*jumps in trough window* Yugoslavia was not Axis and was in the Balkans. Just sayin'. I know I don't belong here. I'm just gonna run away now. *runs away*

It was controlled by the Axis as a puppet state, however. Still counts in a way, even though they didn't really fight with them.

 

(Also, Albania and Greece is considered Balkan.)

Excuse me?? We didn't fight them? It was under occupation, the military of Yugoslavia fought against Nazi Germany, and after the military capitulated, there were guerrilla movements such as: the Chetnik Movement, the Partizans, ZBOR, etc. They all fought against the aggressor. If you want to call something in Yugoslavia Axis, you had the NDH (Independent State of Croatia) which was so "independent" that it was divided into German and Italian occupation zones. You're forgetting about Ravna Gora and the People's Republic of Užice

Strange that no one really cares about WWI when it's equally as bloody and horrible as its "successor".

Hiding in trenches while being mowed down constantly by machine gun fire and artillery while we wait for the Germans to finish off the Russians on the Eastern Front.

 We Serbs weren't hiding in trenches so we made the first victories for the Allies and we were the only Allies who were advancing in enemy territory Eventually we had to retreat when Germany took the lead against us but we came back on the Solun/Salonika front and liberated first Yugoslavia, and then some units advanced all the way to Paris.

It was different in China and Japan, who were with the Allies. China was too busy fighting with their own warlords and corrupt politicians; Japan was probably one of the few countries that suffered the least and came out stronger than before like the US.

 

Also, I'm Chinese. I never went to Serbia before, but one of our classmates in our History class just recently returned to Slovenia. We contact him on Skype. (To be honest, Slovenes, Croats, Bosnians, and Serbs look identical >.>)

Because Slovenes, Bosnians, Macedonians and 90% of Croats are in fact Serbs, they are just invented nations, some by the communist regime, others even earlier.
