  1. An Old Head's post in Changing Topic name? was marked as the answer
That's very simple. If you hit the Edit button on the first post in the thread, it'll take you to an option called "Use Full Editor". Like below:

From there, you'll be able to see the title of your thread in a changeable text box. Use that to amend the title of the thread to anything you want, and then hit Submit Modified Post.

  2. An Old Head's post in Status "deleted", yet is still visible on my profile was marked as the answer
Your status will appear red when you delete it, but rest assured no other user can see it other than you and the staff. You can see it for yourself by opening your profile in another browser where you're logged out; those red status updates should be totally invisible.

The reason this happens is a fault with IPBoard. The tech admins have already been working on changing it, but for now you need not worry.
  3. An Old Head's post in donations was marked as the answer
Nope. Donations give you Donor status for a certain amount of time, based on the amount you donate towards the site. The duration rate is three days of donor status for every $1 you donate. So if you were to donate $10, for instance, you'd get 30 days of donor status, as that's 3 times 10. You will obtain all available donor perks during those days.

Subscriptions are an ongoing alternative to donations, where you sign up to donate a monthly $10 and retain the donor perks for as long as you're subscribed. One could technically call that the "permanent" method of donating

In short, the answer to your question is no. It all depends on how much you donate. Feel free to read more in this FAQ entry.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask! ^^
  4. An Old Head's post in Is there some way to apply for a Moderator position? was marked as the answer
    Hi there,

There is currently no application system to be a staff member - here's an excerpt from the FAQ entry on this question:

If a user is active and helpful enough, and has shown that they display the right levels of maturity and judgemental skills, one of the staff will bring them up to the others as a prospective new staff member; there's no specific instance where a position is or isn't available.

Hope that answers your question - if you have any others, don't hesitate to ask
  5. An Old Head's post in How to post pictures? was marked as the answer
The simplest way to upload a picture is to use an image hosting website. Some good ones include Imgur, Lightshot and Ctrlv.in. Once they're online, the board will allow you to just copy and paste them straight wherever you want them. My signature comes from Imgur if you look at its properties, for instance.

You can also use My Media to upload pictures for use in threads, but not for signatures. You can do that by selecting the Attachments option under "More Reply Options" when responding to/creating a thread, and you can choose a picture to upload for use later. Those are the two principal and easiest ways to upload images. n.n

Give that a go and see how well it does. If you have any other questions, we're very welcome to take them.
  6. An Old Head's post in Topics gone was marked as the answer
Feld0 has answered this question in a separate thread:

      Hope that helps!
  7. An Old Head's post in I need help please? was marked as the answer
We got in contact and the issue has been resolved.
  8. An Old Head's post in Changing profile background was marked as the answer
The first step is to go to your My Settings page - click on your username on the top right to do so if you're using the new MLPForums theme.

From there, you can click on the Profile Customizations tab. See the "Choose Background" option? Use that to upload whichever image you'd like as a background.

Beneath it are options such as whether you want to tile it, or if you'd like solid colour around the image. Also important to note is the size limit - if your image is larger than 500kB, you won't be able to upload it, so try converting it to a .jpg before you do so.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask
  9. An Old Head's post in I'm not alloys to reply?! was marked as the answer
That's funny - it looks like you responded to that thread just fine. It also looks like you were responding to a thread in General Discussion, which doesn't have that thread in it:

Either way, seeing the message "You do not have permission to reply to this topic" doesn't mean we've banned you from anything. It just means that something's happened to the thread, or in your case, something's happened to the response. This could be a lock, or a merge, or a deletion. You still have your posting privileges and should be able to respond to any other open threads, so don't fret.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. ^^
  10. An Old Head's post in How do I use the signature feature. was marked as the answer
The best way to add an image to your signature is to upload it on another medium first. That could include Imgur, Photobucket, Flickr etc. From there, IPBoard lets you simply copy and paste that image from its host into your signature. For example, my Maud Pie signature was uploaded to Ctrlv.in, then I just Copied from there and Pasted it into the box where you edit your signature. ^.^

Give that a go - it should always work. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
  11. An Old Head's post in Help me! was marked as the answer
    Hi there Narwhal!

That's simple - use this button:

Each subforum has a small descriptor at the top of the page telling you what it is. If you're ever unsure where a topic goes, you should consult that. For instance, there's one for Sugarcube Corner that reads the following:

If you're still stuck, you can always ask a staff member We'll move a thread to the correct section if you do get it wrong by accident, so don't worry.

That sounds like a problem with your browser's cache. This should be the button to press:

Try clearing the cache of your browser and see if that has any effect. Alternative options could be changing your forums' theme, or trying a different browser. One of those methods should allow you to unfollow whichever thread you wanted.

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask! ^^

  12. An Old Head's post in Where should I post a this particular topic? was marked as the answer
If it's got an explicit link to FiM (such as your case) then it's all good for Show Discussion. The Everfree Forest encompasses things whose primary focus isn't at all pony-related (apart from some instances like the Cute Pony Pictures thread) - in your case, it's about the characters from the show, so it wouldn't go there.

    Hope that helps ^^
  13. An Old Head's post in I want to start a Princess Cadence fan club kind of thread. was marked as the answer
Fan clubs for any pony or character in the show generally go in Sugarcube Corner, which is for miscellaneous pony discussion.

It just so happens that one already exists for Princess Cadance over there - it can be found here. By all means post to it!
  14. An Old Head's post in Can I get a link? was marked as the answer
MLP videos, and general videos. You're welcome
  15. An Old Head's post in Blank Flank? was marked as the answer
Pretty much what everyone has said - escalate your rank through making posts. Your badge will tell you the post boundaries, and your profile will tell you your current post count. You should also note that posts won't count in the Cloudsdale Colosseum section. Have fun!
  16. An Old Head's post in I can't log into my account! was marked as the answer
    Is this your account? http://mlpforums.com/user/24238-skyheart/

The best thing to do, if you've tried every other alternative at your disposal, is to get in contact with our tech staff. You can do that here. Please describe in full detail the problem you're having with accessing your account and the circumstances leading up to it, and they'll work with you to restore it.
  17. An Old Head's post in Where to open a fanfic ideas thread was marked as the answer
If you've got an idea in the works and are looking for advice on how to develop it, Creative Resources is where you should go - it's the place to seek advice from others in creative endeavours. n.n
  18. An Old Head's post in Edtiting Community Status Section of Profile was marked as the answer
Ah, so you mean these. ^^

Now, for your age, birthday, gender and personal motto, they're all under your Profile Information header in the Settings tab. If you click your username on the top right of the toolbar, a drop down menu appears with the "My Settings" option. From there, you can edit these boxes:

The only thing you can't change at the moment is your member title, and that's because it's a feature exclusive to subscribers/donors and staff. Otherwise, simply follow the instructions and find the boxes highlighted by those green boxes. ^^
  19. An Old Head's post in Multiple Accounts? was marked as the answer
Here - take a gander at this from the FAQ

It pretty much explains what's on your mind, but in summary: you're correct, having more than one account leads to the newer account getting banned, and a penalty landing on the main account. We're quite strict on alternate accounts; they lead to all types of issues/confusion when it comes to organisation. If you're looking to start afresh, I'm afraid that'd be impossible.

If you'd like more info, feel free to PM me.
  20. An Old Head's post in I lost 46 rep for no reason was marked as the answer
Known issue - it's a result of the Most Brohoofed Content getting a rework. From Feld0:

[10/01/2014 09:55:47] Feld0 | Poniverse.net: The "best content" page was getting hung up on the reputation data, so I kicked off a task to rebuild it.
[10/01/2014 09:57:41] Feld0 | Poniverse.net: This process generally drops the counts somewhat, since it accounts for deleted posts, etc.

Your counts should be restored once the task is finished. Please wait for that in the meantime.
  21. An Old Head's post in How do I tag a username? was marked as the answer
If the user is in the same thread, you can highlight a portion of their post to make the option "@Mention" appear. Click on that, and you'll be directed to a post with the username tagged for you.

If you'd like to do it manually, the tag is this:

(That's an image showing how to input it. All you need do is replace the <insert name here> with the username of choice. For instance; @Never2muchpinkie. You can add bold tags if you wish.)

    Hope that helps you
  22. An Old Head's post in RP topics shouldn't be in the "recently discussed" section on the front page was marked as the answer
There exists an option to exclude certain sections from your Recently Discussed window, which can be found here. You should use it to omit the roleplaying sections if you wouldn't like them in your own window.

Remember to choose subsections in the tree rather than main sections, as selecting the main sections won't function as intended. Do it like so:

  23. An Old Head's post in Question about the size of an Avatar. was marked as the answer
From the looks of things you've tried to upload an avatar of subscriber/donor dimensions, and that's been resized by the automatic avatar resizing tool. This should explain why your avatar doesn't end up at the quality it should. Default users can upload 150x150 size images as their avatar (or similar dimensions, it gets resized - consider it a 1:1 ratio) whereas donors, subscribers and staff can upload 150x200 size images (or 3:4 ratio).

Users that have donor/subscriber dimensions as their avatar, while being a normal member, are members that used to have such a status, but it expired. You can upload a large avatar with that status, and it is kept after the status expires, provided you don't take it down/switch it for another avatar, in which case the limits are reimposed.
  24. An Old Head's post in Question about events on the forums was marked as the answer
That's correct. There's currently a system in place that requires new calendar events to have moderator approval before going up, but if you have a good idea for a calendar event, you can just add away and see where it gets to.

It's preferable that you allow a few days' notice before the event itself happens, as that allows an optimal amount of members to get the opportunity to see the event and understand what it is before it happens, especially for events where everyone changes their avatar as they would want to prepare such - but it's not a requirement.
  25. An Old Head's post in Does MLPForums Have It's Own MC Server? was marked as the answer
We used to have a Minecraft server, however it was shut down due to a multitude of reasons. There is the possibility of it returning in the future - but for now, no server.

If you're interested in why it was shut down, Lugia answered a similar question detailing the reasons.
