Royals over Pirates? Considering the huge streaks of losing seasons both of those teams had up until recently, I'd say that'd be a hell of an interesting World Series to watch :D

Also, Prince is going to THRIVE down here in Texas with our RF fence :D Of course, the real question is if he'll be able to hit for average or not; HRs shouldn't be an issue in the slightest. Great pickup on our part.

Also, I'd be amazing if Fernandez could carry on his hot streak from last year; his rookie year was absolutely phenomenal, and if he can keep that going, the whole league will be in for a huge problem :D It's good that the Marlins have a starter they can build a whole rotation around like Fernandez, lord knows they need it.

As a Red Sox fan I'm stoked for this year. It's always tough to repeat but I think we have as good a chance as anyone.

The Royals are going to have to struggle mightily just to scrape a Wild Card spot, there is absolutely no way they make it to the WS this season. I don't mean to be rude, but unless you are a diehard Royals or Pirates fan, your predictions make no sense whatsoever. Indians over the Sox? Royals over the Rangers? Detroit not even making the postseason?

@@Discointhe90s, Can't give the Phils love this season. The team looks really old, and it's gonna really catch up. They're going to rebuild this season, likely by trading for minor-league prospects and draft picks.

@@Something Floaty, Don't count out the Royals. That scrappy team last year finished 86-76 and had a blazing September. If they finished with a winning record in May, they might've won 100 games. Alex Gordon, Eric Hosmer, Billy Butler, and James Shields are going to lead them and help out the bullpen, which was the best last year. Look out for all of those hurlers, including closer Greg Holland. This team is a major sleeper, and I see them making a gigantic run.

The Pirates might've lost Burnett and Byrd, but the Pirates are more than ready to replace them. They have one of the best farm systems in the game, and you have so many stars bidding to come up and make a huge threat.

Baseball is one of the most unpredictable games ever. So often, teams projected to finish 4th or 5th win the division. The 2005 White Sox were expected to finish at least 3rd in the AL Central, only to win it all.

I'm sticking with the predictions.

Royals have been declared the breakout team each season for the past 3 years and always end up underwhelming. I'll take my Tigers winning the AL Central for a 4th straight year thank you.

Is there any fellow Phillies fans on this forum?

I'm a Phillies fan but I have to go with DQ on his prediction.  They're going to finish last or next to last in the NL East.  They have too many older, high-mileage, injury prone players to win.  We can thank Ruben Amaro Jr. and his mishandling of personnel decisions for that.

Just don't let the Red Sox win the World Series again.  They're already on pace to become the Yankees of the 21st Century and in an age of parity nobody except Boston wants to see that.

I agree with DQ's predictions for AL East and NL East.  I don't know enough about the rest of the league to say one way or the other.

At the moment, I'll take the Mets in 3rd place -- though I'd obviously love for them to do better. Once Thor, Harvey, and Wheeler are together in 2015, then we can seriously talk about contention.
