WTf?! Well the idea she's lesbian is based in stereotypes (and I don't get why when there's plenty of other characters like her that don't get labeled this). And she's a fictional character with nothing about her love life being made official. In other words fanfiction is not canon.

Lesbian or not. In either case we know she'd be totally cool with it.

This bugs me, because in a show that loves to break stereotypes, clumping Dashie as a lesbian due to her tomboyish and athletic behavior is quite the stereotype. Not different than the high school jerks classifying the girl's high school sports teams as being all lesbians. 

If there was any relationship interest indication, then sure, fine. But based on athleticism and tomboyishness? That's stereotyping. 

And unfortunate, because I feel women's sports have lost a fair amount of players due to some girls not wanting to be labeled something that they aren't and avoid joining sports teams altogether. Not that they feel it to be wrong, or saying it's wrong, but no one wants to be definitively labeled as something that they aren't.

So unless she says "hey girls, you ever really look at Spitfire? Maybe she's open to be my special somepony" I'm not buying it, and it's kind of unfair to make the assumptions based on other behaviors.

Ah!! This is a head cannon obviously. Why are you guys mad that dashie could be a lesbian? It's just a fun idea everyone! I never said it was due to her tomboy-ish behavior or rainbow hair (although that's pretty funny). It's just, there aren't enough lesbians on tv and a girl can dream, no?

I totally see where you're coming from with this. I have felt like this many times about representation of LGBTQ+ characters, but I don't think it's an applicable argument in this case. My whole reason for head cannon-ing Rainbow Dash as gay is to feel more represented. Just as much as Dash could be straight, she could be gay. There is no harm in trying to add some diversity through head cannons. I totally get the fact that we shouldn't assume sexuality baed on behavioral traits, but people are quick to set everyone to a straight default. I'm just putting out the possibility that not everyone is automatically straight.Any more questions? Thanks for bringing this up, it's a very important conversation to be having.
