i always and will care about the mane 6. Theyre essentially the stars of the show (according to the title screen, and toys, and merch, and the story, and the movie, and so on and so forth)

they arent going anywhere.

Yes, I still care for the mane six. I always have, and I always will... Even long after the show ends! (But may that day never come)

Do I still care for the Mane 6? Sure I do, I still care as much for them as I always have. My amount of the care has not really changed ^^

Hm, I like all of them fine. The only one I can't really stand is Fluttershy.

Why not? Please don't tell me it's because she "learns the same lesson over and over". She just goes through her character development arc slower than the others, which is better than not at all like the Flim Flim brothers.

While they all have their ups and downs in their episodes, I still care about them

Oh, I don't know if I want to get into this publicly. But I'll try to be as kind as possible. *takes breath* perhaps it is just my personality, but I find her painful. I don't want to say she's useless but......she's useless. Until it's plot-centric that she not be. Fluttershy is basically babysat until she's got a use. I have... a problem typically with very shy and meek characters with literally every fear in the freakin' book. Like, how do you even function? I don't understand the personality, so that could be a fault on my end. I've tried to like her, but honestly, she just blends into the background for me. And when she does finally assert herself, my Gods, she's rude. I think the biggest teller of that was the episode where she was building the Animal Sanctuary. And I even asked a friend to watch it to see if I was just overreacting,and they were on my side that she was flat-out rude. I get that these people were encroaching upon her creativity, but her requests were quite vague, and being an artist myself who has taken drawing requests, its' hard to work off bare minimum on a piece that you are being paid for.

You want to do your best, and please the client, and sometimes, you take a creative liberty because they just will not help you. They barely know what they want, so you take a risk, and make a creative choice, and they either like it and great, or they don't and you try again until they are happy----but she just basically insulted them and their work. There was a nicer, and more professional way she could have handled that and it just at that point, turned me off of her for good. I was doing okay with her, until that episode,and I just can't anymore. She started taking her 'new found assertiveness' as almost an excuse to be just borderline insulting masked with almost an air of passive aggressiveness. And then the episode rewarded and accepted that behavior. I didn't want to think this about her, and I opted to give her a fighting chance, but it's over, she ruined it for me. I can't anymore.
Now I have friends that like her, so if you do, go for it, I see good qualities in her, but she's just ruined for me.

Only two of them -- Fluttershy and Pinkie.

But, neither of them are getting what I expected at all in Season 8. On the good side, though, there's still a Season 9 on the way.

As far as I know, nothing has been confirmed by Hasbro yet, and I actually doubt that season 9 will be the last season. Let's not give up hope just yet!

Whenever the show ends, I'm gonna get really depressed, though.

Of course, i still care about them, still looking forward for their new episodes.  I have more than the mane 6 to care about but that doesnt mean i want to dismiss them or something (who really want to dismiss the mane 6 anyway??! That's just silly).

Looks like you're alone in that regard, and nobody involved with the show pays attention to vocal minorities, so yeah, might as well give up. Show started with them, and it's gonna end with them, and they're no going away in G5 either apparently. How will you ever manage?

I take the G5 leaks and stuff with a grain of salt. Still years out so alot will probably change.

The mane 6 in g4...I just skip over them really. I'm mostly here for the community and character creating aspect of things.
