to the front lines, he saw something interesting. There were only about 14 zombies left, but they were confused as to which blur of motion and sound they should be following. He turned to the only defenseless pony in the group, Silver Spades. Giving him one of his swords, he winked at him. "Do me a favor, dont die." Soul said, then moved on. There were a lot more Zombie skulls to be crushed.

Domino was laughing with glee. More and more bodies kept falling around him, fueling his bloodlust. At this point, he didn't care if he beheaded them or not. He just wanted to see them in tiny, insignificant pieces. Smiling as the crowd around him grew smaller, he stopped when he heard a yell behind him.

Turning, he noticed that mare from earlier was busy fighting off three zombies, struggling to get up and not get bitten. Smirking, Domino looked at her plight and laughed mirthlessly, content to let her fight them off her own.

That's what she gets for being stupid...

Suddenly, another thought struck his brain. What if he were to save her? If she was part of the group, then that may help him be able to stick with them, not to mention her potential as a lackey. The more he thought about it, the stronger that thought became. Finally, he ran up to the group the mare was pinned by struck a zombie in the face.

Teeth, blood, and pus oozed out of the zombie's face after that punch. Looking at Domino for a second, it then leapt up at him, only to fall to the ground, as it's torso was currently ton in two. The other two were dispatched just as easily, one beheaded, the other cleaved, and the mare was safe, figuratively.

Swallowing his pride at being forced into contact with another pony, he held out his hoof.

"A-Are you...alright?" Domino said, trying his best to sound concerned.

30 minutes? More like 30 seconds! Double Side noted that Lone Survivor could NOT judge distance and time.

In any other situation like this, Double Side had made a rule to run away. More than two or three in one place meant that he couldn't take them. But this time was different. He couldn't run this time. He had to prove to these ponies that he was a capable fighter, that he wouldn't be a burden and that he would be useful in the group.

Strikeout took over instantly. He dashed for his backpack and grabbed the grip of his baseball bat with his maw and pulled it from its bindings. He tossed it into the air and allowed it to spin. He timed his bite just right so that he caught it in the bat was facing the direction he was most comfortable in. Strikeout turned and faced an on coming zombie. These were slow ones, ones who had lost their ability to run. He wouldn't have too much trouble keeping out of their teeth.

All of the drills ran through Strikeout's head. Its head was the ball, the bases were loaded, and he needed to hit a home run to win the game. He moved his head and prepared to hit a fastball thrown by a unicorn. His bat hit the infected's head and made a satisfying crack. It cracked open in a bloody mess splattering red fluids and rotten grey matter all over Double Side.

He knew that he had to stay alert. Now the ones that could still smell would be focusing their attention on him. Amid the chaos Double Side closed his eyes and tuned out everything but his surroundings. One slow, heavy hoof step clopped on the ground behind. Strikeout twisted his body and spiraled bat-first at the zombie. His steel tool made contact with the infected's head, knocked it off the ground, and sent it flying towards a try. It fell to the ground leaving a trail of blood down the bark.

Suddenly Double Side went stiff. He gasped, as if he we surprised by the situation. Book Worm let the bat fall to the ground with a loud clang. He saw an infected slowly shuffling towards him. He panicked, he wasn't a fighter. He didn't know what to do.

"H-h-help!" He screamed.

Stellar thought she was done for, when suddenly the attacking ponies collapsed to the ground as a Stallion sliced at them with his machete. Once they were dealt with, he held out his hoof sincerely, helping her up. She grabbed at it, and lifted herself off the ground.
"Thanks," She said quickly, and began searching for her dagger on the ground.
The attacking horde, had thinned out a bit from their defense. With many of their dead corpses strewn across the ground. Most of them just hovered in pairs, or by themselves. She dispatched a mare with a swift jab to the skull, and then twirled in a circle to jab another in the throat. When she heard a scream. A single infected pony, was chasing down one of the members of the camp. She was quick on her feet, travelling the distance in an instance, and disabling the pony with a skilful jab to its spine. The pony seized up, and crippled, falling to the ground in spasm. She looked at the camp member who'd screamed for help, then around at the dying embers of the fight around her. There were still about a dozen of the infected left, but they milled around slowly and were being dispatched easily. As the adrenaline left from her body, she couldn't help but realise that this was all her fault. She'd led this horde upon this camp, she'd caused all of this. She felt a rock form in the pit of her stomach from the shame, but shook it off, realising that she still needed to clean up her mess, she set about helping the others dispatch the last remaining infected.

as night dreake walked on the path he thought how fast his life had went to hell. It was supposed to be an easy job get in, eliminate the target, get out all while being undetected. wasn't expecting the target to be already dead... or with company ready to eat me. at first I thought I was set up by my employer wouldn't be the first time. after dispatching those... things I walked out on the street finding more of them with a couple living pony's running for there lives.

*shudders* it was one of the most horrible things I experienced in my life. this all happened in canterlot after leaving that celesta forsaken place I headed for the caves were I lived to grab all my supplies mostly my knife belts and poisons clearly im going to need a lot more weapons than what I brought with me. as I worked my way to the cave I thought of my supplier I chose a life of solitude but if I could call any pony my friend it was him. when I entered the cave I grabbed all my knifes and poisons and grabbed two weeks supplies of food and got the hell out of there.

I went into the white tail forest killing a few zombies here and there I only moved during the night and in the shadows avoiding anything that might attract unwanted attention. suddenly a scream priced the night distracting me from my thoughts I decided to take flight and perched my self in a nearby tree were I saw this camp getting attacked by a hoard of zombies the sound came from a pony on the ground about to be attacked when a unicorn killed it with a clean cut threw the spine.

as I watched and I thought to myself she would make an exhalant assassin when I noticed a small grope of 4 zombies headed for the camp I drew 3 of my throwing daggers and dispatched 3 of them than drew a lager dagger from my side jumped down to kill the last one. with a clean strike to the neck I had cut the head clean off its body with the zombies back to being lifeless corpses I looked up to see they had finished the fight. as much as I don't like interacting with other pony's expect my supplier I also realized I could not do this alone with a sigh I headed for there camp.

Soul dispatched the last zombie coming for him. looking around, he saw that while some ponies where started, none were hurt. He saw one pony trying to sneak away, only to bump into another new pony.

"Seriously, where do you all keep coming from?" soul muttered to himself. He shouted to get everyone's attention: "Oy! We've survived a horde, now I think it's time we were introduced to each other."

Walking over to the Firepit in the middle, pushing a zombie corpse out of it, he began to light a fire. It was getting dark anyway, so they'd need something. He got a small stack of wood together, then looked at the Unicorn with light magic. "Excuse me, miss. Can you light this for me with your magic? I'd appreciate it."

Looking back at the group, he began to introduce himself. "Hello to all of you, Since I already know Silver Spades and StrikeOut, I'll introduce myself to the rest of you. My name is Soul Survivor. I am a retired Royal Guardsman. I had this place set up before you all came here, and I am grateful that you all helped defend it. Can you all introduce yourselves so we know who everypony is before we go to sleep? I, for one, am tired after killing that many zombies."

Atlas shifted uneasily. These ponies seemed good enough but still...

"Name's Atlas. Pleasure meeting all of you but I've got to move. Have anyone seen a Zebra near here. About this high. Stripes all over him. No? We just got out of Baltimore three days ago. Place is overrun. Same with Canterlot. Now if you'll excuse me" He began to creep out of the camp taking his leave.

Lone saw a camp on top of one of the hills near the White Tail Forest

"Survivors?", he other self said looking at it as well

"Should we trust them?", he asked it

"Maybe I say follow them for a little bit then introduce yourself", it suggested

"Agreed I will come up with a half truth of how I survived", he said

He made sure he gathered a enough supplies before he left and was carrying them in a backpack and made way towards the camp and killing zombies along the way, being quite as possible and somewhat walking with them. He then teleported to the tree tops and jump his way towards the camp

Domino looked at the group in front of him, unsure of what to do.

They seem friendly enough...but I can't be too careful. They're probably waiting till I get my guard down so they can stab me in the back...

Shifting slightly, he struggled to smile in what he hoped was a non-threatening way. Unfortunately, all it did was make him look like a lunatic. After seeing the ponies odd looks, he promptly frowned and glared at them.

"What are you all looking at? What, you never seen a pegasus before? I wouldn't expect you to, you're too busy kissing the ground to notice."

Double Side's face twisted up in disgust at the very sound of Domino's voice. Being as well read as he was Book Worm could easily identify a facade. But it was not like anypony needed a trained eye to spot this one. And what was under that facade was a face that said I want to kill all of you.

"What are you all looking at? What, you never seen a pegasus before? I wouldn't expect you to, you're too busy kissing the ground to notice."

Double Side's Strikeout half was steaming with anger after this. If he was controlling the body right now he probably would have smashed Domino's face into a rock. A pony like this doesn't deserve to survive!

Book Worm on the other hoof remained calm, but shot a scowl at Domino. "With uninfected ponies being as rare as they are now this world has no place for racism." He said sternly. "Be lucky you've found any other pony at all. So I suggest keeping you insults to yourself. And be warned, my brother isn't as patient as I am."

As the ponies introduce themselves I became suspicious of a few. The one who calls himself Atlas seem skittish and has something to hide while this domino does not appear to be all there. Seeing that the ponies are taking little interest in me. I decided I will introduce myself to the leader and keep my interactions with the others to a minimal. I walked up to the one who calls himself Soul. "Hello my name is night dreke and if you haven't already noticed I am a bat pony. So if you don't mind I will take the night shift".

Before giving Soul a chance to answer I took flight and went into the shadows of the trees were I perched myself in them. As I gazed into the night two ponies started setting up sleeping bags close by. It was the two earlier during the attack. The unicorn I believe she called herself Stella? And two-sided or something. As I sat perched in the shadows I listened in on their conversation. From what I heard to sided has a brother and more importantly a journal. Being a master of poisons of course I have to know Antidotes too. If I got my hoofs on that journal and see what he knows maybe something in that journal can help me make a vaccine or at least a more stronger resistance to it. Who knows one day whatever cause this might become a useful poison for future assignments.

As the night grew longer the ponies fell deeper into sleep. I decided now was my chance I glided down from the treetops and headed where this two-sided was sleeping. The little guy was snoring with his journal tucked beneath his hoof. I took the edge very carefully and began to slide it out from under his hoof. Then he sneezed feeling that I had woken him I remove my hoof and reached for a dagger. When he didn't wake I resumed what I'ed been doing. At last the journal came free. I took flight back into the trees and continue to watch the pony in case he woke up. He just continued sleeping I looked at the journal in my hoof then opened it. First I was disappointed there seemed to be no actual information on the zombies just his personal experience with them.

I may note it was funny when he mentioned that he got slugged by a zombie. But there was no actual information regarding their habits. Then I noticed something else. It looks like more than one pony wrote in this journal. At first I thought it might be his brother. But then I thought even though I've been at this camp For a short time there was no pony that resemble him. No similar body traits no personality structures. If I wasn't for me being an assassin I would not have thought of this. I found it odd but since there was no actual information I flew down and put the journal next to him. As I flew back up ready to complete the last part of my watch I thought I would question him on it next time I saw him.

Late at night, Silver was tossing and turning in the small bed he had made. He was trying desperately to rest with the others, but no matter how hard he tried sleep evaded him. Eventually, he found himself lying awake and starring up at the sky.

~

When the fighting began Silver was no where to be found. He had heard the alert and thought that maybe there would be time to set up a solid perimeter or barricade. He thought there would be time to make a safe place to eliminate the horde from. Unfortunately, the minutes he thought they had were only seconds.

He struggled to get to higher ground (apparently not learning from last time) and watched as the group tore through most of the horde. He wasn't sure if he should feel happy they were on his side or scarred of who to tick off. That's when it happened.

A disfigured Pegasus had snuck up behind him. Before he knew it, Silver was grappled.

~

He didn't want to recall the rest of that memory, so he distracted himself by looking around at everyone else. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to help. "...I wasn't bit... Even then, it was only one and I barely managed to ki~" That last word came a little bit too easily. It was a harsh reality check, but he would have to get use to it.

"..." He quietly left his bed and grabbed his bag. He wasn't leaving camp, but Silver moved a small distance away from the sleeping ponies to craft something. Hopefully, his movement hadn't woken someone else.

Double Side outstretched his hooves with a yawn. The pain in his bladder told him that he had to risk getting up and going out into the woods if he wanted to keep this sleeping bag, and he was particularly fond of it. Taking his bat from his pack Double Side got up and went towards a bush to let his liquid waste out. As he prepared to walk back to his bag, he noticed Silver getting up and walking over a little ways from the camp. Concerned, Double Side followed him.

"What are you doing?" He whispered when he got next to him.

Soul yawned as he awoke. He had been waking up at regular hours himself for the past week for safety, and it wasn't until he bumped into the bat pony overlooking the camp that he remembered he didnt have to anymore. Either way, he turned to the pony.

"So... Don't think we've been introduced. Name's Soul Survivor. I was a Royal Guard for princess Celestia and Luna. I was, after years of service, granted Alicorn ranking in the guard... As you may have noticed."

He looked up at the sky, the stars shining brilliantly against the dark blue backdrop, the moon hovering silently over the hills. "But those days are gone. They were gone long before this dreaded apocalypse... There was a war... I-I cant recall many details, and frankly, i don't want to, but i was injured... A pony crushed my horn and badly damaged the tissue around my wings. I have to wear this brace forever unless i can find a healer with enough magic to fix it." He chuckled. "And that seems almost impossible now... Anyway, i haven't met a bat pony who doesn't try to kill everyone on sight before. Care to tell me anything about yourself?"

After Book had spoken, Silver looked down at the materials in his hooves and started to softly laugh again. "Oh, I'm sorry, I know how this looks." He took a moment to gently lay the objects on the ground in front of them and explained. "These are just a few small trinkets that i thought would be useful while scavenging. I'm always careful with these particular trinkets because... The're very loud..." He knew that if he wanted to work on this idea, he would have to be careful and a small distance away. Too much noise could be a danger to the groups safety.

He picked up what looked like a small lighter and showed it Book, not all of his objects made sound either. " I don't really have anything here that would really harm either one of us... Well, at least these objects are harmless by themselves."

I sigh wondering why I trust this pony I just met. "With this outbreak of zombies it's given me a second chance to do something right to use the skills I use for the good of the living instead of ending it". "Do these materials have some sort of affect on the infected when they are mixed together?" Book Worm sounded really interested. He realized this an felt the need to explain himself. "It's just that I'm writing this journal with my findings on the infected and I want to know everything I can. So if you've found something that they react to I would love to know." I saw him once before through a window he was a former target of an assignment I'ed taken three months ago. I failed the assignment my employer tried to kill me. I killed him... was one of the few deaths I caused that I don't regret. I should keep my distance from him just then I realized double side was missing along with silver spades or something Silverheart maybe or was it silver clubs it was silver something can't be bothered to remember. The only one I could still see sleeping was Stellai walked 3 more feet ahead of her and sat down to continue my watch.
