Bliss could just make out Seth's growling and Boom's clever sarcastic back talk out in the hallway...but it only aided in making her shake in terror, paralized and ashamed to do anything. Seth was on his own she realized...too afraid and too stupid to help him to save her own skin. What could I do? She sobbed into her hooves, she's a vampire...a natural vampire...something I never actually faced before! She's too smar too...she's probably hundreds of years old for all I know...compared to her i'm just a foolish filly with a wolf for a friend...

 

Her sobbing grew louder though as she went against her own thoughts and wepply rose from the bed and poked her head out her room, to observe the scene unfold. "S-Seth...?" She called to him as he continued to bare his teeth, "what...what are you going to do...? Come back in here where its safe!" She shuddered back slightly as she saw the familiar flicker of red cross Boom's eyes...She was in defense mode now....and looking more menacing then before. She also quickly caught eyes with Atlas then...his eyes full of revenge and anger...making her drop her ears back in shame, sniffing badly. "I'm sorry Atlas...I'm so sorry!" She cried out staring at the floor, tremmbling.

Atlas looked at the wolf. "Seth. I have nothing against you. Just get out of the way" He stayed just where he was. Lighting Bliss darted out of the room and began to beg for forgiveness. Atlas's first reaction was to spit on her mane and push her aside. He was going to do just that but he stopped.

Atlas you fool! You were about to trade your mortality and whatever for vampirism out of spite and rage! She's to blame her. She had you running. 

Atlas's anger just went from one pony to the the other.

"You!" He turned on Boom. "Why in Tartarus did I actually trust you?!" He pulled his knife and pushed her to the wall. He had his leg on her neck pinning her to the wall. He knew he couldn't keep this up. She was stronger than him with her mystical mumbo jumbo. 

"Seth! Go into my room and into my closet. You'll find a book in there. Destroy it" He turned back to the pinned DJ. There noses were inches apart. "You! I should gut you know. And I am!" He stabbed her in the heart. It wasn't silver but it had to hurt. If he was going to kill her he needed her heart out and that would take a bit.

Seth was about to protest to the order, but he then agreed. It was more out of fear that he left the room,not wanting to be in the same room as a rage-driven pony. Running to Atlas's room, Seth grabbed the book in his teeth and ran for the stares. He planed to burn the book, as he too wanted this plague away and out of his life. However, as he approached the bottom of the stares, he was stopped by a joyfully (possibly mental) flying pony. Staring at the pony for several seconds, Seth remembered the story of Sidewinder being ground bound for life. This must have been the vampire regeneration. He was growing, which only meant one thing... Hunger.

 

"S-sidewinder?" He asked, dropping the book. "I liked you, and I don't want to hurt you. I just want to help. We all just-" he was cut off when his ears heard the cutting of flesh from up stairs.

As Lightning Bliss emerged from her room to pleed Seth to return with her, that was until she switched to Atlas asking for his forgiveness numerous times. Boom still stood nonchalantly waiting for the wolf to make a move, that was until. "You!" The shout came from an enraged Atlas. He questioned the fact as to why he trusted her to begin with as he suddenly slammed her back against the wall. His hoof pinned tightly over her neck.

 

Looking at the knife in his free hoof Boom's eyes almost started watering up, as the Pegasus informed Seth of her book. "I don't know? I thought yo-" she was cut off by a threatening remark accompanied by the sharp sting of his blade piercing into her chest. Blinking in surprise the look of disbelief and betrayal flashed through her lime eyes. She could feel the metal twisting inside her, he was literally trying to cut her heart clean from her body.

 

A flash back of earlier that day hit her, where he threatens to do the samething if she hadn't stayed out of the way. As far as she knew, that's exactly what she had been doing until..."Blackmail?" She thought out loud, probably the farthest thing in Atlas's mind, but just the sheer hate she'd been recieveing since she 'woke up' lead to this moment.

 

"Y-You!" She hissed, Badaboom's voice however echoed thunderously, in an indescribable mixture of her normal voice, and that of a low gutteral seemingly demonic tone. "You played me! You were just looking for an excuse to do this to me all day! WEREN'T YOU!?!!" Her rage of this utter insult could not have been displayed anymore clearly. Mentally tapping into her turned friend's mind calling out for Sidewinder's help.

 

At the same time her mind touched his she could sense his happiness, and the fact he was midair. This made her feel all the more depressed, why couldn't circumstances be different? She thought as she pushed herself further into Atlas's weapon uncaring of the pain by doing so.

 

"Why!?! I asked you countless times! Why!?!" B-Box's eyes where needless to say firey red at this point. "What do you have against me!?! You!!" She suddenly put her eyes on Bliss, then Seth, grabbing Atlas's knife weilding hoof with her superior EarthPony, vampire, and adrenaline based strength all acting simultaneously she applied more than nessacery pressure, making it nearly impossible for him to pull away. "This is what you were wanting, wasn't IT!?!!" She literally cried, tears running down her cheeks, as Sidewinder erupted through her doorway hurling himself through the air, towards Boom's attacker.

Everything happened in a flash for Bliss...Atlas sudden attack and stabbing into Boom...Seth snarling down the stairs with a book...and now in a beat of his newly formed wings...Sidewinder coming to his maker's aid. Boom's cries of outrage and betrayl were distinct and saddening to her...but the fact remained...Atlas was in more trouble then she was. Everything seemed to slow down as her adrillien over came her fear...now was a time to fight or flight...but for pony sake, she knew what she was about to do wasn't going to save her own skin should the vampires turn on her next.

 

Her horn began to glow brightly to her insinctual plea for rescue...And before she could stop herself or the magic within...it surrounded Atlas protectively...sparkle vividly then teleport him away downstairs into the kitchen. Bliss stepped back realizing what she had done after grasping her horn in panic and pain. Her reflex to teleport away was overcome by the fear for Atlas' life...Boom and Sidewinder would have surely killed him...she knew by his advance...Two vampires had the strength of more then 20 ponies.

 

The reflex of the sudden teleportation of a pony sized object weakened her magic and strength, only for temporarily, but it would be several minutes before she could do anything like that again. She rubbed her horn, trying to fix her eyes as they were foggy from the effort, only to realize now...she was alone with Boom and Sidewinder...they standing between her and her only form of escape, the stairs where Seth was.

 

"Um...ah..." she wobbly stepped back, only to suddenly trip over her own clumsy gryphon tail, her weaken state only now more obvious, "this is...this is getting out of hand..." She gulped as her lip quivered in fear, "I don't want to fight...but I don't want I...or my friends...to die either..."

Running right behind the newly flying pony, seth was met with both vampires and Bliss. There was no sign of Atlas. Getting his defensive stance on, he glared at the two as he made his way between Bliss and the two. He growled at the threat, knowing he had some chance at immobilizing one, but it was almost certain that he was going to fall.

 

"Bliss... Run. Don't argue with me, just run. I'll be right behind you, now run!" He yelled, not looking away from the vampires.

Atlas cried in pain as Boom grabbed his hoof with her crushing grip. "You won't get away!" He shouted at her. Suddenly he found himself in the kitchen.

"What?" He stood in confusion for a moment. Teleportation... Wait! That meant Lighting Bliss was alone with two bloodsuckers! And Seth was trying to get rid of the book! He ran back to the hall where the fight was still ensuing. Good, Seth had showed. 

"Seth, Bliss get out of here! You'll have to go through the storm! You have to get out. You're  more important than me! If a royal and diplomat disappear somepony's going to look. If I'm gone they'll assume I died in the Everfree forest. Go!" He stood in between the two groups.

"You may get me Boom but you won't get them. Are you going to fight me or what?" Atlas got into a fighting stance. His knife was still embedded in Boom's chest leaving without a weapon except his hooves.

Not about to argue with Seth or Atlas for risking themselves to save her...and not being much help herself anymore, Bliss rose to her feet, and cantered down the hall to the window, barely keeping her balance. She kicked the window open, glass breaking around the edges and outside as the wind gusted through, blowing all the way down the hall to the others and sending a shiver up her spine.

 

No cloak and no time to run and get it, she gulped and dug deep, then flung herself out into the night, landing into a thick pile of fresh snow. She stuck her head out, to look at the window she leapt from. It's lit lamps of the upstairs hallway were the only light she had in the cool darkness of the blizzard. "Gah...so cold...Seth...Atlas!" She called to them, praying they were coming out after her too...She waited several seconds, then slowly pulled herself out of the snow. "Got to...stay warm..wait for Seth and Atlas...I can't leave them..." she shook violently as the wind and snow continued to howl around her. Even if she could fly...the winds were too rough...and the snow was so blinding she could barely make out the tip of her nose if she turned away towards the forest.

Just as Sidewinder was about to barrel into the pony pinning Boom against the wall, Atlas suddenly vanished into a burst of light. The blade however was left in her chest, which was quickly tossed aside. Immediate realse of pressure was somewhat of a relief. Dropping to the floor she brought a hoof to her wound, which was already well on it's way of healing. A thin cloud of sizzling steam puffed from her deep injury.

 

B-Box watched her turned partner miss his attempted rescue. She'd be sure to thank him later, perhaps when she'd be able to congratulate him on his newfound arial capabilities. However at this time Seth took a defensive position as if to protect Lightning Bliss. Moments after ordering her to flee, Atlas reemerged to repeat the demand, but geared towards both the other cabin mates. He then went on to taunt BB getting into an unarmed battle stance, as Bliss leapt from a near window.

 

Blinking a couple times Boom's eyes flicked back to their normal shimmering lime hue. "No...Atlas, I ain't.." Her tears had slowed, but were unable to stop entirely, her rage however seemed to subside altogether. She looked at her hooves, then to Atlas just in case he tried to take an opportunity, and finally resting them on Seth. Before he had a chance to leave as well, "My book?" She mumbeled in a soft, yet worried tone.

Atlas gasped for breath as he impacted with the wall. Out of nowhere Sidewinder had tackled him to the wall and had him pinned. He looked up at the pegasus. His eyes were full of anger and bloodlust. His fangs extended past his lip like that of a snake. The pony began to pound him with stronger-than-normal punches. The ponies attempts to to knock him cold were futile however. Atlas's head pounded with pain with the adrenaline in his system numbing only slightly. The pounding had sapped him of his energy and he was in no position to even attempt to break free. 

This is it, Atlas. You made your mistakes and made your contributions. Atlas reserved himself to defeat. He was either going to die or become one of those bloodsuckers. He smirked, which in itself was painful, in spite of the damnation of vampirism.

"Come one then! Finish me! Take your meal!"

Badaboom's attention on Seth was jerked aside, as Sidewinder hurled himself forward, forcing himself and Atlas across the room. Though, her first turned eyes were now glowing, filled with an unprecedented bloodlustful urge fueled by rage. She took note in the fact he was crying, spawning a weak sorrowful smile. Not that she enjoyed seeing Sidewinder pound on the other Pegasai in the slightest. Boom was just involuntarily proud to see that her friend was only doing what he felt what had to be done. In short she couldn't help but feel somewhat appreciative that Sidewinder stood up for her, even if his bloodrage did push him to such an extreme.

 

Though Boom's mild happiness faded when Atlas eged Sidewinder on, entirely so when Sidewinder obligatorily obliged. Casting her eyes away once his fangs sank in, Boom sighed silently, knowing that it had to be done sooner and later. She tried to find some silver lining in the incident, the fact that now Sidewinder would essentially be the way he was previous to the night before. Only stronger, faster, airborne, immor-

 

BB's train of thought was cut short by Sidewinder's howl of regret. She glanced over to see him balled up next to his now deceased prey. Knowing that there was no way she could lend a hoof to lighten his emotions she returned her intent back to Seth. "My book?" She repeated, slightly more threatening this time, yet pity was still caught in her throat.

Seth was slackjawed at the sight. The attack on atlas was too quick to be prevented. He only stained as the life was drained out of the stallion. Slowly, his fear-strike face turned to boom. With bliss out of the cabin, he had fufilled his duty to protect her. But now...

 

He slowly walked out of the room and to the stairwell where the book lay. Picking it up, he began to walk back to the room. However, as he was about to walk in, he saw his one shot: the window bliss used. Gripping the book tight in his mouth, he charged out it and into the tundra. He sprinted upon impact with the ground, advancing on Bliss. This was his one shot for the two to get away. "BLISS! RUN!" He called out.

Atlas felt as Sidewinder's mouth daggers dug into his neck. He tried to scream but nothing came out. 

So this really is it... Death from getting my blood sucked out of me... I was expecting to get cut to pieces by some Griffon's sword.

As more of his blood left his body he began to feel calm. He went limp and just stopped caring. He was going to die. Big deal. His body felt cold. A faint numbness came over him. How was he not dead yet? He felt something else... replace his blood. It felt so... strange. But he didn't care. Life or death didn't matter to him anymore. Maybe it was the fact he didn't have any blood? Nah. The last of his blood left his body replaced with Sidewinder's venom. He heard him cry out in sadness next to him. 

Can't that pony just be quiet. I feel like taking a nap. Just give me a few minutes...

Bliss lifted her shivering head up in a jolt seeing a black blur that was Seth advance to her, shouting her to run...and all happened within a matter of seconds. Before she could remember where she was perviously, she was running frantically through the storm and woods with Seth tailing behind her. Her adrillien kicked back up again, throwing off the cold painful numbness that had previously had a hold on her legs, and instead replaced with a desprate need to survive.

 

Her wings on the other hand, were clamped tightly to her side, sealed tightly by a thin layer of ice that had formed on her when she first dived out into the snow. She never took the time to brush it off...and as a result, she couldn't move them. She only noticed when she attempted to flap to gain more grounds, but when they didn't respond, fear forced her to skid to a stop next to a large oak sitting next to a frozen creek.

 

"Wait...SETH!" She whinnied to him as she haulted, "my wings! My wings! I can't feel them! Oh Luna oh Luna!" She swished her head back and right as she attempted to force her wings to open, but with each effort, nothing came, only a pain at the base of her wings, followed by twinges...it was as if she was slowly losing feeling within them. In her hysteria, she dated back to health class and immiedatly assumed the worst. "Oh gods I'm going to lose my wings aren't I??? AREN'T I!" She dropped to her rump on the snow and began to sob hysterically. The howling winds aided in keeping her down, avoiding sending a message to the vampires that soon would be hunting them both down.

Carefully watching the wolf retreat slowly from her room, Boom again rose to her hooves. She contemplated following Seth to wherever her book did lie, but figured that out of the bunch he wouldn't be stupid enough to try anything funny. Her assumptions seemed to be right as the canine returned shortly after, book safely gripped in his mouth.

 

Opening her own mouth to give thanks, Badaboom didn't have time to get out a single syllable before Seth leapt daringly from the shattered window previously used by Blissy. Boom's jaw stayed dropped as a look of disbelief over took her, yet again. Th-that just happened? she asked mentally. BB shook her head running to the windowsill placing her front hooves onto it as she looked out into the darkness.

 

B-Box had exceptional night vision, even in Vampire standards, and though she followed the two with her eyes longer than most would've been able to. The Winter storm was something else, as the pair managed to disappear. Looking over her shoulder to the still huddled up, weeping Sidewinder, she felt her own refilling with moisture.

As the dense forest that bordered the perimeter of the cabin concealed the two runners, Seth looked to Bliss as they slowed down. Her wings had created a slight ice layer over them, preventing any opening and most likely cutting off blood flow from the loss of natural heat. As the alicorn began to panic, Seth placed a reassuring paw on her shoulder. "Bliss...Lightning... we are going to make it. We just need to stay focused. You have a dragon who is going to be waiting for you at home and I rather not have to send him a letter of condolence." He said, looking strait into the alicorn's eyes. After a few seconds of science, he looked to her frozen wings. "Well... you won't lose them, but flight will be out of the question." He said, laying a gentle paw on the stiff appendages. First thing to do was to get blood flowing before any muscular decay took place. With wings, the feathers were holding some heat in, allowing minimal blood to flow.

 

Gesturing Bliss to sit, Seth placed the vampire book in front of her. "Not to seem rude, but the best thing for you to do is probably read over this and see what you can find. I will go find some timber for firewood. I will need you to light it though." With that, he gave the alicorn a light hug before departing from their little campsite in the search for timber.

Holding back her own tears Badaboom slowly marched from the window to Sidewinder's side. She looked down at the back of his slumped head placing a single hoof on his shoulder. "I...I appreciate what you did for me there. Even if it wasn't entirely a selfless act." Boom sighed lowering her vision to Atlas's motionless body. "It'd have to be done at some point..." Realizing that she was probably making the freshly fed Pegasus feel even worse about himself, she chose to stop talking.

 

If only for a moment as a thought crossed her mind. Remaining silent Boom scooped up Atlas onto her back, uncaring of the small portion of blood that dribbled on her already ruined hoodie. "Let's get 'im to bed, huh?" BB questioned softly looking back to her friend motioning to Atlas's room before slowly making her way there.

Bliss took a deep breath and calmed down to focus on breathing and staying warm. "Ok Seth...I'll...bb-be right here..." She shivered and placed her large fluffy end of her tail on top of her to help keep warm. She watched nervously as Seth disappeared to search for firewood, as she was left alone with the strange book in front of her. Well it wouldn't hurt for this read to keep me distracted...but...something is obviously important about it, otherwise...Why did Boom want it? She pondered the question as she lifted the cover, after acknowledging the fact it was about 'vampires', maybe facts lore and legend, she was so shaken up she read only what really mattered to her, "vampires". Why would she care about what ponies say about vampires in stories? Far as other ponies know, vampires don't exist-

 

As she read the first paragraph, she became entranced with how diligent the writing was, in the detail about 'vampire ponies', their culture and life style. That mostly they only feed once a year to keep up their strength, and have all the powers as she assumed they would have...but the way it was written...it almost felt like she was reading the writings of a vampire aurthor. "This is...uncanning...Vampires used to be a culture in Equestria?"

"Well, neither were you." Badaboom replied to Sidewinder's first statement, gently tossing Atlas onto his own queen sized mattress. "But that didn't stop you from waking up the morning following." She added pulling a blanket over the adventuring pony, before rotating to put her eyes onto Sidewinder. Seeing Sidewinder cast his line of vision to the floor below, Boom let out another huff as he let out another question.

 

It wasn't much more than a quiet display of irretance, as Boom didn't seem capable at enlightening her winged friend. Nudging his side with her nose to get his attention, B-Box insisted that Sidewinder look at his prey once more. Once the dead pony as in bed, wrapped in a comfy blanket it was hard to tell the fact he was deceased.

 

BB thought a moment on Sidewinder's question. It was surprisingly a rather difficult on to answer. "What do you mean?" She countered. "You do whatever you want." She answered plainly moving to be standing next to him again. "What is it that you want?"
