Hello everypony !

So I've never been really talented in drawing but it never was catastrophic either so I thought, why not try my hand on ponies ? And after a few weeks of daily drawing and redrawing and redrawing again (all with a pen, my computer is broken and I don't even have a graphic-tablet anyways so yeah...).

So today, I wanted you to tell me how I can do my bases better (without completely changing the style of course ^^), here they are :

• Mare :

• Colt

• Other basic features :

I'm sorry if it's a little messy, you know how hands are nowadays, not what they used to be ! :P And the colt has a big butt so... yeah. I can't do his snout though, whatever I try it's awful, any tips on that ?

Thank you if you answer :)

Probably the only simple advice I can offer for ANY drawing:

Take your time, there is no race on how fast you draw.

Also, use the pencil lightly, so you can erase it more easily when you make a mistake. (I keep doing the opposite...  )

Other than that, I am not very helpful with advice... :(

I'm the slowest person ever at drawing haha, a few days ago we drew with a friend a comic and when she finished her first page when I finished the first square haha >< And for the pencil I use a 2H, I had to redraw the lines with an HB because the scanner wouldn't recognize it ^^

If you made the colt's snout/muzzle/mouth thing slant inward a little more toward the body, you'd have a pretty fine looking head. As it is he looks like he has some noticeable underbite.

Another thing you should look at is how straight the legs are. Ponies are very curvy, their legs shouldn't be that straight. The forelegs in particular are more bowed backward.

(Struggling with this as a beginner myself, but hey.)

Okay, thank you ^^ Now that I look at these drawings, the legs seem really small... aren't they ? I will try tomorrow for the head again, thanks so much :)
