Over half my family are arachnophobes, so I'll have to find another way to do this when I try it this spring.

Update:

Spider is sitting in the freezer.

I plan on taking it out in 3 months or so when the weather gets warmer and it can survive on bugs.

I wouldn't have the courage to due  that. I'm not an arachnophobe to where I would have panic attack/start crying over a spider, but I just  feel uncomfortable being near one. 

Im fine with spiders, I let them in my room, Ive touched them, and I give them names. But once they try to climb on me and / or bite me, then its over... they die.

No, you can freeze insects and unfreeze them without anny harm being done to them.

Yes I was terribly afraid and had a small panic attack. I have no idea why I am even doing this.

Not sure if it can survive that long, if the worst thing happens at least you will have a very nice souvenir.
